I checked out this video since I'm dutch and I'm always very curious to see how much I can understand in Afrikaans.
What I have noticed is that when reading I can understand practically everything, but I'm sometimes a bit thrown off by the pronunciation.
Especially the infinitive verb at the the end which is in the 1st person singular form. (= ek-vorm in afrikaans?)
Ex. te eten (dutch) vs. te eet (afrikaans)
Anyways, this was a very good video so thank you!
It‘s also interesting for me because I’m German and there are also certain similarities, or I can guess often what it could mean. But Dutch I understand rather easily, more than Afrikaans. That‘s not as easy as Dutch and I need a translation to understand it completely

Such great content! An Afrikaans questions for you- when do you put het at the end of a sentence? I have yet to read anywhere in my books where that is explained.
