Ya, genshin has no relationships outside freinds and family,(exept the flirtation that the chars do with the traveler, but i think we can just chalk that up to fan service) ,starrail has the one with seele and bronya (which that relationship crashed and burned harder then sniperwolfs carrer) and then hi3rd has multiple
@@Accountthatexists Eh, Jean and Diluc were heavily implied to have some kind of deeper relationship in the early Archon and side quests. Same with Beidou and Ningguang during the Lantern Rite festival cutscenes. But nothing is set in stone, canonwise. I dont think Genshin will ever go that far, honestly. They dont want to anger their facebase.
Genshin Impact demos are so fun to watch. It’s so cool to see each character’s personalities given spotlight. Also their individual music is phenomenal.

neuvi with context is one of the best characters to ever come to genshin. I didnt want him at first but he really grew on me and i am waiting on his rerun
For real. From the trailer I thought (like everyone did) that he was this dour, cold character. Probably the best character personality surprise in the game. He's basically Still Waters Run Deep: The Character and if he had a villain arc, I would make loyal henchman outfits for my Traveler and Paimon.
When I saw that first fontain trailer I for sure thought I’d hate him and love wriothelsy. Then I met him in the first act and instantly fell in love with his character and ended up despising wriothelsy for a bit there.
Xinyan is one of my favorite. people just don't know how to play her since her shield requires defence stat and her attack requires attack stat and is physical charge which use stamina and doesn't offer reaction advantage, as physical is buff by cryo and electro yet she is pyro... despite all these on paper problems... she is actually quite fun to play, but all the meta players only care about numbers...
there's no bad units, just units people don't know how to play!! i love xinyan sm, she does some good dmg if you play her how she's supposed to be played.
LOVE Xinyan! She's so fun! I don't play shields but as a character i always enjoy seeing her in-story. Also @kazz6836 agreed. The community's "bad unit" reports are extremely unreliable.....I remember people calling Yae clunky and disappointing right after i found her moveset smooth, elegant and effective w my team.
Wanderer is the best example that having a tragic backstory does not automatically make you a good character imo. He made terrible decisions in all of his life, including deleting himself from the timeline in the end. He did not even learn from his past or grow in any way because of it, instead he just ran from it. There might be a way with him working with Nahida now to redeem himself in the future, but right now he is by far my most disliked character.

He was definitely uwufied during the Interlude about him, but him deleting himself from Irminsul wasn't an attempt to run from responsibility. Man just straight-up attempted suicide while trying to fix what he did in the past. And him choosing to remember and retain the memories of what he's done was the choice to face his wrongdoings and live with them instead of running away. I like Scaramouche, but I strongly dislike the fandom's tendency to justify characters' actions for them to be likeable or acceptable. Like, yeah, he was used, abused, betrayed, thrown away AND he was still an absolute jackass who got cocky, cruel and frankly pathetic imo. The Interlude has showcased his growth in various ways, including his fight with his god form from the past. I was afraid of what direction the game would go for, but it was better than what I expected after Raiden.
@@justkomixo I really feel you on everything you said about the community's opinion. He worked really well as a tragic villain, and the storytelling was effective. But he doesn't work as a playable character 'on our side' right now for me. I get that he was just so done with everything that he was okay with killing himself in his attempt to 'fix' things. But I disliked several points about this whole thing. Rukkhadevata's sacrifice to remove herself from this world completely was such a huge and important moment that it felt just wrong for Scaramouche to get to do the same thing. Also, as you said, it did not fix anything, and even with him taking back all these memories, I really don't feel like that was 'redeeming' in any way. He just remembers now. And I kind of still stand with him running away from a lot of responsibility with it because even though HE remembers, everyone else does not remember that it was his fault. Like I said, there is still an option for him to come back from all this, but that did not happen yet. And until he really does anything meaningful about his past and actually redeems himself, I stand by my points.

Genuine question though, do you dislike him because you don’t like the decisions he made, as you stated above, or do you just not like the direction the writers took his story? Because I like him for the reasons you probably don’t, assuming we are discussing character integrity. I like that he’s significantly flawed, I like that in his attempt to “save” others he stupidly tried to kill himself. I like that he’s overly emotional when making decisions (ex. Killing off the Raiden gokaden, wanting to become a god, offing himself) He’s a great example of what it’s like to truly hate yourself and want to seek the quote unquote easy way out, it feels in character. I do not think he’s redeemed, not one bit. He’s a shitty person who was dealt a bad hand at life, but it’s realistic. I do agree that I wish he wasn’t playable though. The magnitude of his crimes do not warrant forgiveness, then again… tough there are lots of characters who have done things just as bad as him so it’s hard to measure.

I dont think think it's a good idea to include the chat on these reactions.. a lot of them have unnecessary comments, trolling, misinformation on characters and straight up biased.. and of course the reactor gonna claim it as a fact because he never plays the game and he trusts his chat.. and that defeat the purpose of rating them if you let your chat give you bias insight on the characters.

Why does no one explain Rosaria's situation correctly? Rosaria's model was nerfed because her boobs kept clipping through her clothing textures(jiggle physics). They tried fixing that by downscaling it once, but it wasn't enough, as yet another problem arose, so they nerfed her a second time. It was never about being too sexy or thinking about children. Her NPC model never had that issue because NPCs use different skeletons from playable characters. Edit: Raiden IS a good person, and her story is actually pretty great, people have this unwarranted bias against her because honestly, they don't read, and second because the Inazuma archon quest, AND ONLY THE ARCHON QUEST, was subpar. Raiden Shogun/Ei locked herself in her own subplane in order to turn her country in one of eternal prosperity. She has done everything for her people, however because she locked herself away, problems started arising, with corrution within government and bad actors being let run free by the corrupt. Most people toss all blame on her because they do not undestand that her country is not traditional monarchy, but a constitutional Monarchy. Which means that she is pretty much like the queen of england in which she doesnt govern the country directly. So most problems in it are not being caused by her.

I'll add onto the attack then, I have a fully built Wanderer, I even rolled C6 Faruzan for him, and I still thought it was only a 5. It's cool, but much less so without knowing context of his fatui backgrounds, there isn't any moment that really stands out IMO, and it's much less rewatchable than many of the others.

Also he is pretty queer coded with his “best friend” Xingqui. Since you were already spoiled, considering his weird energy and that his aunt was born with a homicidal tendency that also has to be kept in check, I suspect their bloodline to be not completely human. He has lizard eyes and she has no pupil and the game does have eyes be identifiers for a lot of things.

Oh, and the stage combat of traditional Chinese opera is serious business; it's a dying art form because traditionally it requires a good portion of the day training, every day, starting from a pretty young age. (See the biography of Jackie Chan, who received that training, for more details.) The singing techniques are surviving a little better; they're also a bit odd to Western ears simply because Chinese is already a tonal language where changes in pitch change the word itself and so singing in Chinese took a slightly different road from the beginning.

I love seeing an outside perspective on Genshin, it’s interesting how many things you got right. It really is a good game once you get into it, with some incredible characters as you now know.
btw just letting you know, genshin have only 5 weapons, which is sword, bow, polearm, claymore (includes big swords and clubs), and catalyst (basically the mages). sometimes they get creative with weapons like charlotte using camera as attacks (she's catalyst) or neuvilette with his cane (also catalyst) or the brawlers (heizhou and wriothesley are also catalyst). some changes weapons like childe (bow user) can switch to melee mode and uses duel blades or with raiden with the booba sword (she's polearm). also, there are 7 elements and 7 archons ruling 7 nations with each respective ideals (currently shown are 5 archons and nations), there's anemo (wind) with the bard venti as the archon of mondstadt (freedom), geo (earth) with sophisticated zhongli as archon of liyue (contract), dendro (plant, which used to be not playable and don't have much reactions with other elements) with the wise nahida as archon of sumeru (knowledge), hydro (water) with extravagant furina (who btw changes clothes if you haven't noticed) as archon of fontaine (justice) and the most recent update. the other two are pyro (fire) with murata as archon of natlan (war) and cryo (ice) with the tsaritsa (unknown name) as archon of schneznaya (also unknown ideals). anyways, that's a lot, pretty condensed but hope this kinda helps lol some characters were also not showcased, especially earlier characters.

I am so surprised to see Nahida was the highest rated. She’s an amazing character and one of my favorites but from what I’ve seen, she gets a LOT of hate for her design. Also someone in the chat during her video said she screenshots your death and I can’t stop laughing 😭
She got a lot of hate for her design at first because everyone in the community hyped up all their fan designs of her being this ara ara grass lady, but nowadays, she's a fan favorite. Every "favorite character" poll with her in it tends to have her running away with it.

Neuvillette had been brought to Fontaine about somewhere between 500 and 400 years ago, there are in-game notes mentioning new Iudex from the time period a few decade after the cataclysm. Nahida is almost exactly 500 years old, as she was born at the time of cataclysm. Xiao is also probably older than Ganyu, and he’s definitely above 3000 - he’s been already acting as Morax’s yaksha by the time Guizhong was sealed.

genshin trailers are made for people who play the game and know about their lore, i think you should focus ranking trailers based on either the music or the cinematography. Not the actutal charactters themselves as you dont know how they appear in the game, a char who did bad deeds will be ranked higher than a char who was actually good but got ranked lower the few characters u ranked so low got either got very sad pasts or their storylines are so good and heartful ur missing stuff out

This was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed your enthusiasm for learning about the characters + the game's world a bit, and I liked how you stopped to point out out various things you liked in demos, rather than just letting it play and just saying "yeah that's cool" to every one. I think people are getting a bit too salty over you not liking their favourite characters much (coughcoughwanderercough), but everyone's allowed their own opinions! Hell, Neuvillette (the judge guy) is one of my favourites both in terms of character and actual gameplay. You're totally based for liking Charlotte though, I've loved her character since she first appeared as an NPC back during the TCG World Tournament event, and Furina's quickly rising up to my top few characters too.

Same with Beidou and Ningguang during the Lantern Rite festival cutscenes. But nothing is set in stone, canonwise. I dont think Genshin will ever go that far, honestly. For real. From the trailer I thought (like everyone did) that he was this dour, cold character. Probably the best character personality surprise in the game. He's basically Still Waters Run Deep: The Character and if he had a villain arc, I would make loyal henchman outfits for my Traveler and Paimon.
When I saw that first fontain trailer I for sure thought I’d hate him and love wriothelsy. Then I met him in the first act and instantly fell in love with his character and ended up despising wriothelsy for a bit there.

Xinyan is one of my favorite. people just don't know how to play her since her shield requires defence stat and her attack requires attack stat and is physical charge which use stamina and doesn't offer reaction advantage, as physical is buff by cryo and electro yet she is pyro... despite all these on paper problems... she is actually quite fun to play, but all the meta players only care about numbers...
there's no bad units, just units people don't know how to play!! i love xinyan sm, she does some good dmg if you play her how she's supposed to be played.
LOVE Xinyan! She's so fun! I don't play shields but as a character i always enjoy seeing her in-story. Also @kazz6836 agreed. The community's "bad unit" reports are extremely unreliable.....I remember people calling Yae clunky and disappointing right after i found her moveset smooth, elegant and effective w my team.

Wanderer is the best example that having a tragic backstory does not automatically make you a good character imo.
He made terrible decisions in all of his life, including deleting himself from the timeline in the end. He did not even learn from his past or grow in any way because of it, instead he just ran from it.
There might be a way with him working with Nahida now to redeem himself in the future, but right now he is by far my most disliked character.

He was definitely uwufied during the Interlude about him, but him deleting himself from Irminsul wasn't an attempt to run from responsibility. Man just straight-up attempted suicide while trying to fix what he did in the past. And him choosing to remember and retain the memories of what he's done was the choice to face his wrongdoings and live with them instead of running away. I like Scaramouche, but I strongly dislike the fandom's tendency to justify characters' actions for them to be likeable or acceptable. Like, yeah, he was used, abused, betrayed, thrown away AND he was still an absolute jackass who got cocky, cruel and frankly pathetic imo. The Interlude has showcased his growth in various ways, including his fight with his god form from the past. I was afraid of what direction the game would go for, but it was better than what I expected after Raiden.

I get that he was just so done with everything that he was okay with killing himself in his attempt to 'fix' things. But I disliked several points about this whole thing.
Rukkhadevata's sacrifice to remove herself from this world completely was such a huge and important moment that it felt just wrong for Scaramouche to get to do the same thing.
Also, as you said, it did not fix anything, and even with him taking back all these memories, I really don't feel like that was 'redeeming' in any way. He just remembers now.
And I kind of still stand with him running away from a lot of responsibility with it because even though HE remembers, everyone else does not remember that it was his fault.
Like I said, there is still an option for him to come back from all this, but that did not happen yet. And until he really does anything meaningful about his past and actually redeems himself, I stand by my points.

Genuine question though, do you dislike him because you don’t like the decisions he made, as you stated above, or do you just not like the direction the writers took his story? Because I like him for the reasons you probably don’t, assuming we are discussing character integrity. I like that he’s significantly flawed, I like that in his attempt to “save” others he stupidly tried to kill himself. I like that he’s overly emotional when making decisions (ex. Killing off the Raiden gokaden, wanting to become a god, offing himself) He’s a great example of what it’s like to truly hate yourself and want to seek the quote unquote easy way out, it feels in character. I do not think he’s redeemed, not one bit. He’s a shitty person who was dealt a bad hand at life, but it’s realistic. I do agree that I wish he wasn’t playable though. The magnitude of his crimes do not warrant forgiveness, then again… tough there are lots of characters who have done things just as bad as him so it’s hard to measure.

Why does no one explain Rosaria's situation correctly? Rosaria's model was nerfed because her boobs kept clipping through her clothing textures(jiggle physics). They tried fixing that by downscaling it once, but it wasn't enough, as yet another problem arose, so they nerfed her a second time. It was never about being too sexy or thinking about children. Her NPC model never had that issue because NPCs use different skeletons from playable characters.
Edit: Raiden IS a good person, and her story is actually pretty great, people have this unwarranted bias against her because honestly, they don't read, and second because the Inazuma archon quest, AND ONLY THE ARCHON QUEST, was subpar.
Raiden Shogun/Ei locked herself in her own subplane in order to turn her country in one of eternal prosperity. She has done everything for her people, however because she locked herself away, problems started arising, with corrution within government and bad actors being let run free by the corrupt.
Most people toss all blame on her because they do not undestand that her country is not traditional monarchy, but a constitutional Monarchy. Which means that she is pretty much like the queen of england in which she doesnt govern the country directly. So most problems in it are not being caused by her.

It's cool, but much less so without knowing context of his fatui backgrounds, there isn't any moment that really stands out IMO, and it's much less rewatchable than many of the others.

Since you were already spoiled, considering his weird energy and that his aunt was born with a homicidal tendency that also has to be kept in check, I suspect their bloodline to be not completely human. He has lizard eyes and she has no pupil and the game does have eyes be identifiers for a lot of things.

I love seeing an outside perspective on Genshin, it’s interesting how many things you got right. It really is a good game once you get into it, with some incredible characters as you now know.
I'll be honest, the character teasers give more about their character than the demos.
btw just letting you know, genshin have only 5 weapons, which is sword, bow, polearm, claymore (includes big swords and clubs), and catalyst (basically the mages). sometimes they get creative with weapons like charlotte using camera as attacks (she's catalyst) or neuvilette with his cane (also catalyst) or the brawlers (heizhou and wriothesley are also catalyst). some changes weapons like childe (bow user) can switch to melee mode and uses duel blades or with raiden with the booba sword (she's polearm).
also, there are 7 elements and 7 archons ruling 7 nations with each respective ideals (currently shown are 5 archons and nations), there's anemo (wind) with the bard venti as the archon of mondstadt (freedom), geo (earth) with sophisticated zhongli as archon of liyue (contract), dendro (plant, which used to be not playable and don't have much reactions with other elements) with the wise nahida as archon of sumeru (knowledge), hydro (water) with extravagant furina (who btw changes clothes if you haven't noticed) as archon of fontaine (justice) and the most recent update. the other two are pyro (fire) with murata as archon of natlan (war) and cryo (ice) with the tsaritsa (unknown name) as archon of schneznaya (also unknown ideals).
anyways, that's a lot, pretty condensed but hope this kinda helps lol some characters were also not showcased, especially earlier characters.
I really want him to watch the teaser too to better know the story since i know that he will never even touch genshin

She got a lot of hate for her design at first because everyone in the community hyped up all their fan designs of her being this ara ara grass lady, but nowadays, she's a fan favorite. Every "favorite character" poll with her in it tends to have her running away with it.

Neuvillette had been brought to Fontaine about somewhere between 500 and 400 years ago, there are in-game notes mentioning new Iudex from the time period a few decade after the cataclysm.
Nahida is almost exactly 500 years old, as she was born at the time of cataclysm.
Xiao is also probably older than Ganyu, and he’s definitely above 3000 - he’s been already acting as Morax’s yaksha by the time Guizhong was sealed.
The traveler is not 500, that's only as long as they've been in Teyvat, so they're WAY older than that

genshin trailers are made for people who play the game and know about their lore, i think you should focus ranking trailers based on either the music or the cinematography. Not the actutal charactters themselves as you dont know how they appear in the game, a char who did bad deeds will be ranked higher than a char who was actually good but got ranked lower
the few characters u ranked so low got either got very sad pasts or their storylines are so good and heartful ur missing stuff out

This was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed your enthusiasm for learning about the characters + the game's world a bit, and I liked how you stopped to point out out various things you liked in demos, rather than just letting it play and just saying "yeah that's cool" to every one.
I think people are getting a bit too salty over you not liking their favourite characters much (coughcoughwanderercough), but everyone's allowed their own opinions! Hell, Neuvillette (the judge guy) is one of my favourites both in terms of character and actual gameplay. You're totally based for liking Charlotte though, I've loved her character since she first appeared as an NPC back during the TCG World Tournament event, and Furina's quickly rising up to my top few characters too.
Imagine someone being mad because you don't agree that the game's 20th consecutive ''dark and mysterious', edgy 'hmph, you dare stand in my way?' 'shops at hot topic' teenage edgelord is the best character in the game.
