Just picked this up today, I hit a 420 foot bomb using the in game metal bat. First time I’ve swung a bat in 6 years, and I’ve never got a homer, even in my little league days. Thank you (and thanks to the king of JUCO) for helping me get back into baseball, and batting in general
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Ive been waiting for a game like this to see what it's like to hit off MLB pitchers. I have umped 4 minor league prospect games. I only worked the plate twice.
So I have been waiting for a good VR game that doesn't look like a cartoon using fake teams and players. Im hoping these games show fans what it's like with pitchers throwing 95 mph or faster and then throw a curveball at 83mph.

I would like to know how accurate this is as far as bat making contact with the ball. It is pretty hard if you believe it or not to find legit reviews on this.
I would like to know too! I played baseball my entire life hitting off great pitchers, and I would love to know how similar it is. I could obviously test it myself, but I sadly don’t have an oculus.

@@YankeesUniverse I can maybe answer some questions but as far as accuracy I feel that the distance of hitting balls could be a bit exaggerated then again, the system takes account of your bat size weight and bat speed. One thing I do not like about this is the game is only compatible with WiFi. So the better the signal the Less likely you will HAVE TO RECALIBRATE improves accuracy. I was upset when I realize that I can not go to the park or to practice and use it.
Just the fact alone that it's in 60 FPS would make it nearly impossible. You'd see 3 frames of a ball until it went over the plate. You're basically swinging at a slideshow. Wait for teh tech to improve, specifically - high resolution density high refresh rate micro displays.

It looks like Meta may introduce a zone with increased fps for the area you focus on. Will be interesting to see if WIN could take advantage of this, as my major complaint is eye strain and visual fidelity as it can be difficult to see in low fps - however this could actually be a helpful stressor but I don't think that's intentional.
Otherwise, super fun. Make sure to decrease the swing precision window in the settings. Also have yet to use the bat attachment.
Meta in general feels like it has had updates and is more "snappy" and accurate than a year ago. I've been planning to stop my $30/month WIN subscription each month but never have because this is too fun. If I was a youth baseball player I would buy a Quest over a new bat hands down. If used wisely I think you can get a training value of like $600-1200 per month real-world equivalent. As a coach I can't sell sessions for less than $60, so with the volume this lets you see, what you can achieve with this it could be a steal - unless your hitting mechanics are really in the gutter.

I cud never when ever i play baseball, rounders, cricket, softball whenever i run i always full on throw my bat when i hit the ball and the amount of times ive nearly hit people his unreal so i cud never play with a bat strapped with a vr controller
seems to be very realistic however the sound FX are nothing like hitting a real ball. No bat crack? Thats like one of the best sounds in the world. are there sound options?

No you don’t need it, you can just use the controller. You have to subscribe to use the app but not for anything else
@@bigal9541 thanks I just got it, and yeah all you need is the subscription but the bat attachment is so worth it. Kinetics is very good too but you don’t need it

They are the controls for moving your strike zone, you can change how big you strike zone is with the trigger on the right control
the framerate looks like its in the 30s and 20s. Is that just how it was captured? what was the real fps?
That’s just how the oculus captures it. The way it’s captured isn’t near the actual experience with the oculus on your head.

It is worth it. Helps with bat speed if you use it daily. Helps to become disciplined at the plate.

I have it and I love it, the app is free but there’s a monthly subscription fee of $29/month or you can save money in the long run and by a yearly subscription (which is what I did)

@@mikeh.9954 pretty cool stuff. Did you end up getting it? I played my entire life and would’ve loved using this growing up. Wondering if it actually helps. I played against a couple of pitchers who got drafted and the speed itself could’ve helped for reading if it’s actually alike

This game is focused on the practicing portion. The gimmicks of celebration and movement would take a lot of development and man time away from focusing on on important aspects of the game.

look up win reality and it’s still being worked on so scroll all the way down to the bottom of the apps that pop up. once you download it it’s pretty easy from there, but you do need a monthly membership

No I only have the bat attachment because you can see velo and distance inside of the WinVR app

You can use a controller, but for some reason instead of just making it a fun thing you can do, it’s supposed to be this whole training thing. So you need a monthly membership and they recommend using an actual bat

I played this game a long time ago. It was baseball from wii sports, the bundle game when you bought a wii. This game is way old. Motion controls was such a gimmick. Why are we here with motion controls. Motion controls are lame.
It simulates a better and more accurate pitching simulation, and more accurate batter tactics and information. This game isn’t “old” either. I don’t know what you’re off ranting about
I have no idea wat I’m talking about but I saw a coach say don’t load up start at the point of load up In other words don’t stand there and then load up ur swing wen he starts to pitch get to the point where ur about to just send the bat at the ball and call that ur start u get a faster swing time so ur not wasting time loading up ur j going straight to ur swing
So how does this program know what kind of power is in the swing it just seems like it would be able to record bat speed?
The amount of time it takes from A to B times the mass is going to the power. The motion sensor attached to the bat provides the time.
Too bad you need an expensive subscription just to play.

Can you do it live that ball looks totally different in real life you lose the ball half way in and if the sun is out and there is shade you lose the ball as a batter if it's over 89 miles a hour.
Be moving out of your load toward the pitcher when the ball is coming out.
