yeah, i'm one of those people in this case, i'd give this game something like a 6 out of 10, but i know i'm being generous. really wish they came up with a remake or reimagining of this title, but it could also turn out to be an amazing tv (netfllix) series.
just make sure they keep the soundtrack though.

I think it is an overlooked gem. An easy 7/10 or even an 8/10. It improved so much on Secret of Mana but was more than a blatant copy. They improved the magic system, the party felt more versatile than in SoM (even if only 2 characters), no useless weapon pool, better running, and so on. I loved the great market in act 2 and most "mazes" weren't so bad. The vulcano is pretty much one straight line and the forest is easy to pass if you follow the goblins. But yeah, it had some broken mechanics due to too short development time (kinda like SoM).

If they had more time I think this would have been a better stand out than SoM, at least in the west. Such a unique setting...
