I think your opinion represents a lot of others, including Taka himself. I remember in one of his interviews that they have an obvious ambition of gaining more global recognition. In his initial efforts to do so in the US, he had to take advice from local producers, but Taka didn’t like the song so much that he didn’t include that song in the albums he released in Japan. (You probably know which song) However he was surprised to hear this song being played on the radio in the US, and realized he needed to take these steps positively and try to invest in new ideas he gets exposed to. So most fans from the very beginning knows when they themselves and the music that reflects them were more raw (and hard) and may be difficult to accept some of the changes along the way. I try to enjoy it as a reflection of what they want to ultimately accomplish, as they gain even more recognition, they can gradually expose more of their rawness with added maturity and skill. All that said, I have been and will probably always be a fan of ONE OK ROCK.
Do you mean this mainstream song “American Girls”? 😅 Many european fans don’t really like it. But it’s good to try new and different things from different perspectives and always evolve. What works in Japan might not work in the US and vice versa. I think it’s the only way to progress and find out what they really want. 😌 But I’m happy to see that some fans will always be by their side and support them on their way
@@candybomb Of course you knew it and that goes for a non-European fan here as well😬 I am excited to see what they come up with next. I guess the next update will be the new theme song of the last episode of the “Rurouni Kenshin” movie series that will be released this June.
I like OOR's old heavy style more too but i think OOR's woudn't be themself if they keep stuck in the same genre , long before that they even do ballad , rap element and some general Japanese pop song too , so i just can't understand why some people keep attacking , making fun of them when they paying some general america pop songs at their debut at freaking America . As OOR's fan they should have know OOR will eventually comeback to their old style sooner or later . Whatever genre they change too i'm confident they would make them rocking on the live stage anyways . If anything these people missed i think they just don't see OOR's passion never changing & they will still burning hard on the live stage as they always were .
I used to dislike their newer albums but have to grown to like them more, especially the live versions since they sound much more rock. Saying that, I do want them to produce songs like the JinseixBoku & 35xxxv eras. P.S You look Stunningly beautiful 🤩
Thank you for sharing, I agree I would also love to see hard rock or alternative rock again, but even if it‘s pop, the live versions are always insane 🔥
