I have given that responsibility to my 8 yr old boy to fold and keep his clothes in his closet . My policy is make them responsible since young . So they will take responsibility. In family we need to share duties anyone can clear chores
I've never thought that, my mom had me help her do dishes and mopping since as long as I can remember (6 yrs old). I always tell people, kids and pets are smart. If you treat a kid like a little person, they will be responsible. Of course, lower your expectations and give them tasks that they can manage. The one thing my mom didn't let me do until I was 16 was cooking because it's dangerous (and sewing with a machine she never let me lol).
If you have a small load, alternatively, you could put 2 kids clothes in separate mesh laundry bags and throw those into the washer so it's still kept separate but saves on water and electricity!
The minute she said 13 kids I looked at her again and clicked “like”. You need an award just for being able to stand up straight, let alone looking that great and being that calm collected and poised. I have no kids and you’ve motivated me!

I have 6 children ages 9 down to 2 and I started implementing this system over 6 months ago and it has been LIFE-CHANGING for our family…I share this with every big family I run into! I can’t believe how much time and room this system saves! Thank you!
@@MegaMommaUlman Talk about finding someone who’s “been there done that” While I only had 3, with my husband it always seemed like I was washing for 9. LOL I’m sure she’s been in your shoes and I’m glad you found inspiration and a few tips to try and help save time. Me? I can’t offer any advice, but I’ll just keep you in my prayers. And just say “You ladies staying home raising our future generations are my absolute Hero’s!! I know it takes sacrifice to live on a smaller paycheck, but let me say, my daughter (27yrs old w 3 kids) just passed away August 2020. How I wish I could’ve spent more time with her growing up. I now realize that we could’ve done just fine on a smaller income, and I would now have more memories.. I consider raising kids the hardest job you’ll ever love..
@@MrsCluffRN awe... I am so sorry for your loss.... I am sure you did an amazing job raising your daughter. I feel the same way about you working mommas! You are heros too wearing so many hats! We all have regrets 😔 trust me... look forward and spend lots of times with those grand babies and never look back with regret look forward with love and hope for what you can instil in you grandchildren!
I just wanted to let you know that your laundry system has changed our lives!!!!!!!! We now call it “The Laundry Revolution” Truly Thank you from the bottom of my heart! We have 5 kids and the Laundry was piling up. We feel so much better and in control now and the kids love it too. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
This system changed my life! I have 6 kids, ages nb to 13. I had been doing more like the minimal mom's system, a single basket in the laundry room, wash when full. But then the clothes would sit and pile up on the couch. This system prevents the pile up and gets the kids involved without too much complaining. I'd love more from you like this! How do you do chores? How do you get everyone to bed on time? Out the door on time? How do you deal with picky eaters? How do you meal plan, shop, cook...?
I dont have too much of a problem with kid noise but my husband is sensitive. Our girls have never been allowed to yell or run through the house, (or touch the walls). I dont know, that is just how they were raised. So our house was never chaotic or loud. Of course it was three girls, so maybe that made a difference??
I switched to your system. I have 5 boys and its made laundry SO much easier. We've been completely caught up since. I love it!! Keep posting more genius hacks.
Two comments: First, I’ve never gotten the idea of sorting laundry. Wash in cold water. Everything goes in together. Bravo! Easy-peasy! Second, thank you for modeling your children working on household tasks. It drives me nuts when I see mothers who “have” to clean up after their children! Your THREE YEAR OLD is putting away his own clothes. Yes, teaching them is a chore. But once they learn it, you’ve given them responsibility for their own tasks permanently. Great example to all parents!
I can’t just throw everything in together. I wash lights and darks separately and bath towels and kitchen towels separately. I’ve tried mixing and it seems to make the lighter clothes dingy even using cold water. I’m a crazy sorter. Although, if I had 13 kids I’d definitely consider this method.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Your children must not have made it to teenage years, who seem to have forgotten the previous 10-11 years of training as evident of their clothes being left on the floor for the dog's to use as padding for them to sleep on and then these now teenagers complain that dog hair is all over their clothes. (Coated German Shepherds). And yes, I am aware. That was a runon paragraph. Be glad I stopped. There was more.
So, i don't know if you've ever handwashed anything or looked at the colour of your cold wash waste water but it is very evident that darks still loose colour with every wash (the water darkens from dark dyes). Whites are best looking white, not dingy; the same argument can be said for colours. The dyes from dark-dyed-wash water attach to the fibers on cotton and wools (natural fabrics), not so much synthetic fabrics, affecting the "brightness" of whites/colours. Then of course, there is the reasoning for sorting/separating for those who use bleach, it should be obvious as to why you wouldn't want to mix. If everything can go in together is the mentality, then a very basic wardrobe of synthetic blend and lack luster apparel can be presumed ... i just hope the cleaning rags aren't included in this "Everything goes in together" laundry philosophy. Totally awesome seeing kids doing chores!! ;)
Robert Junge I have to agree. I sort everything. I cringe to see someone washing bath towels and kitchen towels in with their clothing. I wash my bath towels and kitchen towels separately in a super hot sanitizing setting. I can’t just throw everything in. It makes lighter clothing look dingy.
Listen lady...🤚 this changed my life. Period. I haven't had to do more than 1-2 loads every other day. It's so much better.. I'm never overwhelmed with laundry anymore. Thank you!!!
My husband will toss his next to the basket or at the foot of the bed every time. I’ve told him where the basket is. I’ve picked them up and then complained about it. I’ve left them on the floor for over a week. He only mentions anything when all his work clothes are dirty 🙄 I’m like, “ I washed all the laundry in the dirty clothes baskets 🤷♀️” 4 years later he is still in need of training
My husband gets ready for work and leave clean clothing options on the bed the chest chair any where then comes come and throws worn clothes any where smh leaving me not knowing what’s clean or dirty
This gives me all sorts of Cheaper by the Dozen vibes. Especially the stop watch and the targeting the area of most time consumption to be ass efficient as possible. I live that book :)
@@misscleo378 I like the sequel to the original Cheaper by the dozen which is Bells on their toes. It’s not as good as the original but I do like it really well.
When struggling with a mental illness, I find laundry overwhelming and my son is 14. We’re going to try a version of this, especially as we’re both doing a ruthless declutter & donating to charity. I’m hoping with less clothes and a better system things won’t be so chaotic. Thank you! 🤗
So, an older mom here! I had 6 kids. Ended up with 2 washers and 2 dryers which helped me amazingly well!!! I still sorted by color (old fashioned, I guess) but I did have my children sort their dirty clothes and put their clean ones away. I love your method!!! Teaching your children at a young age is so good for them! I did mix my kids clothes but I had two sets of three so teenagers with toddlers. I chose to pair up their laundry-a teen with a toddler which cut down the time of figuring out whose clothes were whose because large ones were the teen; small ones the toddler. We hung anything worn from the waist up and folded all worn from the waist down (exception was underclothing and dress pants). I had my children find and bring empty hangers to the laundry room when it was their laundry day. You’ve come up with an amazing solution! I will be sharing it with my grown daughters who are moms. Well done! Thanks for posting!
@@TheeOwlette her water bill wouldnt be any different rather she ran two washers at once or did 2 loads back to back in one it's the same amount of loads getting washed.
It's soooo amazing how your husband contributed in thinking up a new system for your lives to be easier and more convenient. It even boosted up the sense of responsibility for your kids. And all this despite you seeming to be quite well off. This was honestly super amazing! Love the partnership in the marriage and the parenting tricks for the kids~ And wow, 13 kids! You really seem to have done quite well so far. I hope all goes well always~
I know this video is 2 years old, but this was the best laundry hack video I’ve ever seen. I love your explanation for how it came about and the math on how it has so dramatically cut your laundry time. A well earned New Subscriber! I look forward to going through all your videos!
Of all the laundry videos I’ve watched and all the methods I’ve tried this is the best one, HANDS DOWN! With a family that has ADD/ADHD laundry has always been a major headache. But this method works so well for us! Thank you so much!
First, let me say, 13 kids!!! You look awesome!!! I stumbled upon your video and I so wish I had this kind of idea back when I had my first 3 girls (in the late 80's) this is a wonderful idea. I have another daughter( who just turned 15) so I will no longer be doing her laundry with mine after seeing your system and watching your little one put it away himself!! You rock!
Wow 13 kids. Kudos to hubby for coming up with that solution. When he retires he can make money by answer all mom questions, heck he can do that now. You all would be rich 🤣
This woman needs to run the country. The organization skills, and that little boy putting his clothes away, some adults cant even do that. God bless this beautiful family. The parents are jewels!
You changed my laundry routine with this. We are pregnant with #6 and I was always overrun with laundry. THANK YOU for sharing!!! My kids are 10 and under. the oldest 3 do their own laundry now and I also implemented the cube system. EVERYONE can put their own laundry away in 3 minutes. My laundry room is clean. THANK YOU!
Lol! Right? We are all grown up in the house, everyone(besides my dad) does laundry when needs be. I don't mind folding the close though, we are only 5 so I will not compare!
I'd learned from MOPS decades ago about a company (headed by moms) to use their pegboard system with discs of either words or stickers of specific chores/routine things the kids each needed to do each day. It was an easy and fun way for them to feel accomplished and see they contribute one way or the other to the household. Eventually the kids could cross train a sibling when they wanted to trade chores too. (Only if Mom allowed it, of course.) 🤔 I think I need to pull that pegboard and disc system out and sell it actually. The discs also were helpful for reward system as they could dip into one of the jars and have something meaningful.
We just started this system! It is going great we had a ton of clothes bc I held on to everything not only is this system easy but if the clothes don’t fit they must part with their least favorite items and donate it. We are reducing the overwhelming amount of clothes we have one load at a time!!!!!!! Thanks so much for this video!!!!!!
I am LOVING not just this video, but also reading all of the amazing comments on here. So many comments by women lifting up other women & commending their great ideas. We really don't see this enough. Im loving it! I wish we had so much more of this. Our world would be a much better place.
I purchased the Kallax shelf unit from Ikea this past weekend for 119 and 16 of the large storage bins from Walmart as you suggested for 120. I spent a total of 240 and labeled the shelf. My children LOVE it and so do I. Thank you!!!! What used to be a head ache is no longer a hassle. I am so glad I watched this.
Wow this a genius idea! We totally underestimate how much kids can do, look what your 3.5 yr old can do. My 7+9 yr old put their own clothes away but I really should get them to do their own washing. That would save me and my hubby so much time!
I sort my clothes every time. I use different water temperatures and detergents for different types of loads. Clothes just look better for much longer and generally last longer IMO. But I understand why she does their laundry the way she does. There's 13 kids, for goodness sakes. She'd be buried in a dirty clothes version of Jenga otherwise. AND since kids grow every SINGLE night, she's constantly replacing clothes anyway. No need for the longevity that an adult might want. 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
@@larasikora5534 I sort the clothes too because of different detergents. You can use different hampers for it. I have one for dark clothes and one for whites/colors. You can even have three or more depending on your system. And every time I put underwear into a washing net, that way there are no lost socks. For sock pairing, I try to pair them as I hang them to dry, so I do not have to sort through a giant bin of unsorted socks.
Yeah, you're right. But I just cant keep on top if it that way. So for me, not sorting and washing everything in cold works for me. And I avoid buying anything that needs too much special care.
My goodness, you deserve an award...13 kids and you look like a model. Love this idea. Very helpful. Involving the kids at a young at is a very good idea. My 19 year old son is preparing to move away for his last 2 years of college and doesn't have a clue how to do laundry. God bless
We've been doing this for a year now and I absolutely love it. I have ADHD and some of my kids as well and this works for ADHD I recommend it to everyone I know and every support group.
Brilliant solution. Little kids love to help and be independent. I started mine cooking at 3, just packet cake mixes with different added ingredients each time and we made mini muffins that could be frozen. By the time they were 8, they could handle the oven by themselves. I never bought them snacks, they cooked for themselves, their friends were so jealous! They are now in their 20s and are all great cooks, my son is the best.
That's a great idea! I could for sure do better on helping my younger kids to cook. My older ones to take turns preparing a lot of the meals but sometimes we overlook the younger ones.
So great that you were open to hear your husband’s ideas! My husband and daughter don’t sort their clothes. I have always sorted by colors as well as by agitation level. My clothes are in much better shape, and my whites/lighter colors are not dingy from dark clothes. In recent years, I’ve invested in clothes that are wrinkle-resistant, machine washable and are still professional (I work outside the home and travel for work). It’s great that you have empowered your kids to take responsibility for their things (and their appearance).
I just stumbled across this by accident and I think the lord knew I needed you! We’re a family of seven and it gets crazy with the laundry. We have been working on more independent responsibilities for the kids and this will be an excellent way to instill that it also show how convenient this is. Thank you!🖤
This changed our lives drastically for the better! My autistic son can handle this system! He's five and I thought it would take him years to learn how to care for his clothes but your tips and techniques changed everything! Thank you so so much for sharing!
Honestly I especially enjoy that you've let your kids make decisions on how they wanted to store their cloths with the bins dressers or if they still wanted to use their closets because I know if I dident get that decision it would make me crazy. When I was about 16 I decided I hated folding so I hung everything and it was a good decision for specifically me and I think even small choices like this are great for kids to still feel like they have a say in what's happening to their own stuff. But I think it's also fantastic that your teaching all you kids how to do their own Laundry because that's an EXTREMELY important skill to learn.
I have 7 amazing kids, age 10 and under, and laundry was killing me...i hated I was spending so much of my time on their laundry and not with them. Your video was God's answer to my hearts cry. I saw it and implemented it 6 months ago. I just got 10 hrs/week of my life back to spend trying to homeschool them and be with them more. I dont know how to thank you enough. May God bless you abundantly
You are a very good mom! One of the most important things in life is teaching your children to be self sufficient! And when they learn at a young age, they will be able to take care of themselves when they get older and live on their own.
Mind blown. And Real Mom, YOU ARE OPEN FOR SUGGESTIONS? Babe you totally have this thing down! Well DONE YOU! (great marriage decision...who knew he would solve your laundry issues?)
OMG!!! Where were you when my kiddos were little??!! Ok, they are in their 30’s so nowhere. But this is seriously brilliant! I’m sending it to all three of my adult daughters for their kiddos!! And yes, you really do look amazing for having so many children! God bless you and your hubs for coming up with this!!
Update!!! switched to your laundry system and cannot believe how quickly we are doing laundry I still do the sorting portion but eliminating the folding is saving me soooo much time. 5 kids 5 and under here so this is a game changer for us. Thank you !!!!
I love your idea! We have 10 kids, 11th on the way. We’ll be trying your system to simplify our laundry. Here is a bonus idea: get each kid to add their bedsheets at the same time as their load. :)
This is the hack I have been searching for. I instantly knew between the amount of kids you have and your husbands analysis this was going to work. 2 weeks in and I can’t believe how LITTLE laundry I feel like we’ve done. Thank you! All the kids now bring down, wash, dry, fold and put away 100% on their own! 🙌🏼😄
Let me just say, you are my hero! And 13 kids. Bless your heart girl! And you look amazingggg!! I have 2 kids 8 and 6. My 6 year old daughter changes like a million times. SHE IS A DIVA! Now its warmer too school clothes and play clothes. Im so using this! Thank youuuu for sharing!!!! If you have any other organizing ideas pleaseeeee share!!!
I've been doing this exact method for 3 years now and it works great never change It is perfect I can't believe someone else figured it out I thought I was the genius
You and your husband sound like a great team. Congratulations on 13 kids. You have seriously inspired me to foster children who need a loving home. God bless your family with health, wellness and everything good🤲
After watching your video I went out and bought my kids their own laundry baskets to keep the laundry separate. Thank you so much!! So simple yet it has made a massive difference to our laundry issues.
Oh my! How can you look so good and be so serene?! Those kids are blessed for a Mom who trains thrm so well. Loved that little boy! Only 3 and so efficient!
This video inspired me! I bought the cubby units and bins and let my kids do their thing now. My kids have autism and adhd, and because of your video, they taught me that I was putting their clothes away wrong! Lol! Now, they have organized their bin in a way that makes sense for them!
That bin system is genius. I wish I’d seen this about 20 years ago! My kids started doing their own laundry at 5 and 7 after I had ear surgery and couldn’t bend over for a while to reach the dryer. My little one used a stepladder to reach. I pulled myself completely out of the process, so if one didn’t do laundry they didn’t have clean clothes. Another thing is that most of their clothes were second hand so they’d already been washed and dried several times, and all bleeding was already dealt with by someone else 😀 My daughter had strong opinions on what she wanted to wear by 18 months, so I didn’t even have to pick out clothes for her. She did have a very- let’s say avant-garde fashion sense. But hey, if I tried to make her coordinate, she would refuse to wear clothes. I had much bigger battles to fight, such as what to cook for supper!
A big regret of mine is not making my kids do their laundry and I worked full time. I had to give them quick lessons before they went away to university and then I still got picture messages with questions re how to sort something or how to wash something else. 😂 One HATES doing laundry, the other likes it and the other, IDK. Likely his wife does it all. 🤷(sorry, daughter-in-law)
Amazing, love that you dont mix each persons clothes i have been keeping it seperate for years, my mom keeps fighting the system though not wanting to waste time on smaller loads this is great and does absolutely work finally a laundry video that actually does save time. Im impressed 13 kids and you look beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
I agree with having a system, making each kid responsible for their clothes, teaching a life skill, freeing up the parents time....it sure brought greater ease into my family life.
This has changed doing laundry so much. I don't hate doing it anymore. I wish I knew about this when all 5 of my children were home. Only have 2 at home now but has made such a difference. Will tell everyone who has more than 2 people at home
Great job!! I totally admire you for getting your kids involved in doing their laundry, it creates responsibility in them. I wish more moms would do this!!
I was 11 years old, when my mother passed away. I didn’t know how to do anything that she did. The cooking, I knew how to boil water and brown hamburger. Laundry, I knew nothing. Cleaning, I knew how to vacuum and dust. Grocery shopping, you wouldn’t think that it would be difficult, but it is hard to figure out what you need for an entire week for an 11 year old. Back then you needed to iron a lot of things, I knew nothing. I got a quick how to for all of it from my Aunts. I was the oldest daughter. I did have an older brother who was 13 at the time. And a sister who was nine. Our father was a perfectionist. My brother had to help clean and to make dinner every other day with me. Our father wouldn’t cook anything. I always did my very best, often having to redo things, numerous times. I was always being yelled at for not doing a good enough job. In addition to cleaning and cooking dinner every other day, i was responsible for ironing, washing, drying, folding and putting away the laundry for the entire family. I was also, responsible for all of the grocery shopping. I was always yelled at for spending too much money at the store. My aunt would pick me up after school and taking me to the store. She would either do her own shopping or run errands. I was expected to do our shopping on my own. For all of you who don’t like this way of doing laundry. It’s okay to do it the way you prefer, however its okay to do it her way too. Having her children do their own laundry, well she is actually teaching her kids how to take care of themselves. Which is what a good parent does. I did it all for my own family. I was determined that my sons wouldn’t have to work like i did and they were allowed to just be kids. After sending my sons off to college, i found that a lot of children didn’t know how to do their own laundry. It’s the same with making their own meals and money management. These are all life lessons that all kids need. I shouldn’t have had to be responsible at 11, but I should have helped and learned these life lessons. So many college kids don’t know how to do it themselves. She’s being a fantastic mom. I would prefer that clothes are folded. But you could teach your kids to fold their own.. This is a fantastic video of how to get children to learn responsibility for themselves. She is teaching them!! Awesome ideas Real Mom Real Solutions!!
We had a family implosion due to outside circumstances and people. My mother was physically removed from the house when she should not have been. So my dad landed everything including taking care of my uncontrollable brother on my 10 yr old shoulders. I didn't know how to do anything because my Mom did it all. I had to call her just to learn how to cook dinner for my brother and I. Most times I relied on memories and tried to make it work. My father took zero time to teach me anything. He was not involved in the house at all but he was also gone at work 7 days a week. So many times I didn't go to school because I was too tired from doing everything. Laundry I made easy. We had a community laundry basket in the bathroom. When it was full I put it all in the wash. No separating. Then I threw my brothers clothes in his room to let him do it because I refused. Knew nothing about clothes bleeding but it didn't matter, they were clean.
I watched this video and went out and bought all da cube organizers! Seriously, thank you for giving me a simpler system. The hardest part was letting go of the folding, but it does make sense because my kids always mess up their drawers.
My mom needed this system! I am one of nine and laundry was a real mess at my house. I am just about to welcome my second baby into the house so I will definitely be using this technique with there clothes.
I wanted to watch this for 5 people plus two temporary people. This is worth the try for big families with younger kids but not workable for adults. Lol. Not enough room for my clothes 😀. Kudos for the 3 year old!!! I was always told to teach my kids “chores” at a young age and I never did. They are on their 20s now and boy I wish I would have!!! You must be an excellent mother!!!
As I raised my 7 we moved away from mixing clothes. That one thing made such a difference. Wish I’d had your video in my tool belt then. Oh I miss my years of child rearing. But, I’ve been consoled with two beautiful grandsons and my children have grown up to be wonderful people.
This couple is amazing! What a lovely home and family you two have!!! You are truly an inspiration, thank you soooooooooooo much for sharing with those of us who were unfortunately never properly taught how to manage a household!
It's a good idea to teach them to fold their clothing. Socks n under garments that no biggie. Teaching folding teaches discipline and order. In life, you just can't throw your tools in the shed in a bin. It's great you teach each child to do their own laundry. Kudos to you!
GOOD FOR YOU for teaching kids basic homemaking tasks! I know teens who still don't do laundry, cook or pick up after themselves. Also, thank you for not trying to be funny, like so many try to do. You're a lovely person.
This is actually amazing. I'm childfree but I'll pass this along to any parents I know and also to adults I know who are still young enough to be ok with picking your wardrobe out of a bin every day.
This was recommended to me... I think I’m being spied on by TH-cam. I am constantly loosing my cool o the amount of laundry I’m doing weekly. I just want to throw away all but a few pieces of clothes. This method gives me hope. Thank you!
Wanda Herring Not a great solution. They are made of polyester. They shed microscopic particles that end up going down the drain and polluting the oceans. The rest ends up in landfill. These, and dryer sheets are not a green solution.
We have been washing each kids clothes separately now for a few years and it makes it super duper manageable! Each kid has a colored towel they are responsible for with their load and each kid is assigned to a day or 2 assigned to a day--- makes laundry very manageable. Love the idea of labeling the basket when a child has clothes in the washer or dryer cause I do ask who's clothes are in there often enough to figure out a way to label them. Thks!
We use color coordinated baskets, but we foster and changing names out every few months is too much. Instead each room (our kids all have their own room) gets assigned a color so I don’t have to wonder, it’s just based on the color basket. We also do that with cups so we don’t have random cups everywhere.
These were the hacks that I did not know I needed! Getting these bins right away. And I did not know that you washing all together in cold water would be okay. i ve had too many clothes ruined that sorting is like a religion for me..Wow! You did a great job. And you look fantastic!
13 KIDS?? YOU ARE A TRUE ANGEL!! And however you manage all this, Kudos to You Mom! I'm truly in awe! Ty for the great tips!!! And, enjoy your Beautiful Family!! 😍
Great idea with the dresser idea you have (the bins) now I know what I can do for my little girls clothes - currently using clear plastic storage bins with kids but such a hassle, love your idea. Thanks for sharing.
This video was recommended to me and I'm so glad I watched it. I think my biggest worry is that the clothes will be wrinkled for the little ones, but I can try this to see if it would work. Thank you! ~ Jennifer
I hate wrinkled clothes and thus I iron almost everything except sheets, towels and coats unless I have to. Wish the dryer would march them upstairs to me when done 😂 but they still don't have nice creases and I see every wrinkle etc.🤷
Lol THANK YOU! I started doing bins for my 3 kids when I decided to go back to our university for nursing. SO MANY PPL including my mother thought this was absolutely crazy or lazy! NOW I can show them that in reality, I was just thinking like an engineer LOL. Just goes to show you, it’s all perspective.

I just wanted to let you know that your laundry system has changed our lives!!!!!!!! We now call it “The Laundry Revolution” Truly Thank you from the bottom of my heart! We have 5 kids and the Laundry was piling up. We feel so much better and in control now and the kids love it too. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Have you noticed a drastic difference in your electric bill?
Love how it is presented like a research paper/video! Shows that efficiency apply everywhere 😃 the engineer in me is loving it!
A husband who instead of criticizing came along side you to help. Refreshing!!
I want to know how it’s SOOO quiet during this video?! Next video on how you’ve eliminated 82% of the noise in your home...🙏🏻
This comment made me laugh lol
I dont have too much of a problem with kid noise but my husband is sensitive. Our girls have never been allowed to yell or run through the house, (or touch the walls). I dont know, that is just how they were raised. So our house was never chaotic or loud. Of course it was three girls, so maybe that made a difference??

I switched to your system. I have 5 boys and its made laundry SO much easier. We've been completely caught up since. I love it!! Keep posting more genius hacks.
How's it going now, Ruth? You still keeping up on that laundry? 🙂
It sets them up well for later in life, too. They'll likely have to do their own laundry at some point, so it makes sense to teach them how.
Teaching your children to do their own laundry is so important for their future. Well done!
Listen lady...🤚 this changed my life. Period. I haven't had to do more than 1-2 loads every other day. It's so much better.. I'm never overwhelmed with laundry anymore. Thank you!!!
I don't have any kids but i'm still watching this. Maybe if I write my boyfriend's name on a laundry basket he will put his clothes in there😂
Nope bf are immune to laundry baskets 😂
Best comment ever lol
My husband will toss his next to the basket or at the foot of the bed every time. I’ve told him where the basket is. I’ve picked them up and then complained about it. I’ve left them on the floor for over a week. He only mentions anything when all his work clothes are dirty 🙄 I’m like, “ I washed all the laundry in the dirty clothes baskets 🤷♀️” 4 years later he is still in need of training
Yeah rite lol
My husband gets ready for work and leave clean clothing options on the bed the chest chair any where then comes come and throws worn clothes any where smh leaving me not knowing what’s clean or dirty

When struggling with a mental illness, I find laundry overwhelming and my son is 14. We’re going to try a version of this, especially as we’re both doing a ruthless declutter & donating to charity. I’m hoping with less clothes and a better system things won’t be so chaotic. Thank you! 🤗
Just coming here to say we adopted this system with 4 kids about a year ago and I’m not exaggerating, it’s been life changing. Thank you so much!
Your little one sorting was actually quite impressive! Good sorting skills! Love the bins pulled out all at once method!
And he has a sense of self pride and confidence.
What great skills for your children! They often have made up sorting exercises in school, real life lessons are so good for us all!
I would hate to see your water bill lol
Not as bad as our grocery bill! Haha.
Love the partnership in the marriage and the parenting tricks for the kids~

Of all the laundry videos I’ve watched and all the methods I’ve tried this is the best one, HANDS DOWN! With a family that has ADD/ADHD laundry has always been a major headache. But this method works so well for us! Thank you so much!
Very smart idea! I can’t imagine running a home with 13 children. You certainly would have to learn to be organized or go insane
I have 13 kids too and one the biggest things isn’t perfection but knowing that the here right now is true happiness
You rock!

Omg yes it must. I truly needed this video. I don't know how it was reccomend but I'm happy it was.
Lol! Right? We are all grown up in the house, everyone(besides my dad) does laundry when needs be. I don't mind folding the close though, we are only 5 so I will not compare!
Okay, I'm not the only one that was randomly recommended this today. Glad I found it though.
I have 7 kids you just gave me “goals”
You can do this.💃💃💃
I'd learned from MOPS decades ago about a company (headed by moms) to use their pegboard system with discs of either words or stickers of specific chores/routine things the kids each needed to do each day.
Our family friends have 5 kids. She assigned each one a day to do laundry. With 7 kids and 7 days, you totally could do that!
I do the same..but my mom was a child w 12 siblings...very poor hand washing ...
Thank you for your understanding!
Yeah, you're right. But I just cant keep on top if it that way. So for me, not sorting and washing everything in cold works for me. And I avoid buying anything that needs too much special care.
I get you... but I’m a mother of four under 5 n they grow so fast 💨 they be out of clothes quicker than you can blink....
A more fitting title would be 'How to delegate like a true boss!"
I love the ideas. I needed you in my life when I was child rearing.
YES
TY!

I just stumbled across this by accident and I think the lord knew I needed you! We’re a family of seven and it gets crazy with the laundry.
It's so nice to know/see that you can have a clean organized home without folding a ton of clothes all the time. Thank you!

Other clothes will not be washed properly with bedsheets. It be would be best to set a day, just for bedsheets with others kids bedsheets
This is the hack I have been searching for. I instantly knew between the amount of kids you have and your husbands analysis this was going to work. 2 weeks in and I can’t believe how LITTLE laundry I feel like we’ve done. Thank you!
You have a zillion kids - the fact that you had time to make this helpful video tells me time management isn't a problem for you.
To wash multiple kids clothes at the same time use laundry bags, the clothes stay separated and the washing time is cut down.
good idea, that would help cut down the wash/dry time too! especially for smaller loads or younger kid's clothes since they take up less space!
Tried this... the clothes don’t get cleaned good enough:(
But, how will the clothes get clean if they're trapped in a bag? Everything needs to move around and be beat to get all the grunge stuff out.
Ohhh good idea
He is adorable. Way to keep our attention adding one of the kids, and the youngest one. Adorable.
13 kids. WOW! You are amazing.
What I heard is permission to buy new laundry baskets and towels. And I am very excited to try this! ♥️
You have an amazing story. I'm sorry you had to go through all that
Teach them to fold when they are older and have the physical coordination to do so and when they care.
I have 6 kids I CAN NOT imagine 13. You are a super woman!!! So inspiring!!!
This has to be the most practical way to do laundry for any large family! I'm going to try to practice these rules with my family. Thank you!
Thank you!
If you are concerned about fabrics bleeding there is a product called color fast. Comes in a sheet like a dryer sheet but for washing. It is great.
Wanda Herring Not a great solution. They are made of polyester. They shed microscopic particles that end up going down the drain and polluting the oceans. The rest ends up in landfill. These, and dryer sheets are not a green solution.
There is a green solution on the market now, it looks like a little towel and does the same job many many times. Great tip
Wow wow. I have zero children. Amazing that you make it work! ❤️❤️❤️
You’re honestly a genius. Not just the washing and storing system, but having all kids of all ages take responsibility for their things. Bravo momma!
Wow 13 kids, your blessed. You are amazing. Good job, i have two kids, i wont be complaining after seeing this video😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤
@@sugoiharris1348 we do the colored cups also! And everyone has their own hamper to make it easier!
I’ve implemented this with my four kids as of the new year. It’s going GREAT!! Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you! ~ Jennifer
Scientific fact: wrinkled clothing de-wrinkles, ironed clothing gets wrinkled 🙍
My mom always worried about wrinkles,
I don’t. Life is easier that way.
Drawer stuffer for life!!
Lol
I hate wrinkled clothes and thus I iron almost everything except sheets, towels and coats unless I have to. Wish the dryer would march them upstairs to me when done 😂 but they still don't have nice creases and I see every wrinkle etc.🤷
I'd teach kids the KonMari method of folding. Would only take a short learning time and make clothes look better! It becomes habit.
Hey,I'm your subscriber from India...
Your video are informative
I think you are so cute! Thanks for sharing & explaining your family's method! Blessings for helping others find better ways to do laundry out there!
I have also come to the conclusion that kid's clothes don't need to be folded before even watching this. A great system, thanks for sharing!
