- Here is Bluecoats 2016. It's not 100% accurate, but I hope you enjoy nonetheless. I recommend headphones for the tuba parts. I want to apologize for the lack of trombone glissandos everywhere - I simply can't make it sound right in Finale. I've loved working on this show the past month or so. Feel free to leave your input. As a trumpet, 2:25 - 3:10. I can't play past a high A, but only been playing for 3 years. I love how it sounds and I wish I could play like that...
Bleach Man Hey man! Don't get down on yourself. Only 3 years you've been playing and you've got an A above the staff, that's better than I had in the 8th grade. I'm in college now, and trust me when I say your range will improve with age! Once your chops form up, you'll be a-okay (:
slurs & air - thats all it takes. it took me 6 years to get out a solid double C...if you can play the A 1 & 2...then you're on the right partial to pop it man, next time your on an A, try to hold the pitch and slam home 1&2 or the 3rd valve. then use more air. then practice slurs (arrpeggios, octave jumps,pedals.....) then use more air. be constantly focused on moving more air faster, you'll never reach a point where there is "enough air support" thats how we all do it - slurs build the chops and breathing exercises expand the lungs...did Inmention you should use as much air as you possibly humanly can, always????

One easy fix for you - the trombone chords at 7:55 are a D7#9 I believe. The others are parallel to that.

Tuba part is wrong in a lot of places
The entire thing is wrong in a lot of places. It's not going to be completely accurate unless you wanna ask for the sheet music directly from the Bluecoats staff, which they might give, but I highly doubt it. It's still more than accurate enough though.

I love this transcription so much, there's one weird thing I kinda noticed though. Around the 1:07 mark when low brass comes in on beat 2, I'm fairly positive that it's a Bb chord in the low brass with the concert A-E figure in the trumpets, instead of the A-D combo the low brass currently has. That being given, that was the only thing I heard that wasn't pretty spot on. Love it!

What instrument sounds are you using? The standard MIDI sounds or some of the Garritan sounds? I am trying to figure out what instrument sounds to use when using Finale 2014 for transcriptions
This is the standard MIDI setup for Finale, I haven't purchased Garritan or anything like that. I find the regular Finale sounds are pretty decent compared to other programs.

Casey, could you possibly take out the trumpet and write it alone? I am trying to learn some of this and it's hard finding certain parts. Or any other solutions to finding trumpet sheet music to this.

im currently a junior 3rd year on trumpet that switched from clarinet for marching season, i comfortably play the G on the space above the staff in our field show and have been told i can hit an A or possibly a B is this below, at or above avg?

Im 13 and I can play a high e and I can play most of of the trumpet rhythms in this and some (not all) of the 2015 audition material. I really want to march Bluecoats in the future. Should I audition when I'm 16 or get a year or 2 of open class under my belt first?
I also have 4.5 yrs experience btw
The transcription is really well done, but I've noticed(after having listened to this a number of times) that in measure 189 beat 3 and measure 197 beat 3 there is clashing that sounds very out of place. I'm not intending to be overly critical, just trying to help out.
Do you transcriptions for other people (i.e. if I sent you something to transcribe)?

Daniel Pasion well most DCI people are in highschool or all ready graduated so of course they can play those those notes, not to mention everyone who attends DCI usually are the best of the best their age
