Very clever engineering in this system, and yes guilty as charged it's actually therapeutic to watch. I seem to remember from many many years ago, there was a rear loader designed with a very similer screw system. Wether or not it actually took off I don't know...
not sure if it is at all possible but could you imagine a split screen showing the front auger and the rear of the truck as the refuse is pushed thru? that would be awesome!!
I'd love to have a truck like this! And end of day clean up is really a breeze with no blade to clean behind. Maybe the only maintenance might be clearing anything that might have got wrapped around the auger. I love how the hopper is basically fully cleared by the time the bin hits the ground and you drive off to the next pickup. I would love to see how it manages when the truck is basically packed out, I bet things turn into a bit of a mess in the hopper. Great editing too, I'm sure you will learn some cool editing tricks with the new software. Funny how there were two basically identical toy cars in two different bins emptied into the truck sequentially at 0:30 - 0.45. Do you hear things getting broken down by the auger from inside the cab and wonder that might have been?
I always keep my eye out. Lol. Luckily when something heavy falls that could stop it up, I can hear the load thud thru the truck. So it always gets my attention. But yes, there is no clean up. I’ve never had anything get wrapped around the auger. Also it’s a sealed bed that has no blade & no chutes which means no leaks & helps keep the truck cleaner. I couldn’t imagine having to go back to a traditional pack truck. I plan to retire in this thing 😂
The only issue I have is when items that shouldn’t be in there such as children hiding in bins, bodies and pets that are being disposed of in a disrespectful manner
Very interesting video, unbelievable the things people throw in their wheelie bins, who put's an upright vacuam cleaner in there bin, dont they recycle where ever this is so much of this could be recycled, i was half expecting for a car to turn up in the bin..i saw a head at one point hope it was from a mannaquin.
@@terasestHammasratas I just call it the magic door. But its a door located on the inside of the hopper that I can control from inside the cab to make the auger hole bigger if something is stubborn to pack. Saves the auger from a lot of wear & tear.
Yes, it is a dual axle. Personally I don’t like to put more than 12 tons on it a load. But it can hold up to 18 if I need it too which is rare. A buddy got over 19 on his one time. But by doing that much, it wears the auger & breaks down much faster.
I got Adobe so I’m learning that at the moment so I at least made the video longer. I had a few times where my camera got hit & screwed up so these were the two longest, unobstructed videos I got that day. Lol
The Auger/Screw compactor is honestly the most efficient and effective compactor. It’s great at clear trash, but the force that a screw can apply to something is much more than that of ram. The only issue because of the way they compact (through a small hole), you don’t get even compaction across the truck. Some of these other compactors are garbage. The sliding hinge one….That one makes me so mad. Who designed that and thought it was an effective compactor? Takes it 45 years to clear a hopper and it seems like the truck is full after 3 pick-ups.
Dangerous he isn't looking in the bins before tipping what if someone was sleeping or someone had dumped a baby or kittens or a dog in the bin still alive they would be crushed to death that wouldn't be allowed in the uk
I don't know why it was satisfying to finally see that car seat get pulled out the corner.
I run this truck everyday and I still find it satisfying... Lol
I love watching the bulkier items get moved along.

Quick question .. can you control the auger if needed or is it solely linked to the arm movement ?
Yes... I have a panel where I can manually pack without using the joystick. That's also where I can reverse the auger or open/close the magic door.

By far the most effective system for trash. Will be interesting to see how it does when it’s full.
It keeps packin. Holds a lot more than tonnage than a traditional pack blade.
