What do you guys think of this rework? Is there anything you think I missed? Would love to hear your opinions on this potential rework and don't forget to boost this video with a like!
I don't think the different colors would be realistic, but instead we could have flashlights that just give off a very bright light and basically acts like a constant, worse flashbang as you said in the start of the video we could have multiple (white) flashlights with different AOEs, higher AOE makes the handling/reload/ads/movement slower for balancing
Great ideas, though some needs changing. those affects to other players are a bit eehh imo. (in the way that it's a bit too game breaking, imagine some setups pairing lazers and flashlights together. This could end up being quite op.) Stylis does need to make the flashlight useful though, it's begging for it. You forgot to mention that i'm sure there's no way the flashlight would still be unlocked from 0 kills after these changes (I'm sure you'd agree with me.)
Hey Moon! Just wanted to drop in, maybe the flashlight changes could be a part of an entire new gamemode named "Exclusion Delusion" where certain guns are disabled, but the enabled ones have unique abilities that aid the user or harm the enemy, alongside each light/laser attachment having their own special changes. Or the more assumable and likely route, Stylis may add this but tweak the abilities to make it less annoying to fight against. Edit: some guns are going to be hella meta if this idea becomes real, so abilities can't be too broken (example being an auto-spot AoE around you)
My personal idea for a flashlight rework: Same AOE idea, but instead of blinding the enemy or messing with their UI, it automatically spots them without needing to press E
A lot of good ideas in this video, I've been working on a similar video to this one over the last week and I'm excited to see how our ideas on this mesh together. As longtime players, I think PF could use some serious reworks but would greatly benefit the game over time 🎉
In my opinion the yellow one needs a completely different idea, as it might give people motion sickness and as someone who has a rare phobia of spinning objects, this would be a nightmare for me.
@@magpineapple Its a bit complicated, but most things that are in a spinning or repeatedly swinging motion cause me a burst of nervousness and slight panic for a few minutes.
My take is just making the player hallucinate enemies that cant be interacted with for up to 5 seconds after flash. 1 second of exposure is required for the max 5 sec, so 0.2 sec is 1 second.
tbh flashlights are really only useful if there was a really dark map in the game, whether you have shaders on or off. other than that it can be detrimental cus it can alert people to your location tbh the solution you came up with was really good tho couldn't have thought of it myself lmao
They could lower recoil very slightly , after all the heavier the gun the less kick . The maglight would slightly decreases mobility for slightly lower recoil due to its weight . The blinding mechanic could be made better by making the light visible from range thus giving you a cqc advantage while making you very noticeable from range . Lastly they could auto spot enemies in your line of sight up to a range
I absolutely love this rework idea! Blinding enemies is such an Airsoft CQB thing to do, but let's add the option to have switch pads like in Zero Hour. Where the light will turn on or off depending if the player is ADS-ing or firing from the hip.
3:23 Instead of colors i was thing low-med-high intensity flashlights. They would have ranging AOE's, and effectiveness. But would mainly consist of the blinding effect. While your concepts are neat, I don't see any real pratically in a gun attachment. As most of them would struggle to be good in pratice. Since 90% have the counterplay of just shooting the guy. Instead, your debuff could be employed by EM dispersors. Employed like grenades these items these item sit and radiate their AOE over a given range, they can be destroyed by being shot, they are easy to find because they emanate a white noise effect. For the first option, a simple Chaff grenade could be used, but im gonna add an IFF scrambler, inverting enemy and allies one the minimap. The green and blue would be bundled into one as the HUD scrambler. The blue flashlight concept is converted into the F.U.M.B.L.E a device that uses ultra low vibrations to mess with hand-eye coridination. It increase recoil across the board and increases reload ADS and even move speed. Basically feeling likely you're moving in molasses. The Orange is concerted into an EMP device, disabling holos and _Fookin laser sights_ along with all this other nonsense. Notably, flashlights are the only ones to be effected by scopes. Giving them the purpose of flashbanging snipers. Now, instead of the color coordination bonus, another concept simply called signalboosting. Wherein if two generators overlap, they give positive effects to allies. EMF acts like a UAV. NTW20x110, anyone? The HUD jammer lets you see enemy and allies HP and ammo. And Fumble just flat out increases your gun's preformance across the board! You even regen HP faster! Now, you can't have two of these at a time, so it encourages a bit of teamwork.
Giving the flashlight a smaller and significantly more focused cone, enough so that it has some use in aiming, would be enough to give it a purpose. It already occupies the same slots as lasers, may as well have it act as a laser alternative.
A lot of people forget that there were night maps during one of the Halloween events a few years ago, actually made torches and the night vision scope useful, that was such a fun event and made gameplay feel different for once. Bring back night maps!
i think the orange flashlight should disable steady aim and make the screen shake more when the enemy is aiming, make the screen spin is pretty strange and it will confuse new players.
Instead of spinning the screen, the yellow flashlight should affect recoil recovery and stuff, and for people using scopes where you have to shift to steady, it will sway the camera much more than usual (before they shift to focus)
There’s a great game on Roblox called Deadline, other than having a night mode that some people choose to use flashlights (with the option of NVGs), it also lights up your screen. It’s harder to see the enemy when it’s pointed at you and essentially blinds you if you are wearing NVGs.
Honestly i would make the in-game night much darker, removed day/light cycle setting. Or made it so flashlight can automatically spot players in short range if they use normal sights. And scope sights would emit a scope glare when pointing within the scope direction
I swear I didn't look at the comments but I think that it would be cool if you were to look at an enemies and ii would makes a white outline around them that any teammate could see
This kind of ideas is what phantom forces needs, i mean, a little over the top, but i can see some counterplay to force sweats to up their game and give use to unused mechanics
fun fact: stylis briefly was considering having a flashlight rework with the future is bright update. this could mainly be seen in the zombie forces beta testing. i have a vid of it on my channel
I know this isn't exactly a universal fix to flashlights but i would love some blackout maps or map varients where the lighting setting does not affect and you actually need to use a flashlight to see. This would also give the nightvison scope a purpose
the original buff idea is a no brainer, but all the other colours seem like questionable game design to me. The only good idea that i can think of that isnt ridiculous is that aiming at a flashlight with a sniper scope causes the light to magnify and blind you from far too
The tradeoff of flashlights: Glint effect that is seen by enemy players from within a large range when your aim cone hits them, similar to sniper scope glints in some Battlefield games. That way, you have to reconsider using flashlights, especially on maps with extra-long sightlines.
Great video my man! however, i believe you could improve upon the flashlight type concept, with those same debuffs and effects, however instead of blue, red and green, make it like, EMP integrated, Tactical, and Special operations? maybe more conventional names and less of a direct bootleg of a laser, hope you do great with this video!
they should make it work like deadline, so they cant really see the enemy that well, plus it should be able to be seen by other players and toggled on and off
I feel like the lower level flashlights that mess with your ui could be easily countered by people who dont read them, and the high level ones like the yellow seem horrifically annoying. anything that messes with your controls can be hard to balance.
this is genius, make a video on how you could add utilities like an adrenaline shot or something like that to give a stat boost, or maybe player accessories such as thermal glasses or or something like that.
In cod you could run around with a shotgun equipped with a flashlight to blind everyone you shoot at, this is a good idea, but annoying to go against obviously
I think for the yellow flashlight since it's supposed to be used on sniper maps instead of spinning the screen it should in increase the aiming sway of an enemy
since flashlights normally are used to see enemies better, i think they should mark enemies and put them on radar within a cone infront of the player. also you could have a strong flashlight that doesnt reveal people but adds camera recoil
I was thinking that the flashlight, could automatically spot enemy’s, and have each of the effects you stated, but just bit less severe, also, the flashlight could also reduce camera recoil just a bit.
the only mechanic im not fond of is how to get them. im cool with the idea of not being able to prebuy flashlights however i don't really like that you need have the maglight to get them. i think they should be unlocked at 400 kills and up by 200 kills from there. Also i think the maglight shouldn't have its own mechanics rather, it should increase other flashlight ranges. Great video, Even greater idea.
we really need to have a system in the game where you unlock unique attachments and guns with kills. Being able to prebuy everything kind of sucks, and it would give rank 200+ players who have every gun unlocked another incentive to play.
Maybe they could also do something about the flashlight and bullet tracers like in real life. It could increase suppression or something just an idea to throw out.
i think it should increase the radius around your cursor that you can spot in, instead of having to point directly you can vaguely spot in their direction, with a 10 degree margin of error.
i feel like your original "make it just friggin' uhh blind you i guess" was better then the unhinged three paragraph essay you followed it up with afterwards
By the way, have they fixed that BS bug when you can't see anything with certain scopes? I had the issue of some scopes turning completely white due to "sun", despite having literally all settings off. As someone who had to play "flashed" due to that bug, flashlight would be annoying
I dont really care about flashlight much, but i think they should make flashlight to be permanent attachment to every gun in the game and make a button to turn on/off it so it could be useful? But nonetheless the think i want to be in the game is flashbang or smoke bomb, regular grenade already have the smoke particles after the grenade exploded so i hope they could make it deal reallow damage but can blind/cover the player screen with grey smoke
Make a video about Five-0's unreasonable recoil pls. (Ok a bit of context, if you put 9mm in Five-0 it should lower the recoil right? It does, but why it still so high?)
Some form of the first idea for the flashlight being a weaker flashbang I could see working with some tweaks (to ensure there's fair counter-play and it's not just the one who uses flashlight that wins), but everything else with the colors and stuff seem way too exotic, bizarre, and frankly unrealistic for phantom forces. Sure, there are some bizarre and unrealistic melees, but they don't effect gameplay, they are just cosmetic. It's also not very intuitive or new player friendly, you wouldn't expect your screen to rotate or your ammo count to lie to you because someone was using a weirdly colored flashlight. Also consider what it would be like playing against these flashlights: it wouldn't really add another dimension to the gunfights, it would just be that you get nerfed whenever you happen to be in the AoE of one... and it would give even more reasons to not go CQB with anything other then a shotgun. Seems to me like it would just be an annoyance rather then an interesting gameplay dynamic to actually think about. With the original idea with the flashbang flashlight, I think that could work. For counter-play sake I think it would be a good idea to have the flashlight beam be visible to the enemy team, just not using the dynamic light system but a transparent image (like how Jailbreak does spotlights, if you've seen that), and maybe buff the blinding effect to balance that out. I think something like that could actually add some depth to the gameplay, getting an advantage in head to head combat for aggressive gameplay, but losing stealth. You would think differently about engaging a flashlight-user, trying to figure out where he's looking and flank him with the extra information given.. and the flashlight-user would have to think differently, figuring out how to engage enemies without being expected and being weary of who knows his location.
Honestly I'd say let equipping a flashlight extend the amount of time a player is Spotted for while holding that weapon. (Doubling up would make it insane.)
yellow lasers reduce rotatinal recoil a good example is using a green laser on kriss and then try using a yellow on kriss as the recoil is slightly better or on tommy gun were its the same i only know this because I tested the lasers out with different attchemtns to see how they work
i really like the idea and i could have never thought of anything better, but different colored flashlights would like be a copy and based instead they could be different kind of things like ecm jammers (red and green) and for the blue flashlight there isnt any alternative neither for the yellow imo but ye really good concept now they should add back the equipment and actually make it a thing and imo it could be a bit similar to payday 2's perk decks/skills you select a equipment lets say its a perk deck which if you spot an enemy they will take 10% plus dmg imo that would be good but kinda op anyway idk any other person's thoughts so lmk and if you see this please make a vid about it cuz i wanna know your thoughts on this idea
Im gonna be honest, these ideas are nice but too game changing for a game like pf, it would be better if the flashlight added weight to your gun and lowering recoil based on its position, and maybe give it use like the BT but only at a certain range
There are 2 things i wonder about your video. First is the MP10 built-in flashlight, what effect will it have, Second is the potato grip which also has a built-in flashlight
I think that flashlight should somehow buff spotting so that anyone "seen" by the flashlight would automatically get spotted. depending on how OP this is, it may or may not would get a buff increasing the radius of the flashlight compared to it now. the use would make it effectively slightly reduce gun performance in exchange for extra XP playing the game. The MP10 would maybe get a slight damage 0 and 1 range nerf of 5 studs to compensate for the built-in flashlight (since it is already a fairly decent gun). Also, turning off the flashlight on the mp10 should give a slight movement speed buff to give it a purpose to use
@@devnandannair2336 well if you have a thing called the m16a3 you will get the kill before others also when others kill someone you spotted you actually get the +25 spotting bonus so i wouldnt mind as much
Bro took from making flashlights useless to making them unbearably OP 💀 And flashlights blinding your screen will just be more of a nuisance, other games have it and yet nobody uses it for that reason🗿
What do you guys think of this rework? Is there anything you think I missed? Would love to hear your opinions on this potential rework and don't forget to boost this video with a like!

Only problem with removing the red dot sights is the homemade sight, it technically doesn’t have a red dot as it’s just painted one there

i really like the idea and i could have never thought of anything better, but different colored flashlights would like be a copy and based instead they could be different kind of things like ecm jammers (red and green) and for the blue flashlight there isnt any alternative neither for the yellow imo but ye really good concept now they should add back the equipment and actually make it a thing and imo it could be a bit similar to payday 2's perk decks/skills you select a equipment lets say its a perk deck which if you spot an enemy they will take 10% plus dmg imo that would be good but kinda op anyway idk any other person's thoughts so lmk and if you see this please make a vid about it cuz i wanna know your thoughts on this idea
I think that flashlight could just only blind yourself and depending on the color.

Clearly if you spotted people every time you saw them it would be hell cuz your kills would always be stolen by your teammates
@@devnandannair2336 well if you have a thing called the m16a3 you will get the kill before others
also when others kill someone you spotted you actually get the +25 spotting bonus so i wouldnt mind as much
STYLIS, TAKE NOTES!
Idk i just use it to make my guns look extra tacticringe and also a placeholder for the "other" attachment slot and im not a big fan of lasers
This is a comment for the algorithm, here ya go, King.
I love moons fps studio
Bro you should be a creator and help. The flashlight idea is insane love the idea
cool idea stylis should maybe add
what if i just put a flashlight in every part of my gun including the stock & the ammo
Bro took from making flashlights useless to making them unbearably OP 💀
And flashlights blinding your screen will just be more of a nuisance, other games have it and yet nobody uses it for that reason🗿
What about the trilaser?
