Anja - Your channel is a huge inspiration. I am much older then you but I have found this minimalizing to be a life long project. I am at the point where I am aspiring to extreme minimalism (with conditions!). I have a dog so I do accommodate her - toys, beds, and whatever else she needs. Possessions only serve to stress me out, and it's true when they say, our possessions end up owning us. Viva la liberation!! :)

I feel like some of these problem are fun challenges to people? Like matching your bag to your nailpolish or choosing a carefully orechestrated outfit with lots of details that go well together. When I was new to minimalism, I aspired to be as "extreme" as people like you but I noticed that I actually enjoy material items to an extent, especially when I can get creative with them like fashion or make up. It might be because I don't have many people to spend time with or the perfect health to do lots of activities but it's fine for now. I'd rather have it this way than to get frustrated with minimalism and give up on it completely.
Thanks for sharing your story. Sometimes it's difficult to put all the disclaimers in a video that just last a couple of minutes. But these were just some personal examples and not meant as judgments or as if this is the only way of minimalism. I think it's very personal and there is no right or wrong way. Also, there is nothing wrong with not living minimal in general of course :) I just really love minimalism and therefore I share my passion and my journey. This is just my personal experience, and my personal preferences. It's not the only way, just my personal way. There are no rules and we make our own priorities and choices, anything is possible, and as I said there are no judgments. Matching outfits can definitely be fun and if that brings you joy just keep enjoying it. The most important thing of life is to enjoy it. :)
I do find I go back to my favorite clothes,in turquoise or black.Any new prints I buy,I usually donate! I have donated so many bags of clothes,and I don't miss them . I have a two bedroom place that I own.Id love a tiny one room cabin!
I just happened to watch your video now. I am really on the same page as you thought wise. The lesser you possess, the better. It's better now, like spending, maintaining and organizing. Looking at the future, you don't have to worry to whom you are going to leave all these things. It can be clothes,books, jewelry, car or house. It's not only a burden for us, even for our children. They might not have the same taste or need as us.
I love comfortable clothes too. And when I suffer from insomnia I listen to audiobooks or look at TH-cam. Probably bloopers or something to make me laugh and feel good even though I cannot sleep. Yes, I also have a laptop and then my phone. Do have some office stuff but they’re getting fewer. I sincerely hope we all can get less materialistic. No need to become a minimalist, but just think it through before buying. Great video! Such a calming and lovely voice 👍👍👍💗🌸

I totally agree I live the same way as you these are the result of capitalism the consumption of products is unnecessary we do not need even 5 % it is a psychological game and the purpose is to keep people slave and busy in order to satisfy needs that in reality doesn't exists it is just a chase of his tail of our own free will living with anxiety and depression love Anja i hope you always have meekness in your ife and soul

A wardrobe full of clothes but nothing to wear. People do say this which is very true. The less I have the happier I am. My goal is giving up my car long term since living in a town it’s doable.
Anja, Tik Tok is one of my guilty pleasures as well. By any chance, are you going to upload a video highlighting the problems you *do* come across with this simple way of living? That would be interesting to see. I would say for me personally, it's FOMO (would this object make me happier since it makes others happy?) and it's hard to meet those who share my values regarding possessions :)

Minimalist also a way of destressing. Going to donate and recycle my old stuff, mostly belongs to my children when they are still young and living with me, now all growing up and having lives of their own, I need to learn to let go.

Omdat zij goede ervaring mee heeft en het al 2 jaar heeft wil ik binnenkort zelf ook kopen hopelijk heb je hier iets aan :)

Hi Deatra, thanks for sharing your story, I can relate to it a lot. It is a journey, and we have to try out what works for us with minimalism, I notice that times and situations also changes, so it fluctuates a bit. Yes, I understand this sofa bed is a bit pricey for me too. I was lucky enough to got it on a huge sale. Here in the Netherlands they have good sales with this brand often so maybe they have those elsewhere too. Take care 💛
