This video is proof that Good music Will never die and it heals us !
Beautiful! This masterpiece never fails to make me cry. Powerful song. Most amazing street gig, complete with a String Quartet and TWO PIANOS! Bravo.
This video deserves a million views!!
Sim !!!!!
Wow a street gig with impeccable sound and beautiful performances through the whole ensemble
Comentário perfeito ! Brazil.
Hands down this is the best live performance of this song
...sim !!!!
Each one of you deserve a Nobel prize.
I’d go to Paris just to watch this
Like a lot of people, this came up on my you tube suggestions. So thankful it did. Just sublime. As a child I was introduced to all music appreciation including Jazz by my father, a jazz drummer. Many Sunday afternoon's spent in Jazz pubs. When he passed his drum kit went to the dementia care home he spent his last years in. Still there now annoying the hell out of some residents no doubt. I always share music with my mother, often saying imagine dad listening to this. Well all of your amazing ensemble are in my heart now. Still performing these street gigs? I would be over to Paris, no doubt. Brilliant musicians and a vocal that hits every note straight to the soul. Thank you ❤❤
This is SO incredible!!!! It has a bluesy soulfulness to it without sacrificing the wistful melancholy of the song. The string section was sublime!
"...god and his mercy, oh if he really does exist, why did he desert me?" thank you, Ellen, for not changing this lyric...
Lol
The way Ellen looks up to the sky while reciting this line…poignant
Except Gilbert sings "who" not "oh"...
She did change it.
Indeed it is@@cliftonboyz1959
Okay, I have a problem. I've been listening to this cover for two weeks non-stop. This is such a gem.
I keep listening on loop. Its so beautiful
Me too 😊
Me too😂
Without a doubt…., after all the rock n roll I listen to, this is hands down the most beautiful arrangement!!! The tempo.., the melody and the feeling she emits from her soul is such a tremendous Godsend.
It has everything going for it! The dress and bow in her hair just screams “pure innocence” while the lyrics elude to a shattered innocence - PERFECTION at its best!!! 😃😃😊
Just to appreciate a song like this and do it such justice is commendable. Terrific job folks.
great jazz arrangement of Gilbert's finest and saddest song. Well done
Brilliant arrangement. Brilliant team of artists. Brilliant performance. Brilliant recording. So intensely beautiful. Bravo bravo...
Wowwwwwww…..the best musicians and singer.
Beautiful song sung by a beautiful lady!
Amazing version. A brand new look of a old song.
Brought me to tears.
Ohh, man...what a voice! Ellen Birath, am not worthy (bow bow).Glad to have tumbled here. Although the song was originally sad, suicidal, etc, this group made it a bit less so and the jazzy undertone made it so elegant...wow....all the best from Manila!
Nice melody, I played this on key of F
PILIPINO MUSICIAN.
ARE YOU FROM MANILA SIR ?
Had a girlfriend from the Philippines...a contortionist...called herself the Manila Folder...
Best music arrangement. Best voice. Best recording. Bravo!
You know why this tune sounds so great? These people have found a balance between the instruments. The drums arent playing so loud as if they were the lead and everyone else has to play louder to he heard. Excellent! Especially for an outdoor performance!
...suave, doce ....!
i really cryyying mannn THIS SONG IS SO SAD TT .. cant imagine
I have listened to this on loop for days. Beautiful.
A beautiful voice and a great rendition! Great musicianship!👍🏾
Absolutely love this song! and this version too
What's a voice, i´m falling in love. From Argentina 😁
Oh, so lovely! This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE SONGS...and was hoping to hear how it would be redone, if ever. So glad to hear (and see) this. All smiles!!❤
Fabulous rendition of a Gilbert O'Sullivan classic.
Well done
Je suis à mon dixième visionnage. Même effet à chaque fois. Merci.
In a little while from now
If I'm not feeling any less sour
I promise myself to treat myself
And visit a nearby tower
And climbing to the top
Will throw myself off
In an effort to
Make it clear to whoever
Wants to know what it's like when you're shattered
Left standing in the lurch at a church
Were people saying, My God, that's tough
She stood him up
No point in us remaining
We may as well go home
As I did on my own
Alone again, naturally
To think that only yesterday
I was cheerful, bright and gay
Looking forward to who wouldn't do
The role I was about to play
But as if to knock me down
Reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch
Cut me into little pieces
Leaving me to doubt
Talk about, God in His mercy
Oh, if he really does exist
Why did he desert me
In my hour of need
I truly am indeed
Alone again, naturally
It seems to me that
There are more hearts broken in the world
That can't be mended
Left unattended
What do we do
What do we do
Alone again, naturally
Looking back over the years
And whatever else that appears
I remember I cried when my father died
Never wishing to hide the tears
And at sixty-five years old
My mother, God rest her soul
Couldn't understand why the only man
She had ever loved had been taken
Leaving her to start
With a heart so badly broken
Despite encouragement from me
No words were ever spoken
And when she passed away
I cried and cried all day
Alone again, naturally
Alone again, naturally
One word, BRILLIANT.
In a little while from now
If I'm not feeling any less sour
I promise myself to treat myself
And visit a nearby tower
And climbing to the top
Will throw myself off
In an effort to
Make it clear to whoever
Wants to know what it's like
