I really like these new JV modified guitars, especially the 60s versions. With the Stratocaster 60s, the push/pull switch engages the neck pickup not only in position 1 and 2, as stated in the product description on the Fender website, but also in position 3. The difference to position 4 is, that in position 4 (and position 2), the two pickups are engaged out of phase, but in position 3 with the psuh/pull switch engaged (pulled out), the middle pickup and the neck pickup do not seem to be out of phase, or perhaps it has something to do with them being in series vs. parallel. I would like to learn more about the exact wiring of this model.

Why do guitar sellers constantly feel the need to play the instrument in all positions versus a more thorough component and mega-view(s) discussion. Seriously Fender its not gonna sound like that rig and setup with all the variables. I get the hook to get new players, lets get more thorough please.
You lost me at Basswood. The Squier Standards were great, except for the fact that it came with a 2 post tremolo and they tend to blow out into the bridge route. Why use junk woods?
Look fender, why can't you just settle down on the "modern" features that nobody uses and just make a reissue of the JV series, no upgrades, no modern features, just the original JV series.
A 50's Fender should have a 7.25" radius fretboard. The truss rod should be adjusted from the neck heel end, it should have a nitro finish, the body should be ash, alder or pine (not basswood) and it definitely shouldn't have a push-pull knob. So there's basically nothing 50's spec about this Tele model apart from the heel end truss road adjustment.which is the one 50's spec feature I really don't want. The white Telecaster looks nice. I'll give it that.
Juxtaposing "resonant" and "basswood" is an oxymoron. And charging $1,300+ for instruments made out of junk wood is unconscionable. Shame on Fender for such naked greed. While some Japanese-made Fenders used marginal tonewoods, they were at least affordable - these aren't. Shame on the whole industry for substituting lower-grade woods and construction. Fender/Squier for using poplar; Ibanez for downgrading woods throughout their lineup; and even PRS for falling back on poplar and 3-piece toothpick necks. This is like when TV networks convinced viewers to settle for trash (fake, scripted, but cheap-to-shoot) "reality" shows instead of real programming. If you own a pre-2020 instrument (purchased at any price point) built with classic tonewoods and a 1-piece neck, you scored a prize from the 2nd Golden Age of peak value. Keep it! It's a solid basis for electronics and hardware upgrades to make it sound even better.
