- i go to Mexico City to "treat myself" and walk a ton and see literally every piece of art I can find. Mexico City is warm and lively and definitely a city.
approaching these videos as diary entries, a virtual catalog of events to look back on and know that yes, I existed and did things.
Hey Will, I love these travel vlogs lately!
I just wanted to add to your comment about people staring because I notice this a lot. In many Hispanic cultures it's not the norm to want to embrace our African/black/indigenous features. There's a sense of superiority in our cultures when you have Eurocentric features, leading to many people bleaching and/or straightening our hair, and it's not weird to even lighten skin tone.
As someone with social anxiety, I can sense the stares I get from my own people. I'm not Mexican, I'm Dominican and was raised in America, I stopped getting my hair relaxed and grew out my natural hair, which a lot of my family protested at first because I had very long straight "good" hair. Now I often get confused for being African American or mixed both in the states and in DR because people aren't use to seeing us in our natural hair or in protective styles.
But I'm starting to see more and more Latinas embracing their natural hair, so let people stare, it's a wave I hope spreads throughout all Hispanic cultures.

BRRRRUUUUHHHHH let me TELL YOU. I resonated with your smoking talk. But I'll be real. I'm team ban smoking. Team make smoking illegal just as mary j is. I'm for it. Now let me tell you why. YES, people have rights and the right to do what they want with their body. HOWEVER, your right to smoke and mess your lungs up takes away my right to clean air. As someone with asthma and can only breathe through my mouth cause I have such bad congestion, it's bad even doing saline solutions every morning and night. Designated smoking areas do not work BECAUSE smoke is a gas and it travels. So if I'm walking even in the same general area as a smoking zone I risk secondhand even if I'm not IN the area. "Oh but you can leave" Alright. 🥴 but after that first few inhales it's too late. What am I suppose to do. And what if it's an area I HAVE to go through. There's no real benefits. It harms the self. It creates asthmatics, cause attacks, addiction, lung cancer. The only regulation i could be okay with is if it makes you do it at home only and no children live there.
Dang so sorry about your everyday struggle. I agree with you tho. There's NO good reason for it to still allowed as if it's not cancer and disease on a stick. People should be looking at cigarettes like heroin needles. We need that type of shift in perspective.
