Giannis' defence is also underrated. His opponents shoot 41% when he's defending them, which is the best defensive FG% for players who've contested more than *500 shots* this season. When watching his games, it's clear that he warps the opposing offence due to his presence alone. He's definitely deserves first-team all defence.

I don't think there is a team that takes Giannis lightly. There are many that don't really worry too much about Middleton, though.
The league requires strong duo's. The defensive standard has really improved over the last few years. Bucks need Middleton to be almost as good as Giannis, and have a deep bench.
Similar to Tatum and Brown. 2 serious threats and a deep bench. Combined with a strong defence.

He has a major hole in his game...3`s? Whatever. Wondering why he still takes three attempts per game being 27,1% though. 🤪A bit concerning is, that he gets by far the most freethrows (13,3) and makes only 64,4%. Hope he can increase that number, when it is playoff-time. Also his TO`s sometimes spiral out of control. Despite that? Amazing season by him, especially the last weeks. A little time ago I had 1.Luka (it matters, but not giving too much value to the team-record) 2. Jokic 3. Embiid and Giannis. Meanwhile I actually think that Giannis is the frontrunner. If he keeps dominating like recently for the rest of the regular season, it will be difficult for anybody to overtake him.

Shooting around 30% 3pt is really not that bad for a player who's often deemed as 'he can't shoot.' Plus, he often makes big clutch 3's, so he's not afraid of the moment, those who watch the Bucks knows he's made some clutch 3's this year & past years. He also has a sweet turnaround post fadeaway. I remember there was also a stat last year that in the 2nd half the season, KD, Giannis, & Trae (I think it was Trae) led the league in mid-range FG%.

The key thing with what JJ is saying around 7:00 is that when you are a top team, other teams are **more likely** to hand you some free wins. Because if you're a western conference team fighting for playoff position and you're on a road trip, and you're trying to manage minutes while maximizing wins, it's pretty easy to decide to sit stars when you're in Milwaukee, because that's a hard win anyway, so you're better off dropping that one and being full strength for some other games.
I see the same thing with Denver - a ton of teams will rest players when they play in Denver because it's a tough team with a big home court advantage.
tl;dr success leads to more success.
