I watched Hiromi last night and she and her band were amazing! So good. I've watched so many jazz concerts this year, but hers is the best. Such a big fan!
I went to Bordeaux to see Hiromi and her Sonicworld group. Been a long time fan. It was truly amazing, I loved every second of it, I will feel the sound still singing within my bones for next few weeks 😂
The videos of her playing live in Japan are so epic, crowd size looks like old Metallica concerts. Thank you Japan for not only keeping jazz fusion alive but innovating ✌️
Definitely look up Casiopea as well. Incredible Japanese Jazz fusion band she was part of for a while. I personally prefer their classic lineup but the time with her was fantastic as well.
Been to her/their concert yesterday night here in Rome. Just a thing of beauty. As much as I love this video and song in general, I can assure you the live version is way superior. The rythm section is as powerful as they get, and the trumpet breaks are more layered and interesting. Of course, then, to see Hiromi play in person is an experience in itself, I'd waited for years for the occasion to pass by and I was glad I caught it this time. She just exudes energy, positive energy, you could well say that she glows. But yeah, if you're here you already know that.
I think I might have spaced out whilst watching this. Round 6:45 I was solid gone. If not for the rhythm change round 7:30 I may never have re-established contact. Great adventures deserve nothing less. Thanks for post and tuning in so diligently to our creative waviness. Is it me or is it hot in here?
The electronic sounds harken back to Hiromi's very first album, "Another Mind"...... This is definitely a jarring contrast to what Hiromi's albums have usually been sounding like lately. I wonder what the full album is like? I guess I'll find out on October 6!

I just got my 13 year old daughter to watch an 8+ minute jazz video. This is a great entryway to “difficult” music for the younger generations.
