Great commentary, exhilarating footage. I learned heaps watching this awesomely produced video. Damn I was scared watching that rock hop. Great respect for the fish and the ocean. My kinda guy. Have subscribed and will be a fan for a long time. Keep em coming Ghost Fisher!
That's wicked mate. Absolutely beautiful spot too. Huge thumbs up. My p.b black J is 143cm. Was on pretty light gear too . 25 lb braid , 50 lb leader, up near the finees River n.t.
thanks a lot mate, its a very calculated risk with a tone of experience,i would never put myself or others in dangerous spot if I thought so, a fish is never worth a life.cheers for watching.
It’s a lot usually a 3:00am to 3:30am start and the home by 7:30 to help out, then off to work but I run my own race with work so lucky in the sense, and this seems to be what works to get balance in passion and work,I do sacrifice some sleep though.
I ended up buying a bg mq 2500 and honoustly every time I use it I wish I'd just got another regular bg to me the mq doesn't feel as nice and less line capacity however maybe it's just because I'm so used to the bg
Iv had bg's for years mq is 2500 normal bgs are all bigger sizes also tried a shimano stradic and tbh just can't go past the regular bg!!!! Wicked line capacity strong as only downfall is quiet drag, I'm going to buy another 2500 soon and retire the mq
Just read your intro, and yes re the conditions. I know a spot where when certain conditions are pumping, the Jewies shoal up. They are big buggers, 20/30 kilo fish, and smash my baits as soon as they hit the water. It's a few hours from me, and a mongrel place with little hope of landing them. I have seen many lost at my feet, so don't target them in those conditions anymore.
Thanks for reading mate, man they are some serious Jew at that size, I imagine it would be a challenge trying to drag them out in that sort of country. Cheers
Yeah I was only thinking that last night,I have never really chased pigs,do you berley it up?? And is it better to have a deeper hole with wash cover??
@@TheGhostFishing I get good pigs (3 kg +) in shallow gutters and holes like where you scored your jew, main thing is white water cover, food (cunji ad crabs washing in). I berley liberally with soaked chicken layer pellets (roll them into golf ball sized bombs - really get the pigs going better than soaked bread). Bait of choice is either large peeled banana prawns, cooked prawns (work really well) or cunji. Pea-sized sinker straight down to a 1 /0 mustad 92554 and 20 - 30 lb straight through tough mono (old school but very effective). They are great eating and you can get them any month (contrary to what people have you believe). Give em a shot as they pull really hard!
You want a bit of swell for pigs - after a southerly blow (when seas are just starting to abate can be sensational). Cunji covered ledges only accessible on last of run-out/low tide can be gun as they rarely get fished (people think they are too shallow, too snaggy and you need an incoming tide). If fishing large prawns from fish market or Woolies, I always throw the shells tails and heads in at my feet after peeling prawn and baiting up - constant liberal berley supplemented with one ball of pre-soaked chicken pellets every 10-15 minutes. Fish light - shoulder bag, small tackle box with handful of hooks, rub stone, pea-sized ball sinkers), knife, tea towel (to clean hands/grab drummer), pliers, belt with two bait buckets - one for bait (keep moist/fresh don't let it dry out) and one for berley and you're in business for some awesome fun! Hope this helps and happy hunting!
I do understand your concern and it is quite easy to project your fear from the comfort of your house, but in saying that, would you recommend everyone pays $100,000 with a government authority to drive a car ?? This here is a calculated risk I make for myself with 30 years of ocean experience and understanding the dangers, the same way you do, jumping in your car everyday with a way higher risk of an accident.

Irresponsible People should have to Deposit a $100,000 with a Government Authority to help pay for The Inevitable Recovery of The Body.

Nah dude - some people are good on the rocks. The only risk there was getting wet.
