      If you caught Hope in one of his rare and candid moments.. there was just no one better. When he wanted, he had the ability to make you feel like you were the only person on the planet.

    There is a very good reason why we are like that. We love life! And we want to let everyone know how happy and excited and thrilled and exasperated we are that for this short time that we are sharing with everyone else above ground, that we feel blessed to be alive sharing these brief moments in time with you. So, let’s all make the most of it, while we can, while we have something to give back or say something interesting enough, us happy and yappy Americans want you to know, life is good so enjoy it while you can!

    This... was a star. And arguably The brightest star of to 20th century. Elvis was huge.. but Hope reached across every line and every parallel on the globe.

      And bing eclipsed him in every way, music, movies, radio...Bob just lived longer and worked longer. But statistics would put 20th century superstar status with Bing.

    • @princeharming8963
      @princeharming8963 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mitzymoo3151 I know you mean well. But, 'eclipsed' in what way? Tap dancing? Comic timing? Beating his children? Bing was phenomenally talented.. and by the time he'd passed, the die was pretty well cast. I don't think a few more years would have made any difference. God bless them both.. their talent defined an era.

    • @mitzymoo3151
      @mitzymoo3151 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@princeharming8963 can't agree...look at the stats...Bing eclipsed Bob in pretty well all areas, apparently even on the golf course. Who cares about tap dancing, Bing kept up with Astaire who said Bing was his favourite dance partner. Bing wasn't considered a comic but still held his own with Bob. Same old chestnut brought up about his kids. One out of seven kids and that one was later reinterviewed and challenged about some of his claims....look up his responses....then read about what his sister has to say about his explanation to her about the reasons behind some of his claims, she was appalled. Finally why do you think very few of today's comics reference Bob as their inspiration. His style while brilliant for his day is seen as old fashioned and sometimes not that funny. Go by what other top stars have mentioned in the day....Bing could do it all and better than anyone....I really like Bob he was amazing...but stats don't lie.

    heard a story about bob hope when he was getting a weekly wage from the studios he was in the accounts office every pay day arguing that he had been paid less than he counted and it was always about a cent or two. I knew the lady who made up the wages and that's what she said he was really tight fisted.

    I don't believe Bod Hope saying that what Gary Crosby wrote on Bing Crosby was not true but exaggerated to sell books. But Gary Crosby knew very well his late father Bing Crosby at home. Gary was in fact stating true statements.

    • @ep8324
      @ep8324 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Gary himself stated that he was drunk for most of the time writing this book and admitted himself that the publishers pressed on him to exaggerate in order to cash more money in. Biographer Gary Giddins also proved that all the statements about abuse and brutality in Gary's book were lies by doing a lengthy personal interview with Gary where he asked Gary about each statement of his from the book - it turned out that Gary couldn't even remember practically all of the abusive events he had described in the book.

      @@ep8324 - There were a number of famous persons who took some exception to the notion of Bing as 'family man'. (The interviews I saw were some time ago and I'll admit, I'm too lazy to look them up.. I think the darkness and the genius just part of a package deal with him.)

    • @mitzymoo3151

      @@princeharming8963 I have read where other actors defended bing. I think that, from what I have read, that some people who remarked about stories about Bing and Gary had second hand info that came from guess who?. Read about the story that done the rounds about Bing hurting one of his dogs...nasty story...and when traced back to the source of the story it came back to guess who?...who when confronted with this denied it and said Bing loved animals. Go to a 2017 article under redeeming Bing Crosby and read about the misinformation about this man. I'm sure Gary had reason to write some of his book...but have to wonder about other parts. Read what Mary Crosby has to say about her discussion with her stepbrother after the books release.
