    Damn, you were WAY ahead of the times. I bought an x65 POE LTE modem off Alibaba a while back abd thought it was something no one had done and here you did it 2 years ago. Amazing! Thanks for sharing this video.

      Oh you have to check my website out chestertechrepairs.com I’ve been getting triple digits with $40 modems since 2019

    I really appreciate you showing this build! It is exactly what we need for our RV. We are tired of lugging around the Thick LTE antenna cables and trying to route them into our indoor cell modem/router. Nice! Building one just the same.

    Why did you go through all that extra work with the usb enclosure? Buy the m.2-PCIe adapter and throw the modem on the router PCB.

    • @RouterRelated
      @RouterRelated  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      M.2 adapter yields usb2.0 (480mbps) the USB adapter is usb3.0 (5gbps)
      Ie. This is a future proof setup. The person I built it for will likely drop in an RM502Q-AE with 7xCA which will pass 500mbps Downlink easy

      Using usb3.0 enclosure makes it future proof... so you can then use a nr5g card later

    Be careful not having antennas hooked up on wifi before powering on could blow out the amp.

      Not exactly these zbt routers all still transmit pretty good without antennas

    Where could one buy that fancy ethernet cable gland / extension? It's exactly what I need, but I'm only able to find pass-through glands. Great stuff btw.
    EDIT: Nevermind, it's in the store. :)

    Looking to build something similar for an off-grid area, and am learning about different options that might work. Are you able to use any sim card in this setup (such as a Visible sim) or only specific ones?

    • @RouterRelated

      Cellular boosters are for voice not for data.

      M2M boosters (or Machine to Machine) are made specifically to go between antenna and modem.
