The crispness of the Nano is astonishing - it almost appears over sharpened, but I can see no sharpening artifacts - quite astonishing. The Nano does suffer from a slight blue cast and your colour grading helped a lot. Thank you again for posting this video.
Never trust any cameras, it does not matter if it is $50 or $100k camera, always film a grey card. Also people get confused with color correction with color grading, two very different things. Always color correct your footage and only than color grade to give the artistic look.

I`ve been having a discussion about the Nano+ camera being as good or even better than the Mavic 3 camera. You have pretty much confirmed this to be true. I don`t have unedited footage I can look at that hasn`t gone through TH-cam or other social media compression to see for myself. Perhaps you will be able to confirm my thoughts on this at a later time Vic. Thanks again for another good comparison, flight ability aside.
@@SW-Video It is better than mavic 3. I work with video compression and high end interactive video walls. I have to program things by the pixels perfect. And based on all I do I can see very clear on a calibrated 4K TV the nano has better image and definition than the mavic 3. DJI fanatics may say that is over sharpening in fact it is because it is not.
Excellent and detailed presentation !! I confirm 150% !!! I have Lite + and I can not believe it !!! The quality of the camera is incredible !!! However, more options for manual settings (dlog, 10bit, etc) must be provided immediately. If and when some weaknesses of the application are corrected, I would be happy to sell all DJI drones ...

VIC: Strange question: Did you also try to get similar "dark" nightshots with the Nano as the Air 2S delivered, with the street lights popping out? E. g. by using shutter in manual mode or EV correction? Sometimes we need just that effect to show it's really night-time. :)
You compare the Nano + with the Mavic 3. I am 100% sure it will destroy as well on night shots and the video definition of the Nano+ will gave more details. I always say, it does not matter how big is the sensors if the lens are not good. The Nano + got everything right that’s why it has a higher video definition than the Mavic 3 and other drones as well.

I cannot wait to have a larger Autel drone with the YRBY sensor, which can cope with higher winds. The night vision is astonishing and is a real game changer.
The problem with nano+ is the price, premium combo in UK is £860, I Picked up air 2S in Aug 2021 for £930. Its a different class of drone and should not be compared to nano+. Also there is a LOT you can do with HLG and DLOG which none of the nano+/Lite+ do not have. Nano does look impressive however the shadows are very black. and there some over sharperring applied by the default algorithm.

Thank you Nathan, in the remote controller of the Nano one thing the really bothers me are the two buttons that are exactly where my fingers are, therefore quite often I inadvertently hit one . But the video qualit is sublime!
I am really impressed with the Nano footage but I do think it looks a bit too over sharpened and processed. I find the Air 2s more pleasing and natural during the day. The night footage you are getting from the Nano is at a level that I've never seen before. That is my opinion based on the footage you are presenting. I always enjoy your videos and look forward to the next one!

Based on your reviews, the Nano plus is my likely choice although rumors about the Mini 3 suggest that it might have a similar camera to the Nano plus. So I’ve got to decide whether to wait for the Mini 3 and see how it compares with the Nano plus or just pull the trigger now. As a volcanologist who has worked a lot in Italy I particularly like your shots that include Mt. Etna!
Nice review. I own an Autel Evo 2 Pro and also a Nano Plus. Nano plus is a great, very capable little drone. My only complaint is the lack of wind resistance, although that has gotten batter with recent releases. I'm hoping in the future it will get even better.

I think the camera footage is probably better do to the filter on the Nano+. That said the rest of the drones capabilties as far as wind and the sensors giving a lot of people trouble falls much short of the Air 2S in my opinion.
Over-sharpening in Nano+ is visible, that moire needs a little gaussian blur. Still, camera is very good, but the drone lacks a lot of things...in hoover is moving left-right-up-down a lot, when you move it in sides you get a difference in altitude that is not nice, there will be no Manual settings in all modes except PRO, so a BIG MINUS (who is making Hyperlapse in AUTO??? ). So...for family is good...for small works, I would not go to Nano+. We have it here in tests also. Also a few bugs for Android Sky APP users: - in Pano mode, the screen goes black if you have selected RAW only. Probably will be addressed later. - still no tracking, so we have no idea how will pinpoint the location for POI and how will work Follow Me (but was not a nice experience in any Autel drone).
Interesting points, especially the one about hyperlapses in auto mode. I agree, several things can be improved, but even as it is, I still find this drone extremely useful

Autel camera systems seem superior to DJI in every way. I have an old Autel X-star premium and the camera is incredible but the drones flight character leaves a lot to be desired. DJI really did it right with all the added ergonomic details that Autel lacks. It's a bit frustrating to find out that your control sticks and your aux cable do not store anywhere conveniently with the Autel drones...even the latest iterations. Also little things like once folded you can still add/remove SD card and battery with DJI... Autel you cannot. Control sticks can be removed but you must store them separately. Seems like Autel is being belligerent about borrowing from DJI with regard to standardizing the control stick and aux cord storage in the frame of the RC. It just feels right and it works. Why fight it. And my final 2¢ is everyone thinks DJI Geo fencing is difficult? ...wrong. I rarely have a no launch situation with my DJI drones. I've had more than a dozen "no launch" scenarios with my Autel drone. Granted not all related to geo fencing but still I could not fly my drone when I was out to specifically fly a drone...and that is always disappointing. The older Autel products have cold start issues and need to be warmed up if the temperature is below 32°F. 🤠

looks like you overprocessed most of the Nano footage and didn't process the Air 2s footage to the same degree if at all. after about the 3rd example from the Air 2s it looks like you didn't process it at all.
I must admit that I have had issues with this video, due to a conflict of Premiere Pro with the graphic card. I had to delay publishing by one week and I had to reprocess all clips practically blindly, as Premiere would not display them and I could only see the results after encoding. I have changed the graphic card since
@@VICVideopIC honestly you didn't do the Nano any favors also. Many of the Nano clips the shadows look way too over processed, almost like you have a a negative gamma filter on it or something. I enjoy your videos though, I've been using DaVinci Resolve. It's free and supposedly has the best color-grading tools.
It is true, the Autel Nano Plus has very sharp images, several users think they are too sharp, other love them. The footage of the Air 2s is sensational even by today's standards

I do not see it as over sharpening, in my opinion is just a lot of true detail

The nano + has better lens, better sensors with better filters, bigger apertures and better voltages to digital. And the pixels density is high.

Maybe it’s just me but the Nano footage looks oversaturated/overprocessed. Can be a tricky comparison. I’ll stick to my Air 2S for now.
That is the normal mode.
Now there is a flat log mode and a HDR one. I will test them very soon

Yes I agree. The Nano footage looks oversharp during the day but in night & dull conditions I think we have a new champion.
Latest update added a Log mode with very conservative picture properties including sharpness.

So its time to sell my Mini2 and Air2S but what about wind resistance, the Autel didnt do well
Wind resistance was very poor at the beginning.
It is a little better now after firmware upgrade. More or less the same as the Mini 2 now

Great video and comparison👍👌The Nano+ blows the Air2S out of the water😀The colors of the Air2S look dull while the Nano+ colors look crispy. I myself have the Autel Nano+ and the DJI Mini 2 and the difference is the same. Autel camera quality beats all DJI drones including the Mavic 3 in my opinion. See my latest video on my YT channel flying the Nano+ over water in strong winds with the Freewell ND 32 filter. I was blowing away by the quality of this small and light sub. 250 gr. drone. Not a fan of the colors on the Nano plus. It hurts my eyes. LOL Don’t need another expensive drone when Air 2S delivers.
I remember when I got the Air 2S I found the colors beautiful, especially in photography
If u want quad Bayer sensor sharpness buy the mavic air 2 so much cheaper and it's good

looks like you overprocessed most of the Nano footage and didn't process the Air 2s footage to the same degree if at all. after about the 3rd example from the Air 2s it looks like you didn't process it at all.
I must admit that I have had issues with this video, due to a conflict of Premiere Pro with the graphic card.
I had to delay publishing by one week and I had to reprocess all clips practically blindly, as Premiere would not display them and I could only see the results after encoding.

@@VICVideopIC honestly you didn't do the Nano any favors also. Many of the Nano clips the shadows look way too over processed, almost like you have a a negative gamma filter on it or something. I enjoy your videos though, I've been using DaVinci Resolve. It's free and supposedly has the best color-grading tools.

Autel has terrible, oversharpened image. Its footage is useless. Air 2s wins easily.
It is true, the Autel Nano Plus has very sharp images, several users think they are too sharp, other love them.
The footage of the Air 2s is sensational even by today's standards
