As the COO of a bootstrapped startup, I'm on sales & demo calls, I post on social media, I work on design, respond to clients and vendors, audit accounts, import loans, write SOPs, and so on. My background is operations, people, understanding what needs to be done and moving people into those places, and mentoring the next gen of leaders. It's a massively diverse role and one that someday soon will have a different look. My first 30 was: "Welcome to the team..now go get stuff done." I got logged in and grabbed projects I knew were pain points. I road shotgun on calls and took notes and just figured out what needed to be done; highly ambiguous. I didn't know the tech, OS, and SOPs, I just stepped in and directed, closed old deadlines, met our staff, many of whom have other jobs. Very different from an established firm. This creates a bit of anxiety as I'm trying to be a jack of all trades and I need to focus on what I do well and where I add the most value. Really nice work Cameron and team.
