I think he’s special grade simply for the reason that he’s made it this far in the fight. He’s the only one that has been scrapping with sukuna since after kashimo. All first grades have died or have been injured heavily extremely quickly. The only exception is ino, and that’s because he knew his role.

It's a bit complicated defining who fits the description for being a "Special Grade" sorcerer, and it's because people don't make the distition between a Special Grade level fighter and someone who fits the official Jujutsu society's system definition of "Special Grade", which according to Kenjaku is someone capable of overthrowing a country, whether physically or politically/socially. Ryu, Uro, Uraume, Maki, Yuji and some other characters at their tier of power are as strong or stronger than Geto or Yuki but would still not fit the description in my opinion, one of them can create an entire army of curses and the other generate enough mass to cause mass (😉) destroction. This is why a character like the principal Yaga, wich is not touching any of those, was at one point almost considered a "Special Grade", since he could have potentially created an army of hundreds if not thousands of puppets of the level of Panda (Grade 1).

I believe Yuji has a Domain... Because Kusakabe is the one that taught him Simple Domain, same guy with a Sure-Hit and said "Simple or not, a Domain is a Domain!" Which means Yuji may or may not use it once Sukuna hits 1 or 2 more black flashes to use his original completed domain

Hes easily top 6 now. The issue is most sorcerers can’t even kill him . He’s becoming the best tank in jjk and he’s 100% hitting you with multiple black flashes and there’s nothing you can do about it. Excluding the top 4/5 guys everyone else gets folded the longer the fight goes on.

(Death Womb Paintings are named for a specific art piece about the stages of decay, and Yuji isn't part of that.) He might still be half curse, but it's technically unconfirmed. Either way, a half-curse it just a half-curse, while the Death Womb Paintings are cursed objects made from the fetuses of half-curses. - Yuji gained the ability to create blood from cursed energy from eating his siblings, and doesn't have that ability naturally. This is solely an application of his ability to acquire abilities by eating cursed objects. - Yuji's ability to strike the soul isn't a cursed energy trait, it's just good aim. His time as a vessel combined with Yuki's research has given him the ability to target the soul. Maki (who can see souls) and Sukuna (who was also a vessel) can do the same. Even Ui Ui can target the soul, despite only having Yuki's research for guidance. - We don't know how Yuji absorbs things by eating them yet. It might be an application of Shrine, it might be because he's half-curse, and it might be because of a weird heavenly restriction messing up how eating cursed objects normally goes. We don't have the full picture, we just know Kenjaku did it on purpose.

One thing you didn’t mention about Geto is that even though he doesn’t have his own domain expansion, he has the capacity to hold cursed spirits that do have domain expansions. Like the one who pulled Toji into her domain before he exorcised her.
if i’d add i also don’t think yuji completely outclasses him in h2h geto at 50% was boxing with a stronger rika than the one that fought sukuna. that same rika was able to hold yuji in place with minimal effort. i do think yuji is superior but i don’t believe the gap is as large as people believe

The reason why I will classify yuji as a potential special grade is because, after 250 chapters he has gotten the first small hint of main character plot armor he deserves. I am so happy for him and I hope he won’t die in the next two chapters because yuji usually doesn’t get treatment this nice : )

Top 10 is insane lowball Outside of Gojo and Sukuna only Yuta most likely beate Yuji Others get decimated from his physicals alone+he can counter domains thanks to SD Yuji is 3rd fastest in the verse and a speedblitz tier above t4 and t5 due to high end scaling to post black flash Sukuna(weaker Sukuna blitzed Maki and could fight Yuta with one hand)
@@bocchiii. I can’t put him above kenjaku, hakari, yorozu, and maybe Miguel. I think Yuji still has some weaknesses. We haven’t seen him use any long range attacks by himself, he hasn’t been shown to be able to move while using simple domain, and he doesn’t have any big finishing moves.

He has enough durability and healing to tank most attacks in the series except for obvious big finishers. Yorozu without Perfect Spere gets clapped and Kenjaku beats him along with Yuta. But his speed is def only below Gojo and Sukuna right now. None of the four mentioned can outpace him, especially now after his blackflash amp. I mean he was keeping up with domain amped Yuta and was even shown in one of the panels to outpace him.

I think Yuji power up through the series makes sense (as it was explained through the last few chapters) his growth is exponential and he becomes as strong as the challenge needs him to be, which is a dangerous line writing wise. JJK plays on that line all the time, Sukuna is also written that way with almost too perfect special and secret skill to every new situation. I love JJK but it often appears to be either exponential growth, and straight up plot armor.

well in yuji's defense, a domain expansion is based on your cursed technique, and yuji kinda just got a cursed technique a month ago. So if he hasn't even mastered the cursed techniques he just gained, theres no chance in hell he could make a domain expansion with said cursed techniques at this point. I think in the future he very likely would be able to make a domain expansion, but first needs to gain mastery over either blood manipulation / shrine (or even both) before attempting to do so.
What if Yuji had a domain similar to malevolent shrine, but directly takes blood that the slashes cause, and give yuji that blood back? It would both support yuji, and hurt his opponent!

I think the biggest issue for Yuji is that his abilities are amazing in fights with 1 or 2 opponents, but he could not take over a country with them. All the other special grades have techniques with wide enough destructive ability to wipe out masses.

weird thing is in episode 1 of the dubbed jujutsu kaisen (might be unreliable due to localization but im too lazy to use the japanese version myself), it's said that yuji can run 50 meters in 3 seconds and also faster than megumi's car, which i think should be some decently high speed idk lol edit: watched more of the anime and i have a couple of things to note (spoilers incoming) 1. this dude manages to hit mahito so hard he HITS HIS SOUL through raw strength and cursed energy, right after junpei got transfigured 2. he manages to break into mahito's domain with little to no cursed energy. i know it isn't super hard to break into one but this combined with other feats is pretty notable 3. right as kasumi casted her simple domain (mind you, he was getting rushed from every side and had little time to react), this dude dodged it with NO damage. bro got them op reaction times (you could say speed here but it's kinda established that this dude has lightning speed anyway with the fact above and below) 4. just before he started fighting todo, he threw a punch at him (i think it was embed with cursed energy) that even todo got shocked by. mind you, this is the same guy that dashed while holding megumi through several stories of a construction sites in less than 15 seconds (maybe not but close enough) 5. during the semi-spar battle against todo after befriending him, while throwing punches, even todo ends up having to block (and using the sound you can hear that his punches are pretty hefty too), and not only that but todo also comments that yuji is slightly stronger than him despite his small body, i think this might just establish his strength is that of todo (possibly even more) and endurance of 60^10 brick walls mind you, all of this is very early into the anime and the only thing he knows about is divergent fist and how to channel cursed energy, no cleave, no black flash, no blood manipulation, none of that. just raw strength and cursed energy . give him more time to learn cursed energy, techniques, etc etc? dude would turn the power system into 10 levels and STILL be special grade, even at the time of me watching the anime i still think he's decently 1st grade, buuut im sure as i advance i can definitely call him special grade edit numero 2: just finished the manga (up to chapter 261 of writing), and uhhhhhh yeah i'm pretty sure i was nearly right, he's RRREEEEEAAAALLLYYYY strong

Cleave and Dismantle are two different things Cleave: Requires contact and the cut adjust itself depending on the defense of the enemy. Dismantle: basically long range slashes which sukuna always use Yuji just haven't learned dismantle yet.
They should make his domain something like 0.2 sec domain like Brutal Beatdown and his signature move probably be something like Cleaving Blood where Yuji starts using Piercing Blood and then when it starts traveling he uses a Cleave going through it or mixing with it where it will stream through almost ANY cursed technique and if it hits the heart then there is a 60% chance of death of the person who got attacked

Id also like to mention that it is impled that Yuji only awakened shrine in the fight with Sukuna. It said that after the black flash flurry in that in the zone state was when the engraved technique shrine awakened. This means he just learned how to use the technique and is still managing impressively well with it.
I have a few things to just like boost yujis case first of all, he just got trying like literally right after a awakening he unlock the ability to use shrine second when the narrator said he has a potential to equal Sukuna he was basically saying that because he is the son of Sukuna‘s twin and kenjaku he has the same potential as Sukaina, also it makes sense that he doesn’t have a domain because once again he’s only had his technique for a month with a bad teacher and his other new techniques shrine he’s had for like five minutes anyways I think eventually by the end of the hopefully be able to unlock some sort of expansion or maybe mimic fuga but give him some more credit.

I don't really keep up with everything JJK related, but it sounds like Yuji is poised to become something of a 'Jack of All, Master of None' kind of deal. Which may not be very powerful in the short term, but in the long run it can create a legend. It actually kinda reminds me of Delsin from Infamous Second Son; instead of being able to master a single conduit power, he absorbs the powers of other conduits and has a versatile arsenal to overcome an array of challenges.
I think hes a VERY high Grade 1 in the the verse (up to date manga chapter 260). I think if/when he figures out a Domain Expansion is when we can start having the conversation of him being the 5th official Special Grade.

yuji didnt have any ability to apply to a domain until recently to defend my boy. He prepped w what he had at the time which was uiuis soul swap and his blood manipulation and neither of these could give him a domain. at the time of the fight he had just received the “shrine” ability and was figuring it out on the fly so it doesnt make sense that he could use the hardest ability in jujutsu even if sukuna was in his body for yuta to experience and learn it

While they might just be a respresentation to show who's currently using Shrine (To help us follow the fight better), I think it's a representation of how Yuji perceives the technique. Sukuna uses Shrine soley as a weapon to Dismantle, Cleave, and destroy anything nearby. Yuji, meanwhile, may see it as more of an "Arts & Crafts" thing, cutting to create something new.

I think he’s special grade simply for the reason that he’s made it this far in the fight. He’s the only one that has been scrapping with sukuna since after kashimo. All first grades have died or have been injured heavily extremely quickly. The only exception is ino, and that’s because he knew his role.

It's a bit complicated defining who fits the description for being a "Special Grade" sorcerer, and it's because people don't make the distition between a Special Grade level fighter and someone who fits the official Jujutsu society's system definition of "Special Grade", which according to Kenjaku is someone capable of overthrowing a country, whether physically or politically/socially. Ryu, Uro, Uraume, Maki, Yuji and some other characters at their tier of power are as strong or stronger than Geto or Yuki but would still not fit the description in my opinion, one of them can create an entire army of curses and the other generate enough mass to cause mass (😉) destroction. This is why a character like the principal Yaga, wich is not touching any of those, was at one point almost considered a "Special Grade", since he could have potentially created an army of hundreds if not thousands of puppets of the level of Panda (Grade 1).

- Yuji isn't a Death Womb Panting, only his brothers are. (Death Womb Paintings are named for a specific art piece about the stages of decay, and Yuji isn't part of that.) He might still be half curse, but it's technically unconfirmed. Either way, a half-curse it just a half-curse, while the Death Womb Paintings are cursed objects made from the fetuses of half-curses.
- Yuji gained the ability to create blood from cursed energy from eating his siblings, and doesn't have that ability naturally. This is solely an application of his ability to acquire abilities by eating cursed objects.
- Yuji's ability to strike the soul isn't a cursed energy trait, it's just good aim. His time as a vessel combined with Yuki's research has given him the ability to target the soul. Maki (who can see souls) and Sukuna (who was also a vessel) can do the same. Even Ui Ui can target the soul, despite only having Yuki's research for guidance.
- We don't know how Yuji absorbs things by eating them yet. It might be an application of Shrine, it might be because he's half-curse, and it might be because of a weird heavenly restriction messing up how eating cursed objects normally goes. We don't have the full picture, we just know Kenjaku did it on purpose.

One thing you didn’t mention about Geto is that even though he doesn’t have his own domain expansion, he has the capacity to hold cursed spirits that do have domain expansions. Like the one who pulled Toji into her domain before he exorcised her.

The reason why I will classify yuji as a potential special grade is because, after 250 chapters he has gotten the first small hint of main character plot armor he deserves. no he's not, yuji is not anywhere close to maki or toji's level as they dominate him in every physical state level. Soul attacks aren't the best against them as they can visualise the soul and they have higher durability then even people like yuta who are stronger then yuji. Stop over hyping yuji everything he's gained thus far does not compensate for how maki and toji are counters for 99% of the abilities in the jjk verse purely by their presence alone. Yuji right now is only fairing based on help from others and incredibly favourable circumstance. If you put him in any other situation he isn't landing a hit on sukuna let alone toji and maki whos speed has been demonstrated to be equal if not faster then 15f sukuna who yuji ain't beating.
Yujis blood manipulation isn't on the level of chosos and is frankly useless as its not gonna do much, simple domain isn't anything to sneeze at as its a simple domain and a lot of counters exist in the verse and shrine is incredibly low in its output seeing as how maki tanked way more dangerous slashes form sukuna and multiple black flashes from him which btw sukuna could only do cause he fought against maki and awakened. Even claiming that yuta and others like higaruma were nothing more then appeteizers for his eventual fight against her

@@biasedpotato8511 Hakari has like zero AP bruh and Yuji has basically everything. His RCT is only below Sukuna, Gojo and Hakari. Top 5 RCT. Top 5 Dura. None of those weaknesses matter at all tbh. He has enough durability and healing to tank most attacks in the series except for obvious big finishers. Yorozu without Perfect Spere gets clapped and Kenjaku beats him along with Yuta. But his speed is def only below Gojo and Sukuna right now. None of the four mentioned can outpace him, especially now after his blackflash amp. I mean he was keeping up with domain amped Yuta and was even shown in one of the panels to outpace him.
Great video as always ! I think Yuji power up through the series makes sense (as it was explained through the last few chapters) his growth is exponential and he becomes as strong as the challenge needs him to be, which is a dangerous line writing wise. JJK plays on that line all the time, Sukuna is also written that way with almost too perfect special and secret skill to every new situation.
I love JJK but it often appears to be either exponential growth, and straight up plot armor.

well in yuji's defense, a domain expansion is based on your cursed technique, and yuji kinda just got a cursed technique a month ago. So if he hasn't even mastered the cursed techniques he just gained, theres no chance in hell he could make a domain expansion with said cursed techniques at this point. I think in the future he very likely would be able to make a domain expansion, but first needs to gain mastery over either blood manipulation / shrine (or even both) before attempting to do so.
What if Yuji had a domain similar to malevolent shrine, but directly takes blood that the slashes cause, and give yuji that blood back? It would both support yuji, and hurt his opponent!

weird thing is in episode 1 of the dubbed jujutsu kaisen (might be unreliable due to localization but im too lazy to use the japanese version myself), it's said that yuji can run 50 meters in 3 seconds and also faster than megumi's car, which i think should be some decently high speed idk lol
edit: watched more of the anime and i have a couple of things to note (spoilers incoming)
1. this dude manages to hit mahito so hard he HITS HIS SOUL through raw strength and cursed energy, right after junpei got transfigured
2. he manages to break into mahito's domain with little to no cursed energy. i know it isn't super hard to break into one but this combined with other feats is pretty notable
3. right as kasumi casted her simple domain (mind you, he was getting rushed from every side and had little time to react), this dude dodged it with NO damage. bro got them op reaction times (you could say speed here but it's kinda established that this dude has lightning speed anyway with the fact above and below)
4. just before he started fighting todo, he threw a punch at him (i think it was embed with cursed energy) that even todo got shocked by. mind you, this is the same guy that dashed while holding megumi through several stories of a construction sites in less than 15 seconds (maybe not but close enough)
5. during the semi-spar battle against todo after befriending him, while throwing punches, even todo ends up having to block (and using the sound you can hear that his punches are pretty hefty too), and not only that but todo also comments that yuji is slightly stronger than him despite his small body, i think this might just establish his strength is that of todo (possibly even more) and endurance of 60^10 brick walls
mind you, all of this is very early into the anime and the only thing he knows about is divergent fist and how to channel cursed energy, no cleave, no black flash, no blood manipulation, none of that. just raw strength and cursed energy . give him more time to learn cursed energy, techniques, etc etc? dude would turn the power system into 10 levels and STILL be special grade, even at the time of me watching the anime i still think he's decently 1st grade, buuut im sure as i advance i can definitely call him special grade

Cleave: Requires contact and the cut adjust itself depending on the defense of the enemy.
Dismantle: basically long range slashes which sukuna always use
Yuji just haven't learned dismantle yet.
They should make his domain something like 0.2 sec domain like Brutal Beatdown and his signature move probably be something like Cleaving Blood where Yuji starts using Piercing Blood and then when it starts traveling he uses a Cleave going through it or mixing with it where it will stream through almost ANY cursed technique and if it hits the heart then there is a 60% chance of death of the person who got attacked

Id also like to mention that it is impled that Yuji only awakened shrine in the fight with Sukuna. It said that after the black flash flurry in that in the zone state was when the engraved technique shrine awakened. This means he just learned how to use the technique and is still managing impressively well with it.
I have a few things to just like boost yujis case first of all, he just got trying like literally right after a awakening he unlock the ability to use shrine second when the narrator said he has a potential to equal Sukuna he was basically saying that because he is the son of Sukuna‘s twin and kenjaku he has the same potential as Sukaina, also it makes sense that he doesn’t have a domain because once again he’s only had his technique for a month with a bad teacher and his other new techniques shrine he’s had for like five minutes anyways I think eventually by the end of the hopefully be able to unlock some sort of expansion or maybe mimic fuga but give him some more credit.

I don't really keep up with everything JJK related, but it sounds like Yuji is poised to become something of a 'Jack of All, Master of None' kind of deal. Which may not be very powerful in the short term, but in the long run it can create a legend. It actually kinda reminds me of Delsin from Infamous Second Son; instead of being able to master a single conduit power, he absorbs the powers of other conduits and has a versatile arsenal to overcome an array of challenges.
I think hes a VERY high Grade 1 in the the verse (up to date manga chapter 260). I think if/when he figures out a Domain Expansion is when we can start having the conversation of him being the 5th official Special Grade.

yuji didnt have any ability to apply to a domain until recently to defend my boy. He prepped w what he had at the time which was uiuis soul swap and his blood manipulation and neither of these could give him a domain. at the time of the fight he had just received the “shrine” ability and was figuring it out on the fly so it doesnt make sense that he could use the hardest ability in jujutsu even if sukuna was in his body for yuta to experience and learn it

My personal take: See those scissors? While they might just be a respresentation to show who's currently using Shrine (To help us follow the fight better), I think it's a representation of how Yuji perceives the technique.
Sukuna uses Shrine soley as a weapon to Dismantle, Cleave, and destroy anything nearby.
Yuji, meanwhile, may see it as more of an "Arts & Crafts" thing, cutting to create something new.
