    A fantastic analysis indeed, the Jedi had indeed failed Anakin and Ahsoka. You should see the video “Yoda is an Idiot” which explains why Yoda’s views on attachments were wrong. Having attachments can potentially lead to the dark side, but without those connections the Jedi became far too detached and a lot less compassionate than they were supposed to be. The answer is to balance those attachments with duties not to not have them at all. If Anakin had someone like Qui Gon who could’ve given him the emotional support, validation, and guidance that he needed things would’ve turned out better for him.
    Yoda had seen too many friends pass on before him so he came to the wrong conclusion that not having attachments was how a Jedi should be. He should’ve separated his own experiences since he was a species that lives for 800-900 years and not applied it to the other Jedi. Qui Gon suffered a personal loss when a Jedi woman that he loved had met an untimely demise, but he didn’t let that loss cause him to give up on attachments the way that Yoda did. Qui Gon understood that Jedi are supposed to care and love, he was the last true Jedi until Luke (Star Wars Legends, Expanded Universe, the sequel trilogy doesn’t count) came along.
    Anakin represented the last chance that the Jedi had to change, to reform the Jedi code, to embrace attachments, and to stop being enforcers of the senate and to follow the will of the force like they were supposed to. It was the refusal of the Jedi to embrace Anakin and the change that he was supposed to bring that ultimately led to their downfall at the hands of Palpatine. In the ROTS novelization Yoda realized that he was at fault because he didn’t allow the Jedi order to change, to adapt along with the galaxy. He finally understood that he had failed the order, that he had been too rigid, too blind, and too arrogant, and that Qui Gon had been right all along.
    Obi Wan wasn’t the right person to train Anakin, he was too dogmatic, rigid, rule following, and too loyal to the Jedi council. His training method was too harsh for Anakin, it only made Anakin’s childhood trauma even worse. He failed to provide Anakin compassion and understanding. After Anakin’s fall to the dark side only then did Obi Wan finally understand why Qui Gon didn’t join the council, and to see the flaws in the order and its code. He was determined to atone for his mistakes with Anakin (the same for Yoda) by mentoring Luke, he was more kinder and understanding towards Luke than he was with Anakin.

      Wow, this was a great analysis! I haven't seen that video about Yoda yet, but I will definitely check it out. I would like to make some videos about this topic too. I agree completely with all of your points. It's really tragic that the Jedi, Anakin, and the galaxy had to learn such harsh lessons. It made me think a lot about how many failures can stack on top of each other until the foundations of everything crumble. It's also wild how much the Sith planned for this and targeted the Jedi's weaknesses.

      no lol. First off George Lucas is not a Christian. It's because the dark side is tempting and offers promise that the Jedi can't offer.
      A lot of star wars is based on moral ambiguity.. It is constantly picking apart the hypocrisy and the faults in the Jedi's code. Questioning the idea of "Jedi = moral good". We learn through much of star wars that it is not an absolute that "Jedi=good" and they do a lot of shady things.
      Palpatine enjoys doing evil things because he has embraced the dark side of the force which is incredibly powerful. Sith Lords are significantly stronger and more powerful that the average Jedi. Being on the Dark side allows you to use your power limitlessly without being held back by a moral code that many see as broken and nonsensical. It is NOT a religious thing.

    The Jedi failed their Chosen One, and Palpatine whispered poison in his ears for a decade.
    What Qui-Gon saw was a boy despite his poor circumstances wanted to do good, wanted to help them despite being a slave
    What the Jedi saw was a boy with a reasonable fear and missing his mother who is in slavery, and consider that wrong.
    Then they quite literally handed their Chisen One to Palpatine, the devil, just because he asked.
    There was a lot of good in Anakin, the fact that it took Palpatine a decade to manipulate him, being general in a galatic scale war, losing pretty much every one he loved, being a slave for a decade and so many other things for his to turn into Vader shows Anakin strong morals that his mother had taught him when he was a child, unfortunately he just like everyone else had a breaking point

    • @Lore-Empire
      @Lore-Empire  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, it was pretty tragic and by the time the Jedi asked Anakin to spy on Palpatine, he had already lost faith in them. So, their request for him to spy on someone who had only ever been good to him (even if it was all manipulation) felt like just another betrayal from the Jedi.

      Anakin was also riddled with pride and arrogance. It wasn’t just the Jedi who had hubris, Anakin was no better. Saving Padme was of course primary goal. But his pride and ego was also at stake. Anakin was selfish, as much as we might see him on the surface level look like he’s doing it all for Padme.

    The clone wars is a good show, but the things the films did better was show Anakins fall to the dark side. He’s this fragile conflicted boy who becomes disillusioned with the Jedi and has all the stress piled on him, the prophecy, distrust from the council,
    Slow grooming by palpatine, the fear his wife will die. So it makes sense when he’s tempted with a way to save her. In the clone wars however, Anakins cocky and charming and funny and a bad boy who just gets aggressive sometimes. His personality is so radically different to movie Anakin that it’s harder to imagine him falling to the dark side as easily as he does. Watching Anakin at the start of the final two clone wars episodes, it’s hard to imagine what he’d be at the end of it. Anakin throughout revenge of the sith however, it leads nicely into his downfall.

      That's a good take! I agree, you can't beat the original movies. I did enjoy The Clone Wars as well. I think Ahsoka's story really added even more depth to Anakin's fall, with her leaving the Jedi after everything and Anakin feeling like he couldn't save another person he cared about. I liked how it illustrated his growing disillusionment with the Jedi. And I agree, Hayden Christensen was great as Anakin.

  • @jmwilliamsart

    It’s true that fear is a path to the dark side, but he and the rest of the council focused too much on the negative and not enough on the positive about Anakin. Qui Gon could see Anakin’s potential, and he knew that Anakin had a good heart. Qui Gon was the last true Jedi, the rest of the Jedi had lost their way, they lost their connection to the living force.

    • @Lore-Empire
      @Lore-Empire  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Definitely! I really wish Qui Gon got to train Anakin. Even if he wasn't Anakin's master, him just being alive would have mitigated a lot of the push back he got from Mace and the other Jedi. Anakin probably would have confided in Qui Gon instead of Palpatine.

    The whole Prequel Trilogy is just so poignant because of how interesting the premise is. Essentially, it’s “What if Jesus couldn’t resist the temptation of the Devil?”
    Another part that stands out to me is how lighthearted Phantom Menace is compared to the rest of the trilogy. It represents Anakin’s innocence and the peace in the galaxy during the events of Phantom Menace. This is even displayed in the music, as it greatly resembles Ode to Joy (at least in my opinion) and captures that childlike feeling of adventure and whimsy.
    One last thing i want to say is that it’s really interesting how different, and yet how similar Qui-Gon Jinn and Palpatine are. They both act as father figures to Anakin, both are deeply rooted in their beliefs on their respective sides, and while Jinn dies at the end of the beginning of the saga, Palpatine dies at the very end, almost as though Jinn’s death caused Anakin’s suffering (which it did) and Palpatine’s death alleviated it. Since Maul also resembles the Devil, it’s safe to say Jinn’s death at the hands of Maul is an allegory for if Christ lost the guidance of our Father through the work of the Devil.

    • @Lore-Empire
      @Lore-Empire  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those are some really interesting points. I never thought about the 'Jesus being tempted by the devil' analogy before. I agree that The Phantom Menace was definitely a lot more lighthearted. I think that added to the heartbreak for many people and made Anakin's story feel more tragic; it did for me.
      It's also interesting to think that if Qui-Gon had lived, Palpatine probably would have been discovered sooner or at the very least wouldn't have succeeded in ending the Republic. So the roles might have been reversed again.

    • @brycelandon6387
      @brycelandon6387 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree. I've always felt like The Phantom Menace was pure fun - something that childhood should be. That's also why I'm one of the few Star Wars fans who has no problem with the presence of Jar Jar Binks in the movie. Jar Jar's presence in Phantom Menace fits perfectly with the rest of the movie. But as the prequel trilogy gets darker and Anakin's innocence fades, its fitting that Jar Jar's presence in the movie fades too.

    Hear me out. If done properly Anakin could have had the greatest redemption arc in the history of cinema.
    If the sequels were centered around Rey receiving instructions from a mysterious force entity that was guiding her and was opposed to Darth Vader’s voice guiding Kylo. Later it is revealed that Rey was connecting to the true Anakin while Kylo was being manipulated by Palpatine. Then in the end, instead of Rey somehow defeating Palpatine just so Disney could have its girl boss moment, Palpatine defeats Rey only for Anakin’s force ghost to appear and heal Rey before infusing her with his power temporarily allowing her to defeat Palpatine.
    Anakin would have vanquished the Sith, restored the Jedi, and learned to save those he loved from death but he would have done it through the power of love and with the help of the Jedi.

    Depends. George changed plans and lore too many times. Originally darth vader was actually not lukes father and Leia wasn't Luke's sister. Vader originally did what ben said, he actually killed Anakin and obi wan
    then made him barbeque sauce just like he did with the current version of Anakin. Even after the OT, George was thinking about the end of the prequels. Along with it he made controversial changes with how the force works with midichlorians, count dooku seemingly poping up out of nowhere and so on. In the end he decided to reuse the original vaders backstory with the difference being of course that Anakin was the one who betrayed. So really it was just consequental on how everything turned out. Thus a lot of outside material were needed to be created in order to fill a lot of development and lore building that the prequels missed.
