Coming from someone who won’t have their father be able to walk them down the aisle and will never get the chance too since he’s passed away, I would really think about not having your dad walk you down the aisle, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to have and would be so special. Poor Dakota wish you can invite all your family!.i that Brooklyn was like “anyways way needless to say”. i hope Dakota will be able to answer some questions ☺️.
The “giving the bride away” is not about ownership. It’s about your father (the first man to ever love you) holding your hand one last time before your husband becomes your hand to hold and shoulder to lean on. It’s supposed to symbolize love and trust, not ownership.
My husband was 25 when we got married and I was 20, and we waited 5 years to have our son! Definitely a sweet spot, and I knew he wanted to have a little one at or right after he turned 30. I personally wasn’t sure if 25 was the age I wanted to have a baby but I feel like it’s a good age especially if you feel like you’ll be ready :)
There should be no difference between siblings adopted or blood as you put it. You could have the same blood type as a stranger blood means nothing. I see you have edited the video but maybe you should address it instead of editing

Don’t know if this has ever been addressed, but why was Dakota’s age listed as 21 in the 10 dates series? Was it a typo or just to avoid people judging that he’s “too old”?
Something about this couple is just very odd. First, they lied about his age in their first video saying he was 21 but he was actually MUCH older. I just feel like with the pace they are going it may not last long in the future :/
I don’t know if that is a thing but I actually quite like the idea of walking down the aisle as a couple because in the end it’s you both choosing each other and not one receiving or awaiting the other if that makes sense. But especially with a wedding it really comes down to personal preference. A wedding should be as individual as the couple getting married and fit their personality, so props to you guys for doing you 😊
It is a thing! My mom and dad walked down the aisle together! They had both been in bad marriages before and both got divorced before they met each other. They wanted their wedding to be simple and more about love than anything else. Like you said, they both chose each other!

I think she says that because the origin of the woman taking the man’s last name was because of sexism and how men viewed getting married as the woman is now in possession of the man she married. That’s why she as a feminist is not comfortable following that “tradition”. Doesn’t mean that you can’t be a feminist while having taken your husband’s last name, I’m pretty sure she didn’t mean it that way.
I feel like having your dad walk you down the isle represents his love for you and how he trusts Dakota to be a loving husband to you. I hope y'all are at least doing a father/daughter dance.
Yeah.. but I think it’s special to have the walk down the aisle be yours and only your moments like that’s your wow moment and I think it’s also really empowering to say I am not anyone’s property and nobody needs to ‘give me away’
You guys are not getting what she means; the fact that she doesn’t feel like her dad has to give her away in any way is because of the sexist ORIGIN of the tradition of dad’s walking down the aisle with their daughters. It was a way of showing how the woman was a object that was owned by her father and had to be passed by him to her new owner: her husband. That’s why she’s not comfortable following that tradition. Not because she doesn’t want to “include her dad in her wedding”.
They are trying to act like it never happened but it’s too late thousands of people already saw and heard how they truly feel about their non blood siblings 🤮

Oh my word. Since when did your dad walking you down the aisle mean he owns you? Um, he did raise you didn’t he? Take care of you from newborn - on right? Couldn’t it be seen as a sign of respect? If your mom walked you down, what would that mean? Girls, you’re not anti feminist if your dad walks you down the aisle. Not a fan of this kind of wokeism.
A father giving his daughter away at her wedding is ownership what the heck is marriage? There’s a lot wrong with this. A father walking his daughter down the aisle is tradition. Your husband is gonna own you. Your beliefs are all twisted around.
@@smileyfan16 respectfully, this isn’t the Middle Ages. Marriage is a bonding of two equals, each with different strengths. There is no dowry involved. This is a dad saying,” I’ve treated this woman like a queen her whole life, and I expect you to treat her the same.” And as someone that no longer has my dad anymore, it’s good to think twice about removing him from a special moment that means nothing more than mutual love and respect. I haven’t seen a lot of people do this but I actually love the idea of walking down the aisle as a couple instead of walking down the aisle by yourself.
My brother and his wife did that, it was so beautiful and unexpected and they came walking out of the forest together into the field :)
I am excited to see the wedding, but I feel like they are not going to last married. I'm not seeing Brooklyn 100% enthusiastic, about the weeding she's like mehh..
exactly i was expecting her and them to be more excited about the engagement question and how they feel i completely agree she's like eh
Idk if it was just me but when they were talking about the venue being small and how dakota has to cut down on his family brooklyn just cut him off and said anyway to move on…. brooklyn has a ton of family too i hope she had to make cuts as well and not just dakota
Your wedding sounds so chill and personal. Reminds me of my own wedding, under 100 people, no dancing, chill lol Marriage is literally the best! 10/10 recommend!!
I see the Dad walking you down the aisle different. I was walked by both mom and dad. I see it as I took care of you until now and when we are gone he will be there since we won't 😌
Brooklyn, calling Paisley your "blood sister" is so out of line... It's heartbreaking you don't consider her a real sister. I know your family doesn't say sorry, but I hope you can make an exception for Paisley.
she does consider her her real sister-
I think the wedding sounds like Brooklyn’a perfect birthday party, not their shared vision. He can’t even invite everyone in his family & doesn’t know the theme
Right.. shows that they are not ready to be married… just think she wants a wedding like her twin which is sad
From my experience, the woman usually does most of the wedding planning and the guy literally does not care as long as he ends up with his bride.
i get not wanting to be owned or “given away” but that’s such a special moment with your dad id think it more as him just being there supporting you even having your mom
please stop. she doesn’t want to and you need to support her. i want that moment with my dad but she doesn’t and that’s that. stop.

Coming from someone who won’t have their father be able to walk them down the aisle and will never get the chance too since he’s passed away, I would really think about not having your dad walk you down the aisle, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to have and would be so special. I’m not trying to diss your reasoning I just want to really think about it because it is something so special! I love you and Bailey so much, have been following you since you your first video!! Keep being you and putting out great content :)
the vibe that brooklyn and dakota r talking about for the venue is kinda reminding me of the wedding from twilight breaking dawn and i love it lol
i dont look at it that my dad is giving me away, i just see that my dad is the first and only man that loved me regardless of whether the marriage lasts or not or regardless of comes in and out of my life and he is entrusting my Husband to be to love me and take care of me and that im seeing it as more of a nice moment and memory for me and my dad. you don't have to have him "give you away" because lets face it he's not and his his mind he knows your still his child his baby and you always will be. i love the idea of a first look with my dad too especially as im the youngest and will be the last to get married

Not in a good way though obviously
You can be a feminist and still take his name. The fact that I took my husband’s last name doesn’t make me any less of a strong independent woman.
I think she means that being a feminist she has the choice to not take his last name. Just like, you made a choice to take your husband's last name
say that
I think she says that because the origin of the woman taking the man’s last name was because of sexism and how men viewed getting married as the woman is now in possession of the man she married. That’s why she as a feminist is not comfortable following that “tradition”. Doesn’t mean that you can’t be a feminist while having taken your husband’s last name, I’m pretty sure she didn’t mean it that way.
completely misinterpreted what she said
Yes! feminism means you support every woman’s right to choose what is best for herself.
Why she had to cut him off when he was talking about how he wished all his family was there 💀
I feel like having your dad walk you down the isle represents his love for you and how he trusts Dakota to be a loving husband to you. I hope y'all are at least doing a father/daughter dance.
exactly, just because your “such a feminist” doesn’t mean you can’t include your father on YOUR WEDDING DAY. I think it’s dumb but whatever
Yeah.. but I think it’s special to have the walk down the aisle be yours and only your moments like that’s your wow moment and I think it’s also really empowering to say I am not anyone’s property and nobody needs to ‘give me away’
I guess it’s a great thing nobody was asking for your opinion
You guys are not getting what she means; the fact that she doesn’t feel like her dad has to give her away in any way is because of the sexist ORIGIN of the tradition of dad’s walking down the aisle with their daughters. It was a way of showing how the woman was a object that was owned by her father and had to be passed by him to her new owner: her husband. That’s why she’s not comfortable following that tradition. Not because she doesn’t want to “include her dad in her wedding”.
The fact that y'all don't even see her pov or what she meant and what the issue is says a lot.
Dakota has gotten so much more comfortable in front of the camera since the first time!

For bachelorette party, will you include paisley or do something one on one separate with her so she doesn’t feel left out?
Bachelorette parties usually aren't appropriate for children :)
Yeah, sounds like poor paisley is gonna be left out, she wasnt with them dress shopping, and now Brooklyn is saying that shes only having her “blood sisters” as bridesmaids. That kind of hurt. But i agree, bachelorette parties aren’t children appropriate.
@@mysticalmorn1953 I’m saying it would prob be special if paisley isn’t included in the bachelorette party for Brooklyn to do something one on one with her to make her feel included.
And lastly, no, my husband doesn’t own me, but we are a team, and there is no “I” in team. Marriage cannot be successful if it’s all about just one individual.
