my favourite line in here is Kurt’s “I’m really happy you’re alive, David”. He’s showing the most genuine form of forgiveness and I think he refers to Karofsky by his first name because he’s finally human to Kurt. He’s not just a bully anymore, he feels pain too and they always called him Karofsky because in a way it dehumanises him. But for Kurt to be happy that David is alive... that shows some real humility.
@@ainsleyflower304 I’m not happy they’re dating because yes he did terrible things in the past and that will never change. Forgiveness is important. Without it, you only hold grudges. Hate begets hate. If you really want love, you show love to those who never have shown it to you. It's the only way to break the cycle. To continue a belief of hating someone for their past without seeing reason or understanding, causes that person to become truly evil and fall even deeper into their abyss of hate. Yelling at someone for things they did without seeing changes they made is wrong. That's the problem with this day and age. It's not accountability, is the ability to be forgiven and have their transgressions forgotten. You can't expect people to wear their families ashes like they're fuckin Kratos.

well the thing is...Karofsky wasn't just a bully, he had a deep seeded issue that Kurt had too. It's a very valid reason for his behavior. Not an excuse but a reason, so I think it's a little easier to move forward with someone, when you both feel that deep connection.
“Can I be a sports agent?” Kurt opens his eyes and smiles. That part hits me. He finally knows a little more about David and he wants in life. I respect Kurt for being so supportive towards Karofsky even though he bullied Kurt in earlier seasons. This just proves that Kurt is one of the best characters in Glee!
Kurt helping David imagining his future is literally the sweetest thing, the worst thing about depression and bullying is you think it wont ever end, kurt helping david to see there was such a bright future ahead of him and he just had to stick around to get there was one of the best things kurt couldve done for him in that moment
This was such a missed opportunity for David's character in Glee. While it was a heartfelt and emotional moment, it was Ryan Murphy's way of saying "There. I made one of the disliked characters nearly die, gain a minor sympathy, and since Kurt is going to visit him and talk we will never have to see or use him again." David was the reason Kurt and Blaine met to begin with, and while the Klaine fandom would rather eat arsenic than see a possible Kurtofsky storyline, Ryan could have had David in episodes where Kurt ACTUALLY HELPED HIM. This scene was all talk and no payoff. No helping David reinvent himself. No David learning LGBT history. No David singing, or dancing, or trying to figure what he even likes (because not all gay men are bowtie wearing, skinny jeans rocking, tenor clones). Instead Ryan just used him as a drama device for season 6 to get Klainers pissed off again, and since it was easier to bring back a character than make a new one for Blaine to date.
Honestly, yeah. I feel like kurtofsky made more sense had they've developed. If Dave did all that you've mentioned above with Kurt there would be so much potential and chemistry. Would've been better than Klaine (although I love Klaine). Plus I think Ryan knew that too but didn't want to loose viewers who were watching it for Klaine so. And I'm honestly pissed and confused with the whole Blaine and Dave thing.
What really made me mad was that after his suicide attempt, Dave didn't come back to McKinley. I wanted to see Kurt supporting Dave through his recovery, I wanted Dave to join the Glee club (Max Adler can sing!), Kurt balancing that line of friend/support system/and Dave's crush. Maybe another scene of Dave confessing again later on and Kurt turning him down because he thinks that Dave only likes him because he's helping him recover and he doesn't want to take advantage of Dave while he's still vulnerable and, he's still with Blaine. Dave and Kurt overcoming that pain to build their friendship and grow even closer. How ironic would it have been for Kurt to push Dave into applying for colleges out of state and planning for his future so he doesn't end up a Lima loser only to be rejected from his only choice, forced to stay in Lima, while Dave got accepted to a college in New York and is leaving like Rachel. Kurt moving to New York and reconnecting with Dave. Finally starting to develop a feeling for Dave, but not going to do anything about it because he's in a long distance relationship with Blaine. Then after Blaine cheats/Klaine breaks up, Dave comforts Kurt, Kurt kisses him then apologizes claiming it to be a mistake. More friendship that might lead to something else... until Dave overhears Kurt telling Blaine he loves him on the phone at Thanksgiving. (Imagine Dave at Kurt and Rachel's orphan Thanksgiving because he doesn't want to face his homophobic mother.) Dave is asked out by a guy from his school and has his first date as an out gay man with help from Kurt and a visiting Santanna and Kurt asks out Adam. Kurt rejects Rachel's offer to return to Ohio, Dave invites him to come to Christmas party his friends are having, Kurt turns him down, so Dave hangs out with him and they share a sweet moment in how far they've come, that is interrupted by Burt coming. Dave lets them have privacy and goes to his Christmas party alone. Burt reveals his cancer and advises Kurt to hold the people he loves close to him, no matter what. (People thinking it's a Kurtosky hint) Kurt on the phone with Dave when he goes to the address his Dad gave. Kurt saying "Blaine?" and then hanging up in surprise. A shot of Dave waving off some guy at his party and staring at his phone during the Have your a Merry little Christmas song. Klaine engagement and a scene of Dave trying to warn Kurt that it's a bad idea to go from Not Dating to engaged, but Kurt ignores his advice and they stay friends. Maybe Dave gets his first real boyfriend. Then after Kurt calls off his engagement to Blaine in season 6 it goes from Friendship/support/natural progression to a relationship between Dave and Kurt. Even if it hadn't worked out, I still would have loved to know how it would have been. Instead, when Dave shows up later in the show, it feels like they just skipped all the interesting stuff (Dave's recovery, his issue with his mom, learning how to date when you don't look/act like the stereotypical gay man) and just went right to Dave being well adjusted and in a relationship with Blaine with a whole lot of people he slept with. (That restaurant scene with Sue made me uncomfortable.)
Tamera Farly Omg. I would so watch it. I was hoping they would end up together, and Kurt ended up being the guy in Dave's future fantasy, he was imagining in this scene.
Yeah... you see he didn't have it easy either.. his parents were homophobic (his mom more tho), the entire football team was a group of homophobic assholes (except for Puck and Finn who changed later on).. actually all sport teams on McKinley were just homophobic assholes. He probably didn't see any other option than become one too. He was gay surrounded by extreme homophobes.
@@AquaJulieMarinein this scene he said his mom said being gay was “a disease” I don’t really think they cared that much. Also if you’re distraught that your kid tried to kill themself, you’d be in that room.
@@AshtonGarlandI feel like the intention mention of his mom but not his dad means that his mom is the parent who isn’t comforting him or trying to be there. His dad more than likely is dealing with the fallout, probably demanding answers from the school or dealing with his wife, which is why he isn’t included in the scene. The dad knew something was up with David when he first got expelled for bullying and didn’t seem to be anti-gay, just older and coming to terms with his faults when he’s younger so I doubt he wasn’t there to support Dave.
This is why Kurt is my favourite character. An individual who can separate his own experiences of bullying and torment to help others. Such a fully formed talented individual
I think this scene is amazing. The acting is incredible. They could of expanded on this so much. I’m a true Klaine shipper. Love them. But these two could of been friends more. Kurt was so strong and forgiving! His heart was pure and always seen the best in ppl. No wonder Dave fell for Kurt. Just like Blaine did. He was a diva but he was humble and sweet. Blaine and Dave dated because they had the mutual feeling that they were both in love with him.
When Kurt says 'it's okay' he sounds so gentle and kind and forgiving even though Dave had been treating him badly. Kurt is like a friend who is good at advice and is always as truthful as possible. He is so sweet and my favorite character. Kurt is a wonderful character who is kind to those even after they hurt him. He is so gentle and kind.
Chris Colfer made Kurt such a beautiful character and a good role model to me when I was growing up. I've read every single one of his books and I'm just so happy hes here
In this scene Kurt actually looks like a really angelic porcelain doll with the most delicate androgynous features I've ever seen. Sue Sylvester really has a way with nicknames.
Kurt is probably the best person on earth and his actor too I bet it's so adorable how he even cares for someone that bullied him and harassed him it's just adorable
What an amazing journey this relationship was. Kurt is an absolute angel. After all Karofsky did to him, he still saw how badly he felt for that! Even though I think Blaine dating Karofsky was wrong, I’m glad he did come around and became a much nicer and more confident person. And a big part of that was Kurt’s support
I'm a Christian but love is what God taught us more than anything so love all of this was my kid I would still support my beliefs but love my kid anyways
I’m so glad other Christians see things this way! It seems like today so many people use religion as a reason to harass people who have different beliefs and it’s so sad that people do these type of things to people because that is _not_ what the Bible calls Christians to do and it gives us a bad lighting. How are they supposed to spread the love of God and convert others if all the Christians are harassing people who do not believe the same things as us and making them feel bad?
We all need a Kurt in our lives. This guy tormented him for a LONG time and even threatened to kill him, but Kurt isn't holding a grudge. He didn't even want to out Dave when he had plenty of chances to. Kurt is a good person. I'm glad they redeemed Dave as well, making him into a more likable person. Though I still don't get why Blaine would want to date the person who bullied his soulmate, even if like I said he changed.
It’s been breaking my heart ever since I first saw season 6 that the writers had made Karofsky such a good person and him and Kurt into great friends despite everything Karofsky did to him, and then they almost made him out to be the bad guy again by putting him and Blaine together in season 6. Why couldn’t they have let Kurt and Karofsky be together and made up a new character for Blaine to date when they were broken up in season 6 or preferably I would have wanted Kurt and Blaine to have taken some time apart (not broken up that is) from each other and Karofsky to have come back and been Kurt’s friend and given him the strength like Kurt did for him in this scene to go and confess to Blaine how much he loved him and then they would have gotten married.
As someone who has tried suicide this scene hits me hard. 1982 I didn't have a Kurt to help me through. Love his character. Would love to see a 25 yr class reunion and Karofsky is there with his husband and they talk about the kids they adopted and raised.
When David tells Kurt his mom thinks he has a disease kills me every time I legit say “you don’t have a disease David your perfect” while balling my eyes out
I'm just now realizing it but kurt's "think of one thing you're looking forward to" question got me through some really difficult years and I think it honestly still helps me.
I remember when I was bullied by this one kid. his name was Jeremiah. he was a bully to me from 3rd to middle school. he would push me and in elementary school, he was teasing my friend George. I told him to stop and he back handed me across the head. he even head butted me in the stomach once. I never saw him after middle school because I moved. Then we moved back to Eisenhower High and I saw him. I couldn't believe it. he was older now and he recognized me but like me, he wanted to be sure. I wanted to be sure and when I saw it was him, I couldn't believe it. we talked for awhile and I told him I forgave him all those years ago. I don't hold grudges. never. he was happy and so was I. and he was with my best friend so we were cool. we became good friends and when I left for home, I felt so light. like weight had been lifted. so I can relate to Kurt in some way. and this happening.
The biggest disservice Glee ever did to Dave and Kurt as characters was not finding a place for their storyline to continue into the friendship they promised one another. There didn't need to be a relationship or even the weird thing where they had Dave dating Blaine in Season 6. Kurt and Dave could have just been friends. Instead, they just dropped Dave's storyline after this until Season 6 and it really drove me crazy.
This was probably my second favorite moment in Glee. Even with all the shows faults, at the time, man, did I need the portrayals of hope characters like Kurt and Karofsky brought. Especially in human moments like this.
Kurt is an amazing person. He even helps Dave in his time of need, despite how he used to treat him. Now that Dave accepts who he is, things will get better, as long as he keeps getting back up.
This scene saved me from something that couldn’t be reversible. I was just like him and so upset but this scene. It stuck with me.its been 4 years since I saw this. I’m in a totally better place now. I’m happy, I found someone to love, I learned to accept myself and to live life with no regrets. Thank you Kurt, for saving me❤️
what i love about this scene is Kurt's empathy and compassion towards David. Glee tackled some very tough issues that young people face and did it in a great way!
This scene, the Cough Syrup scene, and every scene where Kurt respects karofsky’s secret even when he did all of those things to him, because he understood it was out of fear, make me cry so so much out of so much hurt for Dave and love for Kurt. “I’m happy you’re alive” “I am too” breaks me in ways I can’t explain.
my favourite line in here is Kurt’s “I’m really happy you’re alive, David”.
(Imagine Dave at Kurt and Rachel's orphan Thanksgiving because he doesn't want to face his homophobic mother.)
Dave is asked out by a guy from his school and has his first date as an out gay man with help from Kurt and a visiting Santanna and Kurt asks out Adam.
(People thinking it's a Kurtosky hint)
Kurt on the phone with Dave when he goes to the address his Dad gave.
Alexas Bryan That would have been perfect!
I started to love Karofsky after this because you realize inside he really is sweet.
Yeah... you see he didn't have it easy either.. his parents were homophobic (his mom more tho), the entire football team was a group of homophobic assholes (except for Puck and Finn who changed later on).. actually all sport teams on McKinley were just homophobic assholes. He probably didn't see any other option than become one too. He was gay surrounded by extreme homophobes.
Hes a big teddy bear. Just was lost in the closet and couldn't accept his true feelings. 😊
The amount of times I cried during this show is insane. I honestly would have loved to see more of Karofsky's and Kurt's friendship.
It hurts me that David's parents never came over to comfort him.
3 years late, but maybe they were still distraught over their son nearly committing suicide.
@@AquaJulieMarine huh maybe, shitt I need to watch glee again
@@AquaJulieMarinein this scene he said his mom said being gay was “a disease” I don’t really think they cared that much.
Also if you’re distraught that your kid tried to kill themself, you’d be in that room.
@@AquaJulieMarine
"3 years late but"
TH-cam 👏 is 👏 not 👏 Reddit
@@AshtonGarlandI feel like the intention mention of his mom but not his dad means that his mom is the parent who isn’t comforting him or trying to be there. His dad more than likely is dealing with the fallout, probably demanding answers from the school or dealing with his wife, which is why he isn’t included in the scene. The dad knew something was up with David when he first got expelled for bullying and didn’t seem to be anti-gay, just older and coming to terms with his faults when he’s younger so I doubt he wasn’t there to support Dave.
This is the most powerful scene Glee ever produced
I love this scene it shows how mature and caring Kurt is and how forgiving people can be to those who have hurt them in the past. So Heartwarming
I freaking love this scene! Kurt is such a cutie pie in this scene 💕
Emilia :D he is still gay but couldn't agree more
Now that acting right there, from both of these guys!! Very powerful and moving!
"I'm really happy that you're alive, David." - not something that was said to me when I was in Davids position.
Well I know it maybe too late but I’m really happy that you’re alive
I'm really happy you're alive :)
IM HAPPY YOU’RE ALIVE
I'm really happy that you're alive
I'm so sorry no one that really knows you said it to but, I'm really happy you're alive!
That was a horrible Storyline, thank god, it was just for a couple Episodes
I think they may have mentioned them when sue said a quarter back became best friend with the gay kid or they could be talking about finn
Kurt is literally the most forgiving person on the planet
kurt is such a kind soul💛
When Kurt says 'it's okay' he sounds so gentle and kind and forgiving even though Dave had been treating him badly. Kurt is like a friend who is good at advice and is always as truthful as possible. He is so sweet and my favorite character. Kurt is a wonderful character who is kind to those even after they hurt him. He is so gentle and kind.
agreed
Kurt is so sweet I love him he is a good actor especially in this scene
Kurt is the best character in Glee because he can forgive and help someone who hurt him.
Kurt has a strong sense of compassion & forgiveness.
Karofky's story makes me cry cause I've been put on a 72 hour hold
Gengar Crobat I'm glad that you're alive
Gengar Crobat I don't know you but you are loved and you are needed I hope you have recovered from this but just know it can get better
I hope this year will be better for you
same here :’(
God bless you. Hope you're doing better. Xxx
Kurt seriously sounds like my grandma I love it
Chris Colfer made Kurt such a beautiful character and a good role model to me when I was growing up. I've read every single one of his books and I'm just so happy hes here
even after all these years this scene is truly heart breaking
Kurt is an Angel from heaven! I love him😇💟🌟
Acting at its finest, both Chris and Max!
I love this scene chris and max did such amazing job in this scene so beautiful and powerful I cried during this scene my heart broke for both of them
What an amazing journey this relationship was.
Rachel Hanks thank you, i respect you so much for this
I’m so glad other Christians see things this way!
Rachel Hanks I can’t get my parents to see it like this. It’s exactly how I feel.
God loves u as u are
I think the role of Dave Karofsky ,was the heaviest of all Glee. ( suicide ) .
Max Adler a great Actor .
i wish he just accepted himself and joined glee:(
Kurt Hummel is the sweetest, most genuine person on Glee
Kurt is an angel!😇❤❤❤
Kurt is so forgiving towards Karofsky it hurts
Such a heartbreaking scene!
Karofsky turned out to be a big teddy bear!
And this is one of the many reasons Kurt is my favourite character
For me, this is one of the best and most emotional scenes in glee, I really feel touched by it everytime I see it
I honestly with they gave David more airtime after this episode. I wanted to see his character development and see his ups and downs
I love kurt honestly what a brave person
His eyes are so freaking beautiful
Kurt is so so so sweet, Dave was so bad with him... and he just help him, a thing what I'll never do with the person who hurts me
We all need a Kurt in our lives.
Man he needs his own show! I'd watch sports agent/w his partner
I would watch it too such amazing actors
Ramadan Bekirov and his best friend Kurt dropping in once in a,while w/ hubby Blaine and daughter
ew no I hate the klaine I always prefered kurtofsky
Ramadan Bekirov Kurt and Blaine belong together/they could a spin off w the kids falling in love
Im not crying you are!
I cry literally every time Kurt talks!😅😭 His voice is just so sweet and soft! It's so beautiful! Even when he's not singing😭
This is the beauty of FANFICTION!
I think he would've been seen as a bad Idea by Kurt's friends and family and Sue would put her two cent in and break them up
Id prefer that as well. Id love to see kurt and dave togetherp
I respect that David was being nice to Kurt but he apologized to him for treating him badly, and bullied him. But they are officially friends.
As someone who has tried suicide this scene hits me hard. 1982 I didn't have a Kurt to help me through. Love his character. Would love to see a 25 yr class reunion and Karofsky is there with his husband and they talk about the kids they adopted and raised.
When David tells Kurt his mom thinks he has a disease kills me every time I legit say “you don’t have a disease David your perfect” while balling my eyes out
These scenes were so heartbreaking. Especially where Blaine was singing cough syrup
What a beautiful scene. Still makes me cry like a baby even after all these years.
The last person who deserved kindness from kurt was david yet when this happend he was the first person to show him real kindness says a lot
Kurt understands what he's going through cause he's gay himself, that's why he shows him so much kindness, even after Dave terrified him for months.
Damn, is incredible how amazing was glee in its first three seasons.
I've never been a fan of Glee, but this made me cry. I've been there. There's nothing worse than feeling like you're alone.
I'm just now realizing it but kurt's "think of one thing you're looking forward to" question got me through some really difficult years and I think it honestly still helps me.
This scene made me cry
One of my fav scenes on glee 😍😍😍
I love Karofsky!
This show could be silly and weird but when it shined it SHINED
Kurt is a freaking saint!!
I always watch this scene and somehow it helped me get through these past few weeks. I’m happy I’m alive.
I need a Friend like Kurt in my life, he makes everyone feel great about themselves, even if they've been awful to him...
Why the hell were there no Emmy noms for this
Kurt is a sweetie!
Amazing scene. Makes you really feel for both of them .
He’s a good lad that kurt
The amount of empathy and compassion and forgiveness Kurt has for David never fails to amaze me
This was probably my second favorite moment in Glee.
Thank you Kurt, for saving me❤️
I came out ten years ago. It was the worst time in my life. I had no idea how amazing life could get. I’m so glad I stuck around to find out.
I'm glad, too buddy.
what i love about this scene is Kurt's empathy and compassion towards David. Glee tackled some very tough issues that young people face and did it in a great way!
i sobbed so much at this scene. glee has very rare amazing scenes. theres so much bs its easy to skim over these type of scenes
Probably the first real friend he had. This was an awesome episode. That one and when Kurt and Finn become 'brothers' was another happy one.
Kurt is an ANGEL 😇
Kurt is my favorite character
