Did you try this routine? What did you think? COMMENT your experience below and be sure to follow it up with my favorite stretching routine for your hips and lower back: th-cam.com/video/nm-fxV-bwWg/w-d-xo.html Hope it helps you to improve and feel better 🙏🏼
I have avoided core exercises for years, primarily because they would hurt my lower back. However I've been doing this one for a few weeks now and no lower back pain and I feel that my core is getting stronger. Great job, thank you for putting this together
This comment motivated me to try this routine because I, too, had to avoid core and ab workouts because they'd always trigger whatever's going on in the back of my hips with some videos even leaving me crippled for the rest of the day, despite not having felt anything wrong during the workout. However, I knew that fixing my weak core would help so I was tentatively searching when I came across this video. Apprehensive, I skimmed through the comments and saw yours which convinced me to finally give it another try. I've been doing it for a few months now and it's one of the most helpful videos I've found; my hips and lower back issues have substantially improved, though not completely clear, it's still been amazing. All this to say, thank you for sharing your experience; it has helped me a ton, as well. 🧡
I am 28 with degenerative disc disease, arthritis in my back, a herniated disc, and a pinched sciatic nerve. I was bedridden and in the ER five days ago, and now I’m up moving and doing mostly normal activities. The only reason I’m up is because I’ve been doing these stretches and exercises multiple times a day. This video has been a lifesaver.
@@carldavesalem3552much better, thank you! I was doing these multiple times a day when I was bedridden, now I try to do them every day. If not, 4-5x a week
I almost died of lower back pain last week. These exercises are helping me tremendously. I’m truly amazed how something so simple can help crippling pain.
I had a terrible back pain since yesterday that i had trouble to walk and i took some pain relief. My husband encouraged me to do some core exercise and i found this video. I followed the video with fear of pain, but after the routine, pain has gone without knowing, so i watch this video again (without following the routine) Amazing! I will do this every day from now on :) thank you Dr Jared!
I've had sciatic pain in my lower back and leg for the past 2 years. I was told to do some core workouts and came across your videos. Thank you for helping me change my life! I've been doing them for the past 3-4 months. Not only is the pain pretty much non existent, it's pushed me to start exercising more in general and i feel like a new human. Thanks again Dr Jared
2 weeks in and its amazing how much more stable my chronic lower back feels. Core muscles I haven't used in years are now back stabalizing. This routine is 100% responsible for my lower back feeling better. Thanks Doc!
I can't thank you enough for that video! I had a chronic lower back pain for maybe an year, have done a lot of yoga, stretching, ec.t without realizing that my core needs to be stronger. I did these exercises only once and the next day the pain was gone! I continue doing them and this is the best I've ever felt with my lower back since giving birth! Thank you!❤🙏
Absolutely love this routine. Not just for back pain, which I have had sporadically in the past and have not since doing this routine, but doing this regularly has really strengthened my core and the results are noticeable. Great stuff!
Finally getting in a good habit with this, amazing for while I'm fasting trying to reset my body and get out of the obese category. I've had back pain since i was 15 but it didn't get to where it made it hard to move until the last year (31).
This has been so amazing during recovery after having 3 spine surgeries and constant awful back pain it's been over a year and had tried everything with no relief at all , I feel like I'm getting somewhere now, zero discomfort while I do these, I've been doing them every day and feeling better so far! 🤞🏻 Thank you so much for this
Hi, Army vet with service-connected sciatica, herniated discs & severe arthritis thru entire lumbar...it has been SO frustrating trying to find intensive core exercises I can do, as I have to modify a lot of typical core workouts that r the higher intensity I need, without causing lumbar flareups...I did 8 full rounds of core-strengthening PT 2015-2019, of which a lot has atrophied due to my design school demands with lots of sitting, minimal time to do my kickboxing (missing workouts for months adds up 😒🥺) *Will give some of these a try, thx so much for the video ☺️✨️
This is amazing! I lifted my 3 year old the wrong way and have the worst lower back pain. I was afraid to try this video and wanted to stick with only stretching but I know that strength is going to help me too. I tried this and it helped so much! None of the exercises were painful at all and my pain is definitely reduced! Going to pair this with the stretching video you recommended and just praying this pain goes away soon and I remember to lift my kiddo a safer way next time. Who knew at 33 years old I would have back issues lifting my child haha
This group of exercises have helped me so much. My low back was in pain so much. Doing these exercises every other day helps. I just do five reps as a beginner and my core and back are feeling fabulous. I added one exercise as an old standby. Lying face down on a Swiss Ball, I do ten reps of hyper extensions with my legs. With this combination of exercises, my back pain is completely gone. Dr. Jared, I am so thankful for your help.
Dr Jared, physio student and martial artist here. Could you please do a video on safe stretches for the hips and posterior chain? Specifically covering ones that should be avoided or replaced? Thank you.
I rarely comment but I wanted to thank you for this video and share my experience from performing the exercises consistently for over a week. I injured myself back a few months ago while I was performing sing,e leg RDLs and this back pain just kept getting worse because most of my day was spent at work sat on a chair. Now that I have been doing these exercises almost every morning, I can already feel a major difference and I feel my core engaged in daily tasks more often than before. Thank you! This is great post L5-S1 hernia surgery. Thanks a lot for getting me on the right track. Have you got another slightly more challenging version of this?
I'm having some lower back pain and have been hunting online for a few days for some good back-strengthening exercises. Out of the 50 or so that I've watched, this is my hands-down favourite! You present it so well and it felt like I was in an exercise class. I just got down on the floor straight away and did the exercises along with you and already feel more relaxed and comfortable in my body. Thank you so much!

as a teenager experiencing lower back pain from sports, doing this in combination with the stretching video has worked wonders. I use this video daily. Thank you so much!
I plan to do these daily after a short stretch routine. After 2x, my biggest observation is those reverse crunches really work up a sweat in only 40 seconds! I know my core is out of shape, but I can totally see how only a few minutes each day can improve your strength. Thank you for making these exercises so attainable in my busy day while giving me confidence they will be effective.
In the past "6 exercises to relieve the back pain" (from tone & tighten) was my go to video whenever i had pain but this new one is also very helpful. Thank you.
You are my favourite TH-camr for exercise! Your credentials/expertise are apparent and you're great at communicating anatomical knowledge - thank you :)
Jared - I will be trying these today. I am 31. Played college football and wrestled my whole life. I teach and coach football and wrestling. I developed stenosis in my back in college (very mild now) and have a herniated disk (not really painful to be honest). However, when I go to workout my core, I literally shake so bad. I am hoping that it's because my core is so weak and not other underlying problems. I am going to give this video a shot.
Thank you so much. I was able to do them all. I have been having reoccurring lower back pain and I think it’s due to inactivity this year. I was able to do all of the exercises. I will be doing this 5 days a week from now on and hopefully the back pain will go away. My core is sore from this first workout. 🙏

This workout is great! I have an extra disc in my lower back which is herniated and it's been killing me the past few days. These exercises provided immediate relief! I wasn't able to do the full workout as I don't have a proper knee support yet (am on the heavier side), so I need to find a solution for that, but the rest is very doable. Will keep doing this the next weeks to see if the pain fully goes away 🤞

This video is saving my life!! For 8 months I’ve been trying different stretches all which seem to just worsen my back pain from driving too much and having a desk job. I found this video 2 months ago and I do this almost every single day, and all of my back pain has been gone!!! I was developing sciatica or something, and I was worried. But now the pain is gone!! Thank you
I recently got a new mattress and was having lower back pain each night after laying on it for about 5 hours. Started doing this route 4 days ago, yesterday was the second time I did it and woke up completely pain free this morning!
I had two kids in less the two years so my core strength is non existent! Most exercise I don’t even feel in my core but my lower back. I’ll be doing this everyday and hopefully over time can begin adding others as my core strengthens.
you should probably stop and try to find what type of pain do you have or you can create your own workout with exercises that doesnt hurt your back@@mernik5599
So glad I found this video!! It's a GAME-CHANGER! I was in so much back pain, and within a few weeks I feel so much better. It's quick and easy and now part of my 5-day routine. THANK YOU!!! Do you have a quick workout for flabby arms or inner/outer thighs? :)
thank you for going through these exercises expeditiously. You are succinct and do a great job of explaining. Also, I trust you since you are a doctor and let us know if the exercise could exacerbate our condition or not. Thank you.
I wanted to burn some fat on my belly so i started doing sit ups this last week then i noticed that my belly started to hurt when i do sit ups and i thought it might be working but my lower back started to hurt after 3 days i started but i thought its normal so i continued doing it until now and i searched why it hurts and what to do to make it stop hurting and i found this video, i still feel the sensation in my belly when doing these exercises but all without the back pain, if anything my back feels good. Thank you for uploading this video.
Hi Dr. Jared, I wonder if you have set of exercises that I can follow for my sore right shoulder& right hip. I’m 71 yrs old and very much prone to arthritis. Looking forward hearing from you. Thank you!
I love this routine, but it doesn't love my SI pain. After using the SI adjustment/? Video, which helped a lot, and then the SI Strengthening video, I lost some weight and my SI felt better. Adding this, at first was awesome. Now I feel like it is aggravating the SI. I still do this, but have modified out anything that challenges the SI. Still love Tone & Tighten. Thanks for helping heal years of back/ SI pain.
What's interesting is last time I did these exercises just once, not only did the pain in my lower back get better, but even my mid back felt better, in that I didn't get sore shoulders from my back pack and that's usually from my mid back/between the shoulder blades muscles, as far as I'm aware. These seem to help from the bottom upwards. They're also quick so they're easier to commit to.
I’m having some severe pain pain and did this for one day and can already feel the difference thanks so much for this but right now I can’t even do the reverse crunch is there a modified one I can do to help it or should I skip that until I can build up my core to do it?? That’s the only one I can’t really do at all.. plz help 😢💜💜✌️
I love this video! Core workouts used to be boring for me (as in past it was just lots of crunches and 6pack workouts). Those whole core exercises are more fun and very effective. Thank for your video content... it's always great!
Oh you're so kind, @ludmilaruzickova742! I agree - those "core" workouts that only work your abs are incomplete and forgetting about other critical muscles. I hope this workout helps you and thanks so much for commenting! 🙏🏼

Thank you
This is amazing news and I appreciate you sharing!
@isaacrobledo2003 Hey, do you still do the desk job?? How are feeling now?
@@vishnuvardhangoud809I still have my desk job and still drive a lot. Keeping this workout consisten 4-6 times per week, I feel good
@@vishnuvardhangoud809 I still do, and my lower back and sciatica issue are still gone thanks to being consistent with this routine
I recently got a new mattress and was having lower back pain each night after laying on it for about 5 hours. Started doing this route 4 days ago, yesterday was the second time I did it and woke up completely pain free this morning!
This is amazing news! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for sharing this… tried it and felt relieved… will keep at it at least 3 times a week
Wonderful news! Glad it was helpful.

I had two kids in less the two years so my core strength is non existent! Most exercise I don’t even feel in my core but my lower back. I’ll be doing this everyday and hopefully over time can begin adding others as my core strengthens.
Hi any progress? Have the same problem, all the abs workout hurt my lower back 😭
hows it feeling now?
you should probably stop and try to find what type of pain do you have or you can create your own workout with exercises that doesnt hurt your back@@mernik5599
Thanks for the exercise lesson. I surely will do these workouts.
You're very welcome, @phillipwarren6050! I hope they help you! Thanks so much for commenting. 🙏🏼
Thank you.
You're so welcome!
You are welcome!
Had a couple of lumbagos in the last 2 years, doing this now consistently daily. Thank you!
You're so welcome!
This is a Godsend 🙌🏻 Thank you!!!
You are so welcome! I hope you find it effective!
You are amazing ! Thank you so much ❤❤❤ love from a nurse ❤
Hi Dr. Jared,
I wonder if you have set of exercises that I can follow for my sore right shoulder& right hip.
I’m 71 yrs old and very much prone to arthritis.
Looking forward hearing from you.
Thank you!
It works!! Thank you boss 😎
Thank you for sharing!
1. Single leg bridges
2. Side plank lift
3. Bird dog
4. Plank
5. Upper circle crunch
6. Reverse crunch
7. Alternating table top toe tap
8. Swimmers
Great video! It really works and the exercises are easy to do and understand. Anyone else think that 8 and 9 are so hard! 😅
You can do it!
Felt better from the get! Maybe it was just the fact that I'm getting a core strengthening workout? THX!
Very nice, no nonsense. Thank you very much.
You're welcome!
This helped me much thanks
No problem!
Just found this channel. Love it!
Welcome aboard!
appreciate your videos
Great exercises thanks
Glad you like them!
Thanks a lot. I love your exercises. God bless!
You're so welcome!
Thank you im going to try this
me too!😁
I love this video!
