- Many comic books from the '90s suffered from being overproduced and have thus killed the market. That said, quite a few are worth a LOT. Here are the most valuable!

Pleasantly surprised. Especially The Batman Adventures and Bone. Some guy offered me $300 for my copy of Batman Adventures #12, the other day.
I found 3 of these titles and recently received them back from CGC a few months ago. After clean/press CCS and graded these what came back.
ASM 361/3 newsstands, 9.8/9.6/9.4.
New Mutants 98/2 newsstands 9.6/9.0.
X-Men 266/1 news 9.8.
I stopped buying new comics right about 1993 so it's awesome these were my last hurrah. Fun fact: bought the two copies of NM 98 during a beer run while in college standing in line to pay doing the pee dance.

I was at the bookstore in the mall back in the day when the black/white baggie Death of Superman comic came out. So many kids and parents buying them up declaring it would pay for their college years down the road. I bought a sealed one a few years ago for $10 shipped.
That Carnage part one, which I had a copy and didn't know how to store it properly.. damn!
Awesome list and lucky to have them all..well my bone #1 copy I recently found out is a 2nd print. But that's cool for what I paid a few years back. Good job and awesome to see 90s books getting love.

I have that copy of harbinger, I need to double check pretty sure I have a coupon in it is in outstanding condition, kind of trying to look at where this should go, but it makes sense to wait till the movie comes out and then have it graded? Or is that a risk?

I loved the 1990s.
A lot of comics popularity and pricing are fickled based . Takes one movie or a TV show to launch a stampede towards a particular comic title or issue .
Eventually Hollywood will move from the superhero theme movies popularity and then the prices of comics will drop just like it did after the 90s get rich craze in investing in comics had fizzled out . A lot of key issues could have been attained at reasonable prices after the 90s comic investing went bust . I've seen a lot of key issues at comic con in the 2000s at affordable prices but unfortunately I didn't take advantage of because I too was fatigued from spending money on comics in the 90s .
Give it time , the cycle of low prices will come back around.
Just a heads up, keep an eye out for Twisted Metal 2.
Especially if you get it graded.
Found I had a New Mutants 98, submitted that one, came back at a 9.4, but grader notes say waves in cover, so candidate for CPR, have the second printing of NM 87 - the gold cover

That is freaking funny cause no joke I got a Batman Adventures #12,Batman Mad Love and some other keys for $100.I was shocked to see Bone#1 in the number 1 spot but Bone#38 Frank Miller variant is a high dollar book as well and I found a copy in the dollar bin,it has been a good month for me.
Most of the books on this list have skyrocketed since it came out. You did miss Dreamwalker 0, the 1st appearance of Goon, it's rarely ever spotted in 9.6 or 9.8 but checks in close to 1,000 dollars in 9.8 when it actually comes to market. If they ever make the movie, expect it to double.
I remember buying NM 98 back in university for 15 bucks to complete my collection and, oh how I hummed and hawed over that decision. I’d never paid so much for a comic before.
Just on a point, you would normally have no problems selling Spawn number 1 and Superman 75 number 1 in high grade for well over 100% profit on eBay these days. If they sold them now, and they sell well at lower prices, there is definitely a return. Spawn number 1 in high grade usually goes for a bit now actually.
I pull Superman 75s out of dollar bins all the time. Pay a buck or two, sell em for 7 or 8 if in NM.
I have not one but TWO venom lethal protector #1 foil covers and I was so excited! Looked them up and eh... $30 each lol.

Nearly two years later, (from this video post), that Wolverine 145 Nabisco variant, graded at a CGC 9.8, was sold for $8,100! That sale was in Dec 2023. I think that high sale was due to the combination of the upcoming Deadpool/Wolverine movie and the rarity.
The DC Elseworlds you showed was wrong.. its the 80 page giant.. not the reprint 100 page spectacular..

Great eye! Its a logo for Lionel's Kiddie City. It was a toy store in the 80's in the northeast that was almost as big in my area as Toys R Us!

I don’t what it is with Malibu Sun 13 but I found 3 of them when I first start collecting comics 14 years ago, and just could never find one worthy of getting graded

Yup I had death of superman, too. I was gonna sell it to my LCS, they said 5 bucks and I walked out. Dude outside was like hey man i will give you $30! Made my day.

For those of you who are looking for 80s X-men & New Mutants there is another Mutant title called Power Pack. I actually remembered that name due to the Fall of the Mutants Crossover Event.
I used to own most of the New Mutants, including #98. I made a move and lost a long box with all of them. I hired two friends for the move. Was it them?

I have a copy of New Mutants 98 in my collection and had no idea it was worth that much. I knew it was valuable because of the first appearance of Deadpool but not that valuable. That Batman Adventures #12 is one of my grails, because it's the first appearance of Harley Quinn and I have a large Harley Quinn collection.
Is it for sale?
#4 is one of the 3 slabs I have! Mine is only a 9.2 tho.

I feel like some of these key Valiant books from this era are due for a comeback. Especially Turok. He even had a couple video games that hold a lot of nostalgia for some of us.

"Raw copy" = "readable comic book." "Slabbed copy" = "Who knows what's in there? Who cares? It's EXPENSIVE, nerds!" CGC is a trash company that has done irreparable damage to comics.

There's a lot of insane sellers listing facsimile or reprints of New Mutants for over $100. Buyers(new) beware that these have very little true value BECAUSE they're REPRINTS made decades after the originals! If you're going to throw money at comics, make sure they're worth it! Stop paying for HYPE! Most newer comics aren't even worth the cover price, so reprints are actually worth less.
To a degree, I agree w/you. However, if (like me) you purged your comics when you found sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll, buying a reprint to complete your run is definitely better than not having the book at all. It will also stand out like a sore thumb when you’re looking through your collection thereby lighting a fire to save up for that OG copy🤘
@@hayesnick1556 The only point I'm making is that you should never pay collector prices for reprints. Of course it may be something to do if you can find a reprint of an issue that fills a gap in your collection where you can't find an original copy for a reasonable price. Any reprint book priced more than $2 to $3 is a waste of your $$$.

I'm a fan of 90's comics (1990-1999).
I think it’s stupid that coupons/tattoos/advertising inserts debarking complete or incomplete is a stupid idea. We are not talking about detached or missing pages here.
I don’t mind the cost reduction though.
Just goes to show you that comics do not stay hot forever.. these prices have dropped.

Fellow P24 member here. Love the channel. Collected comics like it was my job back in the '80s as a kid. I have about 6 long boxes in storage from that period. I last went through it in 2008, wasn't much of value then. Would love to see a video from this era. Or, if you already did one please share the link for my lazy ass.
