I love this band and I can’t believe that people dismissed this band just because of it. I mean it has some awesome beats!!!!!!!! this song helped me a lot , it cheers me up when I’m sad , because when I listen to this I just can’t help but be happy!!!!!!! ......Oh oops I’m sorry I sometimes get carried away when it comes to bands that I like >/////
They are such an amazing band. Like 99% of their songs are uplifting and relatable. It carry's over to the drummer Jen Ledger's side band LEDGER. LEDGER is my favorite band. Her music has helped and saved my life. So I will always appreciate and respect Jen. It even kind of bugs me when I see people only comment about her looks when she is way more then just a pretty face. She is a genuinely good sweet person. When you hear someone say they are beautiful on the inside and out. That is her. But both Skillet and LEDGER are my playlist when i'm working. It helps make a 8 hour shift go faster when you are listening to music that is encouraging you.

You should also definitely listen to their song "Stars" shack version, and what that is, is actually a movie starring Sam Worington that starred in Avatar and it's a beautiful movie too
I've seen 3 of the 4 current band members driving around the road or eating at local restaurants where I live. The guitarist was the best as she was driving a black convertible and I didn't even know it was her. I liked her car and that's what I noticed. Found out later who was driving that car. Crazy. It absolutely was her. As far as the lead singer, someone told me "hey, the lead singer of some rock band lives right there" and I was helping him do work. Sure enough about 2 hours later he drives by and I'm like, "oh. Yeah, I guess that is him." I was still more impressed by the tree I planted....a HUGE tree. If you've got the money, you can plant pretty big trees rather than wait 10 years for them to grow. You pay the price, but you'll get your shade in a year or two instead of a decade or more. I'm not a huge fan, but I know people who are.

May I suggest 4 songs in this genre? 2 of these have helped me through some really desperate times, 1) Found by The Letter Black. 2) You Say by Lauren Daigle. The River by Decipher Down is about baptism. Courtesy Call by Thousand Foot Crutch is a metaphor about the end times in the book of Revelations. I have many MANY more suggestions in many other genres if you care to hear them.

This is probably my favorite of their songs, although I know a lot of people like their song Monster(s?). Cool thing is, I don't have to assign a god to the song to have it work for me. Obviously, I know they are a Christian band. I am definitely not. But the song is still great and I choose to embrace the message of empowerment. 🤘

@@B0mber44 Skillet has no edge compared to Mindless Self Indulgence or Nine Inch Nails, they have no philosophy compared to Tool or System of a Down, and they have no capacity to elicit emotion like Radiohead or the Deftones and Skillet has no boundary-pushing technical skill like any other bands already mentioned. Skillet sings platitudal lyrics played to by-the-numbers rock. Life is short, stop wasting your time chewing on toast like Skillet and consume stuff with a little more taste.
