You're the only reviewer I've seen that has demonstrated the Shodo brushes with liquid eyeshadows so thank you. It was my first thought when I saw these. I haven't purchased any brushes for a while but these & the Koyo captured my attention so I placed an order. Having dry skin I think the Koyo will work nicely for setting powder as you showed.
As soon as I first touched the bristles, I knew they would work for liquid eyeshadows and since the Shodo brushes are inspired from calligraphy brushes, where in the ink is wet, I was sure it would work well together.
thank you for your hard work to make this video - the techniques you share a re very thoughtful and educational Tor! I am very tempted to pick up the 3D brush since it is. a new favorite shape... but I am on a fude low-buy and am hoping for a new collection end of year from the other kumano artisans :) Kim x
That is totally understandable. I think there will be some new Fude dropping just in time for the holiday rush. I think Rephr has started the ball rolling.
Congrats on getting Rephr PR. Well deserved. Thank you for reviewing Rephr’s newly released Koyo brush and Shodo brush trio. I greatly appreciate that you compared the Koyo brush to the Bobodo CH-1 (❤). Great job demoing the Shodo brushes. Thanks again.
And what an interesting comment about the Koyudo brush! I am going back and forth on this brush because I really don't need it, but the makie is so stunning and the price seems great for the quality, so I want it anyway :D
@@diamarieful aww bless you! Thank you! And yes, the Maki-e on this is stunning and veeeerrrry different from previous releases. Please let me know how it works for you okay?
Hi Tor, fantastic and educational video! I had ordered the Koyo and Shodo brushes earlier today and happened to find and subscribe to your channel. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you so much for your comprehensive review of this unique Rephr release, which I will use as a tutorial when my brushes arrive. Originally I tried to save some money and planned to order only the Koyo brush. ( as a face brush companion to my Sonia G cranes maki-e eye set ). But the Koyo brush as a single is already sold out on the European Rephr site. Luckily the Kōyō and Shodō set was still available and I found and used the link on your community page to show my appreciation for all the Fude and MUA knowledge you share with us. ( maybe you can add the Koyo&Shodo set purchase link in the description box of this video - I only found the single links with this video ). Autumnal "Koyo" greetings from Germany to Manila dear TorT.
Hello! Thank you for letting me know! I actually had a link for the brushes as a set as well, I must have deleted it by accident. it's now back there. I'm so happy to hear you got them both. I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do. Now that you've mentioned it, the Koyo brush seems to go well beside the Sunset Cranes Maki-e set from Sonia G! That's so awesome! And Thank you for using my links, i truly appreciate it! xoxo
Because of the nature of my job, after every use. Even after vlogging, I wash them as soon as I am done. But I suggest you wash them every 10 days IF you are using one brush for one particluar product or color only. Try "dry cleaning" in between application by dipping the brush in some translucent powder, wait 5 mins., then brush if off on a microfiber towel. If one brush is used for more than one color, I suggest after a week. and dry brush in between. You don't want to have a brush head filled with pigment, it will turn the pigment muddy. If you notice your bristles are already clumping up, it's time to wash them. If you start to question weather your brush needs to be washed, just wash it. heheheh Then for long wear formulas, creams and gels. after every use so that they won't stain the brush head.
Hi Tor, when you get the chance, will you review the new formulation of the Givenchy Prisme Libre loose powder. I love this powder and I have been hearing disappointments about the reformulation. I would trust your expert analysis. Thank you!

I really need the koyo brush as I’m heavy handed with blush and bronzer but it’s already out of stock 😢
@@greenbeauties sorry to hear that! But worry not, as per Rephr, there will be a restock by early next year. 😉
