I did this drive in 1998 in a 560 sec and again in 2016 in a 650i, the road seemed to have deteriorated and was full of horrendous pot holes which were no joke when you have run flat tyres, very beautiful place to visit, looking forward to going back someday
Many roads in Scotland are in bad condition, I guess it's because of the rough winters. I did not have any trouble with the car I was driving but on a car with low-profile tires I would have been forced to drive much slower.
