Dave Hall from Restore a Muscle Car will be posting updates on TH-cam and TikTok in the future as they tackle the restoration process on these TAs. Thank you for watching!
Thank you for what you all do, I look forward to every episode, ironically like her Brown TA I've owned my silver 79 TA since 84 also. Keep the faith and remember (Phoenix Rising) ✌️
I started crying, as I understand the love of the car. I have my 1977 special edition T/A that my oldest brother gave me. Unfortunately I live in South FL where we have a lot of salt water. So my car has a lot of rust, and the engine hasn’t started in maybe 30 years. Single mom with no child support, the money just wasn’t there to fix it. The sad part is the reason it was parked was because it needed rotors and I would start it regularly until the freeze plug on the AC side blew. Simple fixes, but time and money just weren’t there. The rotors were finally replaced by a bf of mine a couple years after I parked it. Ever since I heard of the Bandit Run, I’ve always had a dream to restore my car, but the Bandit Run gave me an extra added push. I’ve had since 1980. I watch videos every year on TH-cam, and get such a joy out of it. I told my brother, who was an 18 wheeler driver, retired, that we could do the run in the car. As it was his car first. So I thought in my retirement years, but now disabled, my brothers passed. And the moneys still not there. But I still have the dream. I’ve seen some pretty rusted T/A’s get refurbished. So someday……like the Alan Jackson song. So as I watch this, tears flowing down my eyes because of your loss, I’m praying your cars will be able to be restored. I’m so sorry for the loss of your home too. May God Bless y’all, for all to be recovered. Looking forward to seeing those cars back in the Bandit Run.
I live in the area of this home and remember the fire but also remember seeing both of these cars driving around and giving a big thumbs up and receiving smiles in return. To this couple thanks for the smiles your cars brought "car folks" and sorry for your loss.
Proper car people who understand and love cars like us. This is the most emotionally charged episode yet, nice one Dennis & Crew really looking forward to seeing the resto on these fabulous cars.
that sign "Thank you to all our Neighbours...." in combination of knowing what went down there , melts my heart. These people lost so much , you cannot put it in words , and yet they smile and are thankfull. It is nice to see people helping people , simply because it is needed .
My Dad just recently passed from stage 4 bone cancer. He has a '68 Impala 4 door he left to my 2 brothers and I. It has the original 327ci with a 2 speed power glide. He bought it in 69 brand new for around $2000, and built the car by himself in his driveway. He told me stories of testing it on the highway with his younger brother (my Uncle Joe). Tears well up in my eyes seeing this video, and how much that car means to this woman, because that '68 Impala means that much too me. God bless you guys for this!!
Dennis swoops in to save the day. I love this channel. I can't wait to see them returned in perfect condition. I would buy a car off you. And I would not think twice about it. You know that you can trust Dennis 100 percent. You can't say that about everybody.
Can't wait to hear from the restorer, I was under the impression that the metal changes for the worst in a fire loosing temper. Denise please do a video on the challenges of restoring a fire car. Thanks for your work.
The 79 will have to be a re-body/VIN swap, that metal is shot. You can see how warped it is. The 77 is not even a question, unless they swap the VIN and title, nothing is fixable and money wise both are not worth it.
@@Avalanche2 A good panel guy will get those cars back to the factory look, time and patience and anything is possible. Have you heard of replacement panels if needed.
Looking at these cars is really heartbreaking. It made me think how Burt Reynolds entertained us as kids with his Trans Am. Rip Burt we love you really very much and we still miss you great man
Looking forward to seeing those cars put back together. Nice of you guys to help those folks. Lefty seemed like a great guy. Sorry for his families loss.
Dennis! You rock! I haven’t met you personally, but I can tell you’re a great man! I’m sure just by hearing your words… “I’ll take care of it.” Just made all their pain go away!
As a grown man that loves this culture we choose to love, it absolutely breaks my heart to not only see & know the love both of these cars endured, but the lifetime of memories that surrounded them on the walls of such an amazing garage.
House fires are so sad and hard to deal with, then you add in classic, it hard to swallow. Dennis and team great job helping people in need with a heart. This a class act
Why we follow you Mr. Dennis Collins is not just about the cars that you truly have a passion for but about the people that you meet and truly care about their relationship with you, their feelings and the most respectful person that I follow in the car business. Always the class act.
Dennis, your compassion is showing on this one. Really nice to hear the stories of these two cars. Blessings to this couple as they wait for the restorations to take place.
I've owned three firebird and they sold alot of em thanks to Burt Reynolds (R.I.P.) and I'm sure they will do a wonderfully spectacular job restoring these two iconic rides. Can't wait to watch the builds, thanks Dennis.

Our hearts go out to David and Lori. Their passion for these wonderful cars will see them rise from those ashes. Great advice about the fire alarms, just a terrible way to learn that lesson. Thanks for letting us know about the work on Restore a Muscle Car. I'll follow this story until those cars are back where they belong. I'd love to fly over from Australia to see them unveiled. It will be an incredible day.
Writing this with tears in my eyes. Dennis, you and your gang are fabulous. These are sweet people who lost two beautiful cars. Thank you for helping them.
That's a tough loss and no amount of money can replace the memory's . Would love to see them when they are done. Great job guys you all have hearts of gold. Stay safe and God be with you all always. Thanks for the video.
My heart goes out to these people that have lost their pride and joy but I know they have chose the best guy for this restoration process these two birds will be breathtaking after his team-restored can’t wait to do the follow up videos to see how they turned out
Very much appreciated. Mr. Reynolds senior and Burt had a home at the end of my Street next to the feed store that still worksw/family. We hate losing the home Dad built 50 years ago, but at least we had the opportunity to grow up in a good neighborhood and interact with Reynolds senior who was also a kind and good Man
So sorry for the loss of your beloved T A. I also had a 79 T A, black. T TOPS, gold trim, a Real Bandit twin. Bought in 1983. Had it 4 years before trading it in. Was a fun car, drove it from Southern California to Wilmington North Carolina twice without issues. My best wishes they will return your cars in beautiful condition!!
Heart breaking. : ( I passed on a matching numbers 78 Bandit T/A with Hurst T-Tops and Manual for $3500 some decades ago, cause I had just restored my Formula and built it the way I liked it, still holding on to the Formula, it would devastate me going through what they endured. Thanks to all who are helping them! You are all great people!

Hey, Dennis and team. I have never owned a Muscle car. I am 62 now. But to watch you pull burned out hulk Trans Ams from this Hell Hole. That look like they never could be restored. Is a amazing! The way you handled the whole situation. With Dignity and respect for that couple. I even teared up. That's why your TH-cam Channel is the best of the best. They're definitely going to the right place for the restoration 👍 I know both Dave and Dennis have tons of parts at hand, but I'd love to donate some part to one or both cars. Thanks for the comments on fire safety Lori. I now have a CO2 sensor and smoke alarm in my garage. My 2022 Camaro LT1 thanks you. Sorry for your loss. My Dad passed while I was in the military back in 2013 and I wish that I could have paid his bills by buying his 67 442. Family is everything. I am the one who planted the bug in my Dad. It's how we remember our loved ones the best way we can. I want my Camaro to be passed down to my children. Dennis is the MAN.
A battery shutoff switch or disconnecting the negative cable is a good safety practice on any vintage car or truck with original wiring. Remember the garage or shop that houses the vintage car is important too.
I’ve never owned a Trans Am or a Camaro or anything in the general motor line as far as a muscle car but it’s a darn shame that these two burned I would love to see the final product when they are done being restored I’m sure I will be amazed!
Years back when they filmed parts of the movie in N. GA. My Uncle was the Mayor of Cleveland, GA. He was able to buy one of the non-wrecked Trans Am's for my nephew.. The car was awesome. Beautiful !!!
Amazing way to help people and cars Dennis. Not that it matters but your solidifying your place in automotive history. As a conservator and great person. Thanks.
I can relate to the house fire 🔥 as our family had a house fire last year. Oddly the house burned to the ground except my Masonic Bible. It was left partially intact. Weird how some things burn and others miraculously survive.
I know how she feels. In 2008 I lost a 1966 wildcat GS and it has taken 10 years to find another. Am in the middle of building now. I know how they feel and Dennis is a real saint for helping.
Hi Dennis and crew, dave thanks for all the efforts it will take to make a resurrection of these birds!!! Dennis how about a car show with the bandit group as a charitable run for the family to help with any needs and rebuild. . car culture is a family , !!! santa
I had a 79 Formula 4.9 4-speed car and my friends had a 78 TA 400 4-speed and a 79 Formula 403 auto. We had a lot of fun with those cars. Will get another some day...I can see why you love these cars. They will get restored...glad nobody was hurt in the fire. Peace.
Dang, that is such a shame, so glad that they may be restorable... from that damage, that fire must have been rip-roaring hot!! Yikes, glad no one was hurt, sad that memories were lost, but memories can still be made again. Great job, Team Collins!!
Y’all are the BEST!!! That was OUTSTANDING the manner in which you handled that situation!!! The thoughtful and caring way you consoled the owners was REALLY COOL!!! WAY to GO!
My family lived in Atlanta when Smokey was filmed. My three sons were in a scene at the truck stop in Lawrenceville, GA. Always loved the film. Nice to know a part of history will be restored.
Great job Dennis and Dave. I purchaed my 79 from Rick at Trans-Am Florida about 4 years ago. Totally awesome of you all to help this unfortunate couple out.
These cars might be old, but tye passion is so strong. Subscribed to see the restoration of these once stunning cars that are temporarily on pause. Go for it guys, let these two ride with pride once again
These will cost a colossal amount to put right and are really past saving . When the car burns it distorts the sheetmetal, the paint blisters off and then the car usually gets powerhosed off, which further damages the metal through surface corrosion. You're left with thin, warped metal that's totally oxidised, there's very little you can do. The metal's also weakened by the heat, which means that even if you did restore it, the car would never be as strong or safe as it originally was. Burnt out vehicles produce materials called fluoroelastomers which turn into a highly corrosive acid, hydrofluoric acid, which is virtually impossible to remove from the skin so it's quite dangerous to touch them as I see the owner is in the video
Dennis your a Stand-up individual who helped these CAR PEOPLE Feel that 💯will have the ability to make it happen God Bless you and your Team for your time Big John
House fires hit close to home for this viewer. It seems like I fight the same fire EVERYDAY since Veterans Day 2014. The loss of just pictures alone.. devastating, and the after effects linger forever.
Here in Florida it is the same, but the firewall will only protect you for so long. Then the fire will burn thru it. Usually the door from the garage to the home goes first.
First so sorry for their loss. Thank God no one was hurt but losing all that cool stuff had to be hard. The 'wife's '79 was fantastic..loved the '77 too. Glad you helped them Dennis. That forklift is fantastic....wish I had it when I was farming...very cool.

WAY to GO!
I have see these burnt cars brought back ! But I do feel for them .
My family lived in Atlanta when Smokey was filmed. My three sons were in a scene at the truck stop in Lawrenceville, GA. Always loved the film. Nice to know a part of history will be restored.
Dennis if anyone appreciates what these cars mean to the car world and to this family i know you do
Can't wait to see the updates on these pair of Transams !
Well done the Coffee & walk team for their huge help on this tradegy 👏 👏
Great content. Look forward to the updates on how it goes.
Great job Dennis and Dave. I purchaed my 79 from Rick at Trans-Am Florida about 4 years ago. Totally awesome of you all to help this unfortunate couple out.
Thank you so very much Dennis that was an amazing video and from a very deep long-term car guy. Oh my god that was great.
These cars might be old, but tye passion is so strong.

Great episode today!!!!!!!!!! But Alex needs some practice on that forklift some. Lol
Another reason this is my favorite car channel of all time, God bless you, Dennis & Crew!!!
David and Lori are the best. I am watching this and wish I could send you both a big hug.

Dennis your a Stand-up individual who helped these CAR PEOPLE

House fires hit close to home for this viewer. It seems like I fight the same fire EVERYDAY since Veterans Day 2014. The loss of just pictures alone.. devastating, and the after effects linger forever.
I cried with her.. and no, I don’t know her.. just too painful.
Dennis, You and Crew went above and Beyond to help these fine people. Lord Bless Your Heart.
In Canada, your attached garage has to have a firewall between it and the house.
Here in Florida it is the same, but the firewall will only protect you for so long. Then the fire will burn thru it. Usually the door from the garage to the home goes first.
Love the Big Boy doll. I worked for them here in Canada back in the early 70's. None left here, long gone.
Dennis this one hurt, please give us updates as they get redone.
First so sorry for their loss. Thank God no one was hurt but losing all that cool stuff had to be hard. The 'wife's '79 was fantastic..loved the '77 too. Glad you helped them Dennis. That forklift is fantastic....wish I had it when I was farming...very cool.
You are a remarkable human being Dennis
Great video. condolences to Craig's family.
