Beginner Tunisian Spiral Shawl

- The Tunisian Spiral Shawl was developed by Dela Wilkins in wondering if the Knit Slash Stripe Shawl could be done in Tunisian. With Tunisian Hook with extension cord in hand, she modified the Yarnspirations pattern to using the Tunisian Knit Stitch.
The pattern is really super easy with doing quick identification on how many rows to do before the indent of the 2 stitches to bind off. The tutorial will take you through the beginning of doing a cast on and reviewing of the Tunisian Knit Stitch prior to getting into the project. However, if you know how to do the knit stitch, just fast forward.

Thank you Dela Wilkins for a great pattern!! And, of course, thank you Mikey for the tutorial!!
HA! I had tried a similar in 'regular' crochet, and gave up after several tries. You made this so very clear, and I quickly saw that the Y/O came after the previous row's KS through that Y/O, truly making it easy to see when. I am practicing with some cotton yarn, but this is going to make a splendid summer shawl! Thank you for a great video, Mikey ❤
I wasn't a fan of how thin the start was, for so long a run, so frogged and started adding a row each time, before the bind off, which made it much wider, faster and more of a dragon's wing look. It's great to hear you say to 'make crochet your own', and I did!
I love Tunisian crochet! Thank you for sharing!! 😊
You’re amazing teaching!! Thanks so much for this video!
Wow! This is so awesome 👌
I love Tunisian Crochet and I will definitely be making this!
Great tutorial, thank you. I find a little sip of a nice liquor before working with something so fumbly often helps 😂
Great tutorial ❣️🧣
Thank you so much for sharing. Great gift idea. Will try soon. Like you said, I love the knitted look, but knitting takes so long. I hope this will be a faster project for me with the knit look.
Great tutorial! Have wanted to do tunisian for a while.
I made the points one row higher (5) and one stitch deeper, and it made bigger points.
Nice tutorial Mikey!
Super!Thank you!
Great tutorial! I can't wait to try this. I've never seen Tunisian hooks with extensions, but will look into it.
Try Joanna’s they have it🧣
My JoAnne's only sells Tunisian crochet hooks with extensions on line. If you don't find in store, check on their website
@@rkng1 thank you so much. I don't have a local Joanns so I will look online. I appreciate your help.😀
@@MsPERLA1990 thank you so much!
I haven't looked yet but have heard that Amazon also sells Tunisian crochet hooks with extensions. I know JoAnns has them on line because I've bought them there. You may want to get their app as they frequently have coupons that can also be used on line😀
Yay Mickie more Tunisian
Beautiful. Thank you
I'm giggling a bit as I literally just baught a set of hooks like this for my mom. 😊 going to have to see if I can borrow one.
Wow beautiful. I love Tunisian crochet. Will definitely be making this one. Just have to find a hook with extension. Not easy to find.
eBay has any kind of crochet hooks including the Tunisians with extensions ;)
Denise interchangeable knit and crochet lets you buy individual hooks & extensions. The hooks are short which I don't like, but not having to buy a whole set is great.
Your tutorial always challenge me especially when I decide that I have done enough crochet projects.
I will have to pay cash for this projects' yarn so my husband doesn't complained anymore that I am spending too much money.
I have the Tunisian hook but I don’t have any extensions yet “ but I really do like your” patterns “
Your bind off is rather thick and on the front like a slip st would be. Couldn't you use only one or two strands of the top "under chain" instead of the whole chain? That might put the bind-off on top. I love to watch and learn on you tube and your videos are super! Thanks!
I think your tip is right. I ended up SC between the stitches instead. I agree with your assessment.
Any chance you could post a picture of the finished shawl on the pattern page? I have no concept of how you would wear this or what it would look like done and on someone.
I'm scheduled to finish it in the next week or so.
@@TheCrochetCrowd Great!!! Thanks for replying!
Question:. Is there a comfortable Tunisian crochet hook out there? I'm using the Susan Bates Flexible Afghan Hook and it's killing my wrist. It seems that the cable is really not flexible and thus I have a LOT of torque as I try to rotate the hook to pick up yarn. I feel like a hook on a swivel might work. Thoughts?
👌
I just made this but it's wrong. Have to take it out and start it over again
Just finished this but now have no idea how to wear it. It’s awkward on the shoulders.Help
