FEEDING OF FINGERLINGS (FRY)
FINGERLINGS LESS THAN A MONTH are fed with brine shrimp or daphnia.
Wriggler Stage (Day 1 to Day 4) - No feeding
Free Swim Stage (Day 5 to Day 15) - Once a day brine shrimp
Fry Stage - (Day 16 to Day 30) - Twice a day brine shrimp
FINGERLINGS ONE MONTH OLD AND ABOVE
Day 31 - Day 45 - tubifex once a day
Day 46 - Day 60 - tubifex twice a day, powdered pellets
ONCE A DAY FEEDING (STIMULATE AGGRESSIVENESS)
For every inch of the body length of the fish, one large pellet is given. Another pellet is added for every inch of growth the fish has attained over time. This is done when the fish body diameter is less than one inch. If the diameter is more than one inch, the amount of pellets can be doubled --- with recommended once a day feeding. To get the diameter, measure the area centermost area from the belly of the fish up to its top area excluding the dorsal fins.
If the body length falls on a point between the two actual inch mark (ex. 4.4 inches), our basis in determining whether to add another pellet is the midway point of the measure or the 0.5 mark. If the body length falls before the 0.5 mark (ex. 4.4), no additional pellet is given but if it goes beyond the 0.5 mark (ex. 4.7) then it is safe to add one more pellet.
TWICE A DAY FEEDING (MAXIMIZE EFFECT OF FOOD AND VITAMINS)
Just double the feeding you make in once a day feeding. Feed every 12 hours.
THRICE PER DAY FEEDING (PUMP FEEDING)
Get the total number of pellets a flowerhorn is supposed to get based on the twice per day feeding. Divide it into three then add one pellet per feeding. Most importantly, use a tank heater to increase the metabolism of the fish to avoid the occurrence of bloating and Hexamita infection.
Flowerhorns aren't found in the wild, they're a man made hybrid. Smh

My flowerhorn is 4 INCHES only but i feed him 24 pellets everyday, 12 in the morning and 12 in the evening.

if you want your FH have a big head, you should turn into a small but high tank, the small tank make they less movement and they will come fatter
My flowehorn is 7inch i fed him 2 worms and like 18 pellets today, other days he will eat 2 king prawns and about 18 pellets, i have had him for 13 months, never had any issues with his health, he refuses food when he is done, feed your fish based on how they act and look.

Indeed, I followed this guide and my flowerhorn lost the red pigment in his body, after few days I changed to my regular qty of food I used to feed him and he got his red pigments back.

Ezhil Lobo yes, there is a small risk of disease unfortunately goldfish carrying the most diseases and parasites and any feeder fish , minnows not as much as goldfish but still a chance.
Your best bet is mosquito feeder fish which harder to find and I believe more expensive, but they do not carry any diseases or parasites from what I read it and what I was told by so-called experts.They have them at pet supermarket.
I would not feed them to your fish every day as they start getting used to them being fat every day live fish once maybe twice a week , and they really do start getting too expensive If you feed them live fish often. But I believe you should feed them live fish sometimes.

no.. this guide is for safety of your flowerhorn. Trust me, you''ll never want to see your flowerhorn bloat or get white poop because of overfeeding. it depends on your flowerhorn size tho.. I think my fH doesn't overfeed when I give him 10 pellets at once. But it does and then get bloated. Fortunately he can recover :)
