China's top foreign language university? -- 突袭北外

- Beijing's Foreign Studies University (BFSU) is a top university in China. It is renown for its numerous language courses and the quality of its teaching. After 'raiding' Peking, Tsinghua and Zhejiang universities, I went to BFSU to see for myself how good its students are at foreign languages. I wasn't disappointed, but there were also some surprises waiting for me on top of their language skills.
北京外国语大学（北外）是中国一流大学，它以众多的语言课程和教学质量而闻名。在 “突袭 ”了北京大学、清华大学和浙江大学之后，我来到了北外，亲眼目睹了该校学生的外语水平。我没有失望，但除了他们的语言能力之外，还有一些惊喜在等着我。

I'm a mexican student who has been studying chinese for three years and right now lives in japan (so i'm also studying japanese). I'm also in a university specialized in foreing languages so it's really funny how everyone here just struggles to speak any language in general but most people speaks more than just 2 lmao. This video was really interesting and i can really relate to the struggle of learning many languages at the same time!!! Nice video, also helps me to practice my chinese !

I’m a 🇨🇳 (Chinese) person living in 🇺🇸 (America). This interview was really interesting lol. Their language skills are really impressive. I can only really speak English and a bit of Chinese (and a little bit Japanese too). It kind of makes me miss my university days lol

I wish all the students the best of luck, and to the boy who thinks his English is perfect- your pronunciation is good- but if I'm honest there's still room for improvement- you should do comprehensible listening input every day, learn rap, and listen to a lot of songs or poetry. Prioritise this over grammar. It will help with your rhythm, and your grammar.

Guten Tag. My teacher told us not to learn two foreign languages in the meanwhile. Por lo tanto, solamente aprendí español en la universidad. Não obstante, português é muito similar a espanhol, sigo estudando agora o idioma. 德语完全放弃了，从分不清meine mein这些单词开始，希望真正有时间后，还会重新学起来德语😂

Sim. O português e o espanhol não são muito diferentes. Sempre falo espanhol com palavras só existes em o português e vice versa quando falo português. 中文和英语也是，说中文时经常不用到英语词就不会讲话，或者用英语句式说中文，而且英语本身也没学好。经常是想表达一个什么事情但是只能想到英文词或只能想到中文词，或者英文和中文都想不到。甚至有时还会混日语，比如idoso得想一下才知道是葡语不是日语，因为idoso和otosan imoto什么的感觉差不多都是三个音节，读音也挺像日语。好在平时也没人跟我说话除了工作时间LOL. It's actually kinda pathetic now I think about it.... well... At least I talk a lot when I travel and I travel all the time.

@@tealovinglaolu1 no wonder you speak Chinese like a native speaker. How come you can speak multi- languages without any difficulties? I'm a Chinese native speaker in Taiwan, it's utterly formidable for me to learn English well even though I've learned, studied for at least 20 years, I nevertheless find it awakard for me to acquire it like my mother tongue? Do you actually speak Chinese without hesitation or difficulty? Do you Just concentrate on the listening and speaking skills in China or you also focus on the reading and writing skills? DO you pay attention to German, french and English in China as well? I can't believe that you can speak 3-4 languages at the same time!!
@@user-ic9vg6pw4o Well it’s never really at the same time. But I’d say I feel pretty comfortable in Chinese and English, while my German is a bit rusty. Reading in Chinese is decent, but I’m very slow compared to a native speaker. My hand writing is lousy, I never concentrated on that aspect, but typing is fine 🤪 As for English, I really enjoy reading in that language, unlike German, which structure I find too convoluted 🥴 And French… Fortunately it’s hard to forget one’s mother tongue 😉 Your English looks damn good 👍🏼

Since you've lived in china for 30 years, does it mean you can pick up or acquire Chinese like a native speaker? Do you pressure that you are far more good at Chinese than your mother tongue French?
