I really was strongly considering BJU as it looks fantastic and teaches well but with six kids and one income I just can’t afford it.
I am hoping The Good and The Beautiful will work well for us as it might be all I can afford right now.
We very much LOVE Math With Confidence too!!!❤️
Looking forward to your next video!!!

My 3rd grader is loving the 3rd grade Sonlight readers. She loved The 3rd Grade Detectives so much she bought a set of the first 6 books for a friend for her birthday.
I love that Sonlight grows such a love of reading in my kids. This year I also have a 1st, 6th, 7th and 10th graders reading Sonlight readers.
I also use CLE Reading from 1st through 8th for the deeper teaching of phonics, vocabulary, word roots, poetry, and literary analysis. Doing this I found my kids did better with the readers in upper levels of Sonlight.

We use Hoffman Academy for my son and it’s been wonderful! We do premium as well. My son has gotten really good at reading sheet music over the last year. It’s been so rewarding to watch him grow in skill and confidence.
I’d love to see a flip through of the new All About Spelling! I’ve been considering trying that for my son next year. He’ll be in 3rd grade next year as well.

We are doing BJU reading 2 right now and we really like it, with TGATB LA 2. I already have TGATB level 3 readers for next year so I’m torn if I should buy BJU reading 3 too.

Thanks for sharing! Can you please tell me what kind of paper you print your Math With Confidence student workbooks on? I am considering buying the PDF for the workbooks going forward since I have 3 kids using this math. We love it and I do not see us switching to something else. Next year will be our 3rd year using it.

I just print it on regular printer paper. I used to use a thicker paper, but honestly, I've found it's not necessary.

How do you manage to fit in all in one day? How long does school take you typically? I feel like I can't ever get it all done.

Curious your reasoning for adding Times Tales? We are on MWC 2nd grade this year - at a very slow pace. And will be doing 3rd grade next year. Is Times Tales super helpful to add as well or is MWC 3rd grade sufficient?

It's not essential, but it made life easier for us. :)

Did you use TGTB 3rd grade spelling with your son? I was planning on using the full curriculum with my 3rd grader next year so I was curious what you didn’t like about the spelling component

We are using 3rd grade TGTB and doing the spelling. It’s not your average spelling program where you have a list of words and then a spelling test. It’s more practicing spelling rules with the words that correlate. I’ve like it well enough, but I don’t know that I’d consider it “spelling” in the traditional sense.

Agree! If you’re looking for a traditional spelling curriculum, we like BJU Press! I don’t think it’s necessary to purchase the teacher’s guide, but it’s definitely an option!

We did not. I'm not a fan of how they teach spelling. My kids all need a lot more practice than what they provide.
