Nice video Jason, Thank you. Your project turned out better than I was expecting on the fabric of your pack. You're correct in saying, cotton canvas does absorb better, although you've proven material like your pack CAN be successful with a bit more coaxing. BTW: I've come across a few other "Recipes" for making wax water proofing for gear. Instead of Bee's Wax, some folks use the wax toilet rings. It sounds almost disgusting, but, it works out really well & less expensive!! Thank you for your expertise & your contributions. Best Regards!!

Man, your timing rocks. I picked up 2-17ltr. day packs at wally world about a month ago. Putting together a couple of 10-C's kits for Christmas. I think I'll try this on them instead of spray on waterproofing. Thanks for the tutorial.

Ideas….. with winter coming soon, focus on winter related content. PACE planning for the basics. Homemade fire starters, winter tool kit, how your edc changes with winter, vehicle check lists , must have items for power outages or snowed in, anything with Alan, Alan,Alan,Alan & more pack out videos.

Just got to mention all butane lighters are waterproof without that cover (piezo blow and shake, flint roller shake then gently roll it round a few times) and in 40 plus years of carrying a lighter I’ve never had one break or lose the gas, in the army always carried spares inside pack and never ever had one leak out.
    Nice video 👍

I can't help but wonder what some Denim would be like to wear if this is done to it.

I like it. That's an old-school idea brought into the new school kit for the win.

Snow shield should work just as good if not better.

For a final finishing, you can also throw the item in the dryer. Just put it in a pillow case first or you'll have a thin layer of wax on the inside of your dryer. Don't ask me how I learned that (my wife forgave me after I cleaned it up, lol.)

    Why the Linseed Oil?

Linseed oil will out gas its volatile organic compounds and leave behind a plastic like layer.

Jason are you still with survival dispatch? If not I’m going to unsubscribe them. They are reuploading your old content regularly and I’m wondering if they have permission to do that.

Was wondering the same... It would be worthwhile to know for sure.

@@jgstevens5169 so apparently he and some others bought survival dispatch and are in the process of rebooting it.
