That Plaid launched really soft. Looked like he had Obstacle-Aware Acceleration still turned on (it's set "on" by default from the factory). All those spectators lined up would have set off the sensors.

@@mousepotato581 You can't mod a Plaid and make it go faster like a gas car bro lol. There's just top speed limiters that get changed by updates that have nothing to do with 1/8 or 1/4 mile racing. There's some other Tesla models that got nerfed by the updates which sucked for those owners.

@@CrazyPanda688 A plaid is always faster than a corvette. You'll need to strap a rocket propeller on a Corvette to match the acceleration on a plaid that's not limited.
@@EMMANUELIWUOHA. several c7 zr1's launch harder than a plaid, I think the record for a c7 zr1 is 8.3 at 162/163 mph in the 1/4. This was no stock zr1 though, but it still will 60' better than a plaid whether on the street or the track

Good race👍, that vett is niceee. I would still take the Plaid over the vett. Much more reliable with that much horsepower. You can take it to the track and run 9 seconds all day long and then go to the movies and get something to eat, Lol. Not hating I love vett's too

Did you include charging time???? You state 9 seconds all day. Just like any other battery operated appliance or tool, the harder you and/or faster you run it the shorter time between plugging it into the magical hole in the wall.

Very soft launch from the Tesla. I don't believe this 1 second. The Plaid smokes any stock Corvette any day. Period.

I've spanked Plaids with a STOCK C8 on the street from stoplight to stoplight under 100mph which is the range most street races take place. If they're not drag race prepped they're not as impressive as people think. Way over hyped.

Stock C8s are mid 10-sec cars. The base model S is a 10.8 car. The Plaids are more than a full second quicker and almost 20 MPH trap speed higher than the C8. On the unprepped street, the Plaid has a significant advantage…all the way to 216 MPH now.
@Mr1T2X1 Takes almost 10min to prep on full battery. C8 launch control takes 2 seconds to do. Like is said, the fact is that I've already beaten multiple Plaids stoplight to stoplight in a stock STINGRAY C8. Sorry that bothers you so much.

Ok I’m gunna go out on a limb here. As a corvette guru (currently have a modded C7Z A8) m, had several modded C7 Z’s and c6 Zr1’s this ain’t adding up. I do not believe that was a plaid. I’m thinking maybe a P90 or something but I have a hard time believing that’s a real plaid. I’m as diehard American muscle as you can get but I’m not a fanboy and yeah although I’m team vette this ain’t adding up.

As a current Plaid owner and past ZR1 owner. There's no way in heaven or hell that a the Plaid isn't going to walk pretty much ANY car from a dig on the street. Much less a rear drive on public road. On a track it's a different story. I haven't had anyone come close to me from a dig or a roll. If you come up on a Plaid, trust me you'll know. That's facts from someone who's has hands on experience with both cars.
