Great stuff here! I was watching your steering wheel install. Please tell me how you connected your aftermarket head unit so that the controls on the steering wheel operate your radio. I have one of those Android head units. I could not determine what canbus wires I needed to connect to use my steering wheel controls. My steering wheel is the factory wheel.
I have a video of the audio section in my video libary, look for Audio upgrade for the SLK I go over those details which also work for other mid 2000 mercedes
Hello, where we can find a controller, or some module i don't know, that converts a resistive signal the buttons? This black box... i want to upgrade a W211 steering wheel to W166 wheel... the interface of the buttons are different...
For the wheel, it fits good tho the axle doesn't fully go into place but covers 67% of the contact point of the axle point into the wheel. If you own a slk, the paddles will be a different type as the extended ones will come in to contact with the turnsignal indicator. The provider knows this and will be sending updated paddles with your order.
@@PANZERSGARAGE thank you, i have an R170 and i want to fit a W204 amg steering wheel and doesn't fit at all.. i bealive it needs an adaptor or cut the bach of the w204 steering wheel, thank you for your information!
Did mercedes use 1 stage airbags in 2005? BMW changed that in 1999 or so to 2 stage...I can't think mercedes used 1 stages then...even the connector setup looks very much the same between his old and the new steeringwheel...

Actually i really love your videos and if im honest id love to pick up an slk55 for that money but over here in germany, if you dont buy an US ex-salvage titled one for around 15k, you pay at least 20k for an stock slk55 from the early years. ...now the big but: i really dont like this steering wheel. A the color and the shape look so out of place and B the missing upper midsection, id fear accident safety in form of hitting on the horns or missing the grip when you need it. I hope you dont experience anything like that. Besides a great channel, carry on and kind regards from Germany!

@@x7cLaMg is the axle entering the port of the wheel? Some metal/material might need to be grounded from the back if that's the case.

Is that new airbag not a 2 stage airbag with the original being a single stage do you not have to reprogram the srs ecu?
No reprogramming is needed.
