This takes a lot of concentration and coordination skills, especially in the finishing process. Would be a bad day to scew up the last tooth... well done guys!

- Not a serial manufacturing - only two gears at final. Anyway selling "old" machines to small factories is better way than just melt hem into a scrap.
Try to order this on the CNC, I wonder if they will be interested in you at all? Or will you break through the order queue? For a CNC machine of this size, the production queue is scheduled for months.

They've been doing this for 5 years, judging by the other videos. If the gears didn't work, their customers would have told them by now. Probably a fair bit a latitude at this size.

sometimes a hob might not have the correct profile. bastard sizes are prevalent on old equipment. the old timers would design the tooth profile in such a way that a buyer would have to return to the original supplier to get the correct part. grinding up a new hob for 1 0r 2 parts is not economically feasible- even if you can match up the tooth geometry.

You have to keep in mind that is not space shuttle technology!! From my 55 years of machining experience I can say they did a great job:-))
