I got Shield version yesterday and I've been playing around in camp a lot today. However, whenever I take the ball away from my Pokemon, it never gets mad. It always has a confused look with a question mark above their heads. How do I get them to respond angrily to me whenever I take away their ball? It's the response with the fighting swirls or whatever it's called above the head.
I think you need to get your Pokemon to max friendship or max happiness. Don't quote me on this, but if you talk to your Pokemon and ">Insert Pokemon here< looks like it wants to be with you forever" pops up, then your Pokemon should give a negative response to you taking their ball away. Getting the good benefits in battles (like extra critical hits and toughing out a one shot attack with 1 HP) should be a good indicator too. Just camp with your Pokemon a lot, level them up, and make sure they're happy.

In my opinion; the strongest and fastest Pokémon of the Generation 8 starters, especially after evolving to Raboot and finally to Cinderace.
