Well I mostly agree, I think your second reason is invalid. You are allowed to say something is bad even if you can't do it yourself. It's like saying the artist is not allowed to be critersized by 90% of people just because they can't produce music themselves. People that aren't actual musicians can still complain about something, and that something could help the artist get better. I get that there are people in the world will hate because they can, but that second reason is really just invalid in my personal opinion. I'm not hating on Alison either, shes doing great for herself and I enjoy her music.
You do know there are critics of music that don't compose themselves, right? I feel it's fair to criticize without being in that field. Like if a blacksmith makes a sword and it breaks 1st time around, fair to say that the work wasn't up to par whether you forge or not. Music is a freedom of expression and everyone isn't going to agree with it. Composers and musicians know the difference of 'constructive' and 'destructive' criticism lol.
