Bucharest is another city during the summer. Everything comes to life, from the Unire Fountains to the street performers to closed strees just for pedestrians to concerts and aerobics. You hit the nail on the head there with Bucharest being different in the season. Also, it is true Bucharest is still building itself up from the ruins of communism and war.

We could definitely see how many of Bucharest’s best features are probably more noticeable in the summer. We still had a lovely time, but would definitely be curious to see the difference in the summer months!

"Romania" derives from the local name for Romanian, which in turn derives from Latin romanus, meaning "Roman" or "of Rome". This ethnonym for Romanians is first attested in the 16th century by Italian humanists travelling in Transylvania, Moldavia, and Wallachia. The oldest known surviving document written in Romanian, a 1521 letter known as the "Letter of Neacșu from Câmpulung",is notable for including the first documented occurrence of Romanian in a country name: Wallachia is mentioned as Țeara Rumânească.

Romania is not a new country! It is the oldest in the region. Where did you get this idea? It was under the occupation for a while and was split into smaller bits but it always come back to be Romania. It was initially called Dacia and when the roman empire conquered Dacia they renamed Romania. It was renamed from Dacia to Romania in Year 106 is that new to you?

@@MaxandSidney our sensitivity regarding our land and history comes from being in this part of Europe for more than 2000 years. As you can imagine...we , as a country, dind t have much peace and quiet. There were vultures flying above waiting to take a piece of Romanian land rich in oil, gold and all sorts of resources...we paid a lot to all the invaders...just to stay independent.
This continues nowadays ...you were there in Feb when Russia invaded Ukraine...well ..this doesn t sit well with us.
So ..somehow through the words of our grandparents and inherited in our genes..😀..yeah we are sensitive about our history and the thieves who came and took our most precious things. For example Russia still holds Romanian gold treasury worth about 2 billion euro ..94 tons of gold taken to Moscow in 1917 during the WW1 to be guarded and returned after the war. We ve never seen it back. Rumor has it Russia paid its debts to Germany with our gold! Hundreds of years we had to defend Europe from the otoman empire...austro hungary were vultures also...austria still is today ..it has monopol of forests ..oil..and a lot of other businesses in Romania...Israeli people doing business after 1990 stole millions of euro and disapeared...no where to be found.
Ok...as you see..I am also sensitive...mainly because there are always hungry vultures waiting at our door. US and GB are among few countries that respect Romania and treat it well and fair!
And ..I understood your metaphor meaning a new country born after 1990.😀

5:07 Romania joined NATO and the EU so it's a recently new country? Um, no shade, but you do know there are many nations that existed hundreds of years before NATO and EU, right? Romania was formed in 1859 by the unification of two regions that were firstly mentioned in documents in the 14th century. Actually, most European nations existed before the colonization of America, which was 2 centuries before the foundation of the USA. So you can just assume most of the countries aren't new here in Europe.
I really appreciated your video, but please do more research before spreading important information on the internets. It might also help you understand more about the history and culture of the places you visit.
