I typically refurb the original 72 pin connector by removing it, then boil it in water for about 10 minutes. I’ll then use a pick tool to bend each pin up just a bit. Ive had great success with this method. Love the channel man
That sounds like the way to go. See I like this. This is what a comment section is all about. Gamers helping gamers. Another commenter stated the aftermarket connectors are too tight. And upon inspection I believe he is correct...
I sure hope the operations are a success! And I always undercut the market prices so someone is gonna get a great deal on a nice NES & that's always a beautiful thing.
Dude, love this kind of content from you. You could make these every other video and I'd watch every one. Shame about those controllers though. Some of them looked really clean. Did they have drift or something?
That's good feedback and I thank you! I really should do updates when there's updating to be done. And yes, drift, wiimotes won't sync, stuff like that. I can fix certain controllers but it definitely is a time issue.
@@Emceemur That's a shame but it just goes to show why you have to be low on these things, like you always preach. You never know the problems they're going to have when you get them back home
Nice to see an update on some of those purchases you made over a while! I hope that the SH3 disc works after that industrial resurfacing! Great video and keep up the good work!
Hoping that Silent Hill 3 fixes up and those NES's too. Found some of my last pieces for my PS3 this last week. Motorstorm Apocalypse, Time Crisis 4 Razin Storm, NFL 2K8, Mindfreak. Found for flipping Killzone Trilogy mint, Spiderman Shattered Dimensions, Saboteur, Legendary and Triple Pack Limbo Trials HD and Splosion Man. Close to my best week ever of hunting.
Man, yeah the Spidey games do a great job holding value. I grabbed Motorstorm at GameStop many years ago for 99 cents just to test a PS3 I got. I was surprised at how much fun it was!
Very entertaining video! I love watching your pickups videos. I’m trying to get more into going to flea markets and conventions to pick up some sweet stuff, but I have to find the time. I’m so busy!!
I feel ya, brutha! It's been the busiest year I think I've ever had as far as just having stuff on the calendar. Im working on new content right now tho so there's definitely more to come.
Love the new vid per usual. Was hoping the criticism from Heckin' Steve wouldn't alter the channel; can't say I'm a fan of his content or perspective, but thought you did a stand-up job in your appearance. Looking forward to the next Flea Market Flippin'~
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm working on the next flea episode now. It should be a good one. Steve and I managed to find some common ground and we definitely had a great talk on his show. He's actually a pretty cool guy once you get to know him. A lot of folks would rather focus on the games than the aspect of flipping and honestly, I want to do more of that as well. We're still gonna do plenty of hunting, make deals and look at values as always. I'm overdue for an overall collection video and room tours as well. I always hope that Im making something everyone can enjoy. Thanks for being here for the update vid!
Im always a fan of third party arcade controllers, and that Nyko one looks nice even if its for parts. Only 2 i got is for the N64 and a Pelican PS2 stick. I oughta use the pelican one more but i gotta replace the laser on one (3 actually) ps2 slims
You could probably get all up in that Nyko and find the problem eventually. But man Im just swamped. I got videos to make. And more stuff to hunt! That's cool that u can do laser replacement.
I still have my original and it could use a pin connector adjustment but it still works pretty good. I was always gentle with it. And now I keep an everdrive in it which is seated properly so I just play on that.
after restoring about 2,000 NES systems in last 17 years. NEVER EVER, use a 3rd Party PIN, Makes GAMES too HARD TO REMOVE, and some game boards are slightly thicker than other, could damage NES game board. Another amateur thing, I don't do anymore, is remove the lock out pin. Not needed, once you learn how too properly clean original Nintendo brand 72 pins.
@@kingjaekob I kinda thought the same thing. If the cartridge is reading then a lockout chip doesn't really factor in anymore. And I took the advice you and fellow viewers made and did not use the 3rd party stuff. My original NES still works great and I've never had to refurb any like this so it was good experience. Thanks for watching!
The aftermarket pin connectors are not made with the quality of the originals and have a death grip on the carts that can scratch the pins. I always refurbish the original ones and they work so much better. Please don’t throw away the original pin connectors. They are easy to fix.
You're right! They are too tight! The cartridge barely fits in it. Another commenter suggested boiling the originals and tweaking the pins with a pick tool. I might be going that route now.
@@Emceemur I’ve never boiled the pins, but I have cleaned them and slightly tweaked them. There are plenty of good videos showing a good way to refurbish them. Appreciate the reply and keep up the interesting videos coming. Love your content!

Fingers crossed... Im hearing now that the aftermarket pin connectors are crap. 💩
@Emceemur Check out the Ninten-drawer mod is a great after-market pin connector.
