The final dimensions of the main layout were 5' x 9'. The only mistake I made was I should have moved the layout down a couple of inches. I certainly had enough room. I didn't leave myself enough room at the top of the layout for the profile boards and had to add a strip of 1" wide foam on the side to accommodate those profile boards but it wouldn't have been necessary if I had been paying closer attention. Oh well. Live and learn. It all worked out well in the long run as you can see in my later videos. Let me know how your layout goes. Have fund and happy railroading.
This looks like an interesting layout, it's the first I have seen buit with easy track from bachmann. Most of the layouts I've seen have been built with Kato. I take it your happy with the bachmann. Is this a N scale layout?
This is an HO layout. For the most part I'm happy with the Easy-Track. I am not happy with their turnouts though. The quality could be better. I've had to file the points and shim some of them up in spots in order to get them to work correctly. I just had so much of that track that I got for free it seemed like a waste not to use it and spend my money on other things.
I like what you have done here! What were the final outer dimensions of the main layout portion, with the extra outer loop addeto the Grand Valley set? I am looking to do something similar.

Geoffrey sorry I didn't see this sooner. I added 6" on all 4 sides of the Grand Valley Layout to get to my 5' X 9'
final dimensions.
@@markswiatly9613 thanks for the reply! Have a happy holiday as well.
Did you use Kato unitrack?
No. That's Bachmann's E-Z track that you are seeing there.
Thanks. I’m thinking of using Kato and trying to find someone who has built the GVL with Kato.
