Now, I know that this isn't exactly a realistic addition to Star Wars canon, but let’s just pretend that after the destruction of the Imperial base on Scarif, somehow junkers were able to salvage a few remaining pieces of K-2 and miraculously, despite being directly in the Death Star’s laser blast radius, he’s still in relatively good condition.😅
Bro this might be my favorite one yet. Whipping up an eye out of random parts including an IKEA sink drain? That feels like what the prop builders on Episodes IV, V, and VI were probably doing. This build channels so much of that OG trilogy energy. Keep up the incredible work.
Hello! Great work, you have vision for sure. Your ability to whip up an eye socket out of some stuff you have around the house makes you a true prop builder.
@@brungerbuilds Amazing build. I love the level of damage with that hole blown out the back. I've just started making my own props and I'm realizing how difficult it is to get the correct level of damage, wear, and grime. It's so easy to go to far. The flickering lights are a nice touch.
HOLY this is amazing! I love the blown out effect on the back of his head. I feel like you could very similarly do a model of "Handles" the cyberman head that the 11th Doctor Who had in the TARDIS
I've said it before, but your builds look studio/ movie quality! Using the soldering iron to make the damage and then using the metal shavings makes this look so realistic. Well i guess it kinda is since you used real metal lol. Definetly going to have to try this technique the next time I need to apply wealthering. Great job!
Thanks so much! I come from a video production background and a love for the film look so I’m always trying to make my stuff look a little dirty and imperfect like film. Appreciate the kind words! Thanks for watching!
Something I like to think when doing battle damage is that the more damage you apply, either intentional or not, you do not have to recover it. it is supposed to be damaged so it is fine to go a little over board. If you were trying to go for a screen accurate look, then my process would fall apart. but since we never see K-2SO as a scrap heap, what you did is totally fine.
this is amazing !!! You should have a million subs. Really easy to follow and great end result. I'd love to do the same but I have so much work to get done and so little time...
Thank you! I know the feeling! Remember though, it’s all about the journey not the destination. A little bit here or there is better than never at all! ( I need to listen to this advice more often) 😅
Looks sweet, i think one aspect of the rust that this method doesnt get is the flakiness. Not sure how you would do that but whenever i see rusty metal it always looks very flaky and chippable

Also that clean copper shimmer does absolutely make it, great choice
Heck yeah! Thanks so much. Always trying to channel the energy of those OG ILM fellas
Yet another amazing build, I hope you're enjoying the making as much as we are watching, because I don't want these videos to end!
Glad to hear it!

"Trust the process" is something i really need to take to heart ^^
Haha thank you!
This is quickly becoming my fav TH-cam channel. Please change nothing...
Also please build an ESB EE-3 ;)
Definitely on my list!
Really nice work. Great idea for a display piece!
Thank you!
This turned out so cool and I love that you used random items like that Ikea drain thing :) keep up the good work! Amazing!
Thank you!
I'm commenting before I've even watched it, you had me on the thumbnail! Love K-2 and what you did with it. Ok I'll go watch now!
Heck yeah! Glad to hear it! ❤️

Thanks! I agree, it takes some getting used to in order to know when enough is enough. You can always add more, but can’t necessarily take it away 😅
Simply amazing fantastic job and learned so much !
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching!

Awesome! Good luck on your build!

Look into a wood scraper for the flat surfaces it’s LITERALLY a game changer
Super cool 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
love the build!

You’re totally right! It’s always a little scary trying a new technique and I was just way too in my head 😅

It can depend on the rust, but you’re definitely right. I had hoped that would happen by applying the iron under the Tamiya paint, but it didn’t 🤷🏻♂️
👍👍

I 3d printed my own k-2 head although nowhere near as cool as yours, mine is about half the size.
Awesome! There’s definitely a time and place for scaled props. Certainly saves on storage space! 😅
thought this was brau 1589
Had no idea what you were talking about so I had to look it up. They definitely share some similar design elements!
