Hello there, Evy and I live in province of cebu 6 months a year. i have a multicab but want a scooter to zip around and explore, when i buy new, am i able to drive it right away? or does one need to wait for the dreaded long wait of registration to drive it? i was able to drive my multicab, but not sure i was legal. also do i need a motorcycle licence there? i do have a regular philippine drivers licence, but dont know if its like the states that i need the add on, thanks! jeff
It took about three months before I got the title and registration for my Rusi. Nonetheless I drove it right away with a bill of sale as proof of purchase. I have the auto and motorcycle Philippines driver's license. Yes, you are supposed to have the motorcycle license in the Philippines. Go to the LTO and get your motorcycle license. I have been told DuekSam will give you registration and title on the day of purchase, if you pay cash. Maybe someone has more info on that.

Mayor tommy declared that you will not be fined within the city limits if you still dont have registration for your scoot since its LTO's fault why they cant produce your registration and plate on the same day. For me I just placed "for registration" plate for a month before I got my temporary plate but it depends really on which part of cebu you are going to get your ride.
