- Thanks for tuning into my BMW E28 524td rebuild docuseries. I'm Teddy and in this episode we will cover installing the clutch pedal, 240mm clutch/flywheel assembly and Getrag 260. I really appreciate the love and I hope this inspires others to keep their classic cars on the road. TR
I love your vids man i have e34 525 tds in mint condition whole engine rebuiild tuned its like new , i love watching your videos because you work on diesel car and i love diesel so happy youre active cant wait to see you test driving this e28 , love from Macedonia 🇲🇰❤💛
This warms my heart. Thank you.
Imagine if BMW still made their transmission tunnels that way with an adjustable track for different mounts. Looking forward to seeing more on this build, and to see it driving!
Thanks Vlad. I'm looking forward to your X5 (m57 swap) videos. 😉
@@teddyroweshowstainless exhaust was finally made yesterday! Video coming soon 😀
@@belskyautoworks89 I'm looking forward to it. 😉
Just swapped my m21 out for an m54. I have the full turbo diesel power train for sale if you know anyone interested. I’m in Miami Florida
I passed this on to a friend. I know he has been looking for a 524td and may want an extra core. If I can help find that m21 a home I will. 😉 Also, M54 swapped E28, badass. Congrats. Did you go ms43 or aftermarket ecu?
@@teddyroweshow yeah the m21 has new turbo, rebuild injection pump, water pump, glow plugs and transmission recieved new filter and fluid . Everything worked before removal including ac. I have plenty of videos of the motor running. I also have a lot of extra parts including aluminum radiator air box glow plug modules. Yeah the I used MS43, ews and all the extra unnecessary stuff deleted. Car feels great. Just need to fabricate the exhaust and hook up the ac lines to the new compressor.
@@losmuchachosgarage8658 Thanks again for letting me know about your M21 drivetrain and E28 M54 swap. If you do any videos (of your e28 or any other car projects), I'll watch. 👍
nice attention to the detail ! (I have 324d) Can you tell me which fuel pump is better for 170-180hp mechanical bosch or electric and what turbo to use
Great question. In the US we only got the 524td for 2 years. The 324d was never imported to the US and there are some things I'm not familiar with and I have to learn along the way. 😉 BMW diesels had a hiatus for a while in the US. My 524td in-tank fuel pump is (low pressure) electric and the injection pump is a Bosch VE (high pressure). I kept the ECU (DME) functions. Can you find a 524td or 324td parts cars? I'd start there. thanks again. I'll get back to you on the turbo.
@@teddyroweshow at this moment im runing with my stock mechanical fuel pump and my turbo is kkk k24 from opel im runing it at 1.6-1.7 bars, also I dont use intercooler at this moment, but I think its around 140-150+hp, and yes its hard to find parts from TD version
Thanks for the video! I have a 85 524TD that i manual swapped about 2 years ago and just this winter installed a intercooler and holset turbo
This warms my heart. Thanks. We gotta keep our cars on the road. 😉
did you use a Holset WH1C? I have one around that i was thinking of putting on my 85 524td

Full list of everything needed to do the swap?
Link to realoem.com. I assume you’re in the US. The 528e is the car you need parts from. It’s your reference car.

You can still find the 324td/524td Velao clutch and flywheel on eBay. You need to look up the wiring for the park/neutral safety switch. That should get you started. I didn’t use a list. Since I’ve done the job a few times I wasn’t worried. Cheers and I’m glad you got a 524td.
