- 2 Argo Conquests, one on 18" Adair Tracks, the other on 24"Frontiers. Mudd Ox, 60hp Diesel and on 20" Rubber Tracks. All machines did very well on this early Spring ride, the ground was still frozen about 6" under the surface. We stuck the Ox once, so of course that's a good part of what you will see in this clip.
Doc thanks for posting this up. I can't wait to see some more video of your Argo once the ground thaws and conditions get really nasty.
maybe you could use the winch LIKE a winch instead o a tow cable, lift his front end strait up to you

The heavier weight of the diesel Mudd-Ox really becomes a big disadvantage in certain trail situations. A Mudd-Ox 8x8 is also very front end heavy when compared to the much lighter Argo 8x8. My friends Argo could drive out of the water and then up a bank with an incline because it has a much lighter front end , and then I'd have to choose another spot that had a lower incline to climb up out of the water with the Mudd-Ox.
Tim rode with another Argo dealer in a marsh near his friends house. Tim's Argo 8x8 with the Adair tracks out swam the Argo 8x8 with Escargo tracks on his friends machine, and went farther in the marsh and reeds clumps because the heavier weight of the Escargo tracks got his friends Argo 8x8 high centered a lot more often. Tim also told me that the Escargo tracks don't side hill very well either, because of the soft side extentions bend.. You have to hit a hill straight on with Escargo tracks.

I do like the style of the muddox I might have to go this way to make room on mine really thinking of raising my motor to the middle of mine and above the trans ,then i`ll have some back seating .I need an argo trans really have mega room .

That is a sweet little diesel in it. I was not happy with the way the controls did NOT "Self Center", like in most every other similar type vehicle I've driven. That may just come down to personal preferance though.
Ya, that can happen, I sometimes have to drive up hills backwards in the Argo if I have too heavy of a load.
Never got to try the Ox in a situation like that yet.
Yes, and this was in the spring. The ground was frozen under the surface. Once we broke that frozen layer, it got deep fast. I could feel it under me in that hole the OX got stuck in. I broke it, then the OX fell through.
It looks a little strange with all the Accessory Floatation, but it's all Mudd-Ox.
Thats what i always wondered how much more difference there was between the muddox and yours for weight with your tracks probably will chew good eh -Your still the Guru of the woods , LOL
The Escargo tracks do swim, but not as good as the Adair tracks do because the heavier weight of the Escargo tracks make the Tub sit much lower in the water than the lighter Adair tracks. The Escargo tracks also cause chain wind up too, but is a non issue when running the Adair tracks as you well know.
So far I really like my Adair Tracks. I also have a line on a set of Escargo's, but have not tried them yet. I think the Escargo's look heavy but would still like to try them.

The Ox had a lot of extra "BLING" on it, that added even more weight. Quite the machine.

this was Mud Ox accessories fail, not Mud Ox fail.
Looks to me like they put everything known to man on that machine and cut down on its aproach angle, that front bumper stuck out a good 18" from the front of the Ox.
I watched this again , A little more courage and aggression really helps , Break the surface on that loon goon and your finished .
I was just told that the Escargo's don't swimm at all...........
Mudd Ox: Fail.
Looks like wrong kind of tracks for the conditions on the Mudd Ox.

If you do a search on TH-cam for Ecargo tracks and then type in the TH-cam user name of goescargo. This guy has three video's showing the Escargo tracks swimming.
I`m so close to having my Argo going I found a carb have to wait till fri to get rebuild kit for it guy sold it to me for 30 bucks for all fuel system going to use a Mikuni pump they last good .
So, you have a set? Do you have any video? From what I've read, either you love them or hate them. Some of the negative that i've heard: They ball up with ice in the winter, They eat tire sidewalls, They are heavy, VERY poor service from the manufacturer, ect. But I still want to try them, lol.
I already have 4 sets of tracks, I don't want to buy more, but I will if they are as impressive as some say they are.
What's the hp for the mud ox?
