Thanks for teaching the true biblical meaning of Jer 29:11 and not what our itching ears want to hear. God has a good plan for our lives which includes disciplining us for our disobedience and to teach us to trust in him, not the false prophets and teachers which include the prosperity preachers.

I’m just a sinner saved by God’s grace and mercy through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Maybe I’ll make a video about getting to know me and sharing my testimony one day.
I think this quote relates to the main message of The Book of Job. Each suffering, pain, illness, misfortune has a certain purpose, sense or reason. Nothing is by chance and we should believe that there is a purpose of each suffering even though most of the time it remains hidden. If it is a God's plan with a purpose, we should accept that and believe it is necessary and purposeful.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. The above verse takes me right over too - Jeremiah 31:17 And there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord, that thy children shall come again to their own border. This verse is talking about how God was disciplining Israel for their own good. So they would come back to him. I believe it still applies today. Trust and obey is the best way.

Quick story time... a painter had came to my house to figure what color would look the best on the walls and I told him what color I thought would look the best and he said he was thinking the same color I was thinking . Later he asked me what did I want to do in the future and I told him “I’m looking forward to being an architect” he replied “you would be a good one”. A few minutes go by and he tells me “God has been pushing me to tell you this , read the verse Jeremiah 29:11” I read it and I felt sooo good because it just hit me like woah. Lastly, I went up stairs and talked to God about it as I cried tears of joy.
The best way to know God's will is to fill your mind with the Bible and pray for wisdom. The bible is like guardrails ... as long as the choices you make don't go against the revealed will of God in the bible, you are choosing God's will - which means you have a lot of freedom to make wise choices within the guardrails of God's will!

God Bless You It seems to be a general consensus that this verse is for a specific people and a specific time and not to take it as a promise for God’s people today. But isn’t that true of every scripture. None of them was written directly to me or you. Everyone was written to someone specifically somewhere but the word of God is to the people of God. If it is not for us then why is it there? You can just ignore it and a thousand others but despite of that fact you still draw points and principles that we can learn from this scripture and most of them is exactly what it already says I agree that sometimes the context determines the interpretation but not that the promises don’t apply otherwise no promises apply including John 3:16 because he was talking to the disciples Be Blessed Brother Pastor
