  • Wotancraft has a line of camera bags that are highly functional, light weight, and looks good. This bag, the "Pilot", comes in a 7L and a 12L version. This video reviews the smaller one.

Would you recommend this bag for a non-photographer? Looking for a crossbody bag - about this size (the Wotencraft looks so lightweight)! I have a Trakke Bairn, which I love, but looking for another option…I like lots of pockets. I welcome other suggestions as you know everything out there (not into leather)…I won’t be using it for a laptop. I usually like urban, sleek (CPL 24) but I also can rock military (Goruck GR1 21L)…I was also thinking about the Code of Bell Sacoche/Annex Liner…look forward to your wisdom.

Nice review, thanks for posting. Would a MacBook Air fit into the main compartment (with a DSLR and lens at the same time)?

I don't think so. I only have a 11 inch iPad pro and that fits with about 0.5 inch to spare.

Finally I found info, that it’s possible to fit 11inch iPad Pro in 7l.

The annex liner, Bairn and the Pilot are all my favs. The liner is smaller (in compressed mode). If I need to take more stuff I use the pilot, otherwise I use the Liner. The Bairn feels like a bigger bag and lacks the loop field inside. Also I am *not* a huge fan of real wax canvas, hence I pick the Pilot over the Bairn.

@@PKShiu thanks so much for writing back. I think the Bairn is a much heavier bag. It's taken weeks and weeks but it is finally softening and conforming to my body. It's 10L (and it feels like it though it doesn't hold a lot because the fabric is so dense). It's a perfect work bag for me, though I'd like webbing for keys and another zippered pocket, a spot for a pen. I'm having such a hard time finding a backpack for my short torso (17," 5'6," 130lbs)...the crossbody bags feel more comfortable and easy to access. I just got a Trakke Largo sling and a Banana during their sale. I do want a great sling (the opposite of the Largo - more sleek, only Black). Backpack-wise I am such an Evergoods fan but I might have to say goodbye to my CPL24 and CHZ22. I need to accept the fact that I can't wear a bag that is beyond 18" long. It's very hard to find in an aesthetic I like. Evergoods nailed it. The bags that work best for me: the TB Synapse 19 and Synik 22. I love the organization and comfort - and length. Well made. It's a shame the next size up of both are too long for me...I bought my first Goruck...a GR2 21L (for travel). Haven't tried it out. I was thinking of getting a GR1 for work....As you can see, my taste is all over the place - but not. If you think of a great backpack for my dimensions. Shout. I love the Alpha One Niner Evade. Too long (and wish the zippers were 10s....Greenroom...not sure the harness system would work for me. Heard the straps are so so...Comfort. I had no idea how hard it is to find...So should I pass on the Granville? Right size. Not fond of lack of protection for my laptop...and the harness system/straps...hmmmmmm...is the bag so thin that one would feel items poking??

Mine id 35cm, measuring from the outside, from the middle of the side pockets to the other side -- think of measuring waist size of a pair of pants.

For such an expensive bag, there doesn’t seem to be much room for a camera and a few lenses. So, where do you place filters and film; if you don’t shoot with a electronic camera? I’m not impressed!
