100% We all love to see a 1000+hp supra, but they're track queen's and anybody with a ounce of sense would agree, I've always thought that 600/800hp is that sweet spot for a street Supra
It's a German Sierra with some additional plastic, and a not so good yb engine. 520hp and it's marginally faster on the strip than a factory stock Nissan Pulsar GTI-R with less than half the power. Ford have always been shite, and always will, and need other companies and manufacturers to design and build their cars for them.

That 1st standing quarter race had me laughing omg how he launched that Cossie and the concentration getting those shifts right 😂 Brilliant old school battle. I loved it and both superb cars, but i would love a Cossie to cruise around in on sunny days ❤
Always loved Fords. Dad drove a 1.2 fiesta in the 80s the onto an Escort 1.3 then best day ever, pulled up to the house is a White and black trim red lined Orion 16i Ghia. Loved getting lifts in that baby. Moved on to mondeo then over to SUV but we still love Fords in our family.
There really is no loser here because these are two legends, and if you consider that Sierra weighs 1.200kg and with a driver everything is 1.330kg at least, then the race is super 🔥🔥🔥🙂👍👍👍
Love how very little was given away about the 500. The 8 injector rail is standard and it comes with a T4 as standard. Touring car spec is a relative unknown to those not in the know. Keeping it close to his chest. Love it.
Very good effort on the cossies part! That is all proper 80's tech (T4 turbo, L8 ECU, 'Green Injectors') impressed how it launched with that laggy turbo. Both lovely cars!

Supra's like these are the best imo. 500-600bhp is perfect. I think after 600 they seem less usable. I'd love to get mine to 500ish. That RS500 is absolutely beautiful though!
Reminded me of when Dick Johnson took his Sierra Cosworth to the UK and no one could believe the practice times he was doing. Amazing cars and a lot of skill to drive them. 36 years old and still totally awesome. Great show, thank you.

I was the proud owner of a 3dr Cosworth in the 90's. 300bhp. My mate had a standard 500. I've owned subarus and loads of hot hatches. Cossie was by far the most fun I ever had. Great showdown. .

I know the cossie is a superb engine however it's still a Ford Sierra. Nobody would of ever bothered with one until ford cleverly made a nothing car into a beast giving it that cossie power plant . Being a paint sprayer in the car trade since 1985 I worked on many Ford Sierra and boy did they go rotten quickly ........... its amazing to see one in this condition .
The Supra driver played it very smartly, when he saw too much boost was coming out for a proper drag race, he went in lower boost to launch properly. Not sure it was a good choice or move our friend said, it doesn't mean he won't put back the boost and so the power to maximum, once he launched correctly. The Supra driver was the smart one, and jumped on the boost controller, to unleash all the power.

I spoke with owner about this, he said he tried but it didn't work, so stayed throughout mid boost 490hp on the last race
